I've been using Timbuk2 for 4 years and recently got this customized classic messenger. It's done really fast and superb. From the first glance, the materials look the same as my previous bag, so I can conclude that it'll have the same sturdiness.
However, even if my conclusion is wrong, I have no worries at all since the life warranty service is tremendous and It covers any defect on the bag (if any). So far, I never had a service as satisfying as what Timbuk2 served.
Despite the products that might have some limitations, it's worrh every penny to get Timbuk2. The fabulous service overcomes the products defect that you might encounter.

I had another manufacturers bag, but you could put certain stuff in it and then it was done, you didn't have any more room.
The Timbuk2 bag is lacking in organisation pockets, but it will hold a LOT more stuff.
I thought I wanted to carry what I wanted and that was it, well the issue is it fits stuff and that was it.
This holds more and folds pretty flat when you don't need more room, and expands when you need it too.
I carry this every where I go, I only carried the other bag when I knew I needed the stuff in it. which wasn't many times.
This has become my EDC bag, the other is in the closet.

this is my third custom bag. I bought the medium so that I could carry my computer, but I rather wish that I'd got a small since the medium is a bit big. It's a great bag, though, and I've very happy with it. It's pretty comfortable to carry, and has plenty of pockets.

I like the minor changes - the thinner strap, thinner but still effective strap buckle, standard shoulder pad. All the goodness of my '90's Timbuk2's but less of the 00's features and weight bloat. Besides the thinner strap mechanism, I like the front panel buckle straps with the buckle portion now hidden under the front flap, and I like the fact that the straps are offset from the Velcro so they don't get frayed. I still don't like the fact that the rippy part of the Velcro is on the bag body, not under the flap, because it means a portion of the rippy Velcro is exposed all the time since I don't (can't) pull the flap all the way over it. The cumulative minor changes may not seem important, but they brought me back to Timbuk2 after a long absence!

I love this bag. It's stylish, super light, and I keep finding pockets wasn't aware of at first. My only problem with it, and this is my own fault so learn from me, I overestimated how big a medium would actually be, so I find myself running out of room in the main bucket area just trying to carry the notebooks and textbooks I need for the day to class. I recommend getting the next size up just to be safe, I wish I did. But other than that no complaints

I'm a couple of months away from being a first-time Mum. What better way to take away the fear/panic/uncertainty than to use an awesome Timbuk2 courier bag that will serve many uses for years to come!! It keeps me in touch with my sporty, outdoorsy and fun loving side... Life should never be taken too seriously. It's great quality, perfect size, has enough compartments and looks fantastic.

I haven't had this bag for very long, but it is the perfect inbetween size for traveling, day trips wandering around the city, and biking. I don't usually like things on my back when I am biking, but this bag is very comfortable, has a great amount of pockets and places to put things. My only complaint is that the water bottle pockets don't fit my water bottles so they end up being a little superfluous. The bag seems very well made and like it will hold up once the rain starts and on many more adventures.

I love that you can have the bag of your dreams made in San Francisco, and that Timbuk2 will repair it if needed, and that they will even recycle it when you're finally done with it. But I will never be done with it.

I'm so glad I could replace my 8year old, worn out messenger bag with this colourful, own creation. The one's I found in the Swiss shops were sooo boring... :o)
Hope the new one will accompany me the same long time on my daily bicycle rides to work, as the old one.

I have the S size, and it is the perfect size to cary my things but still remain lightweight. I commute between home and work; usually on a bike. This messenger bag is perfect for carrying my essentials, which usually include a computer (12 inch MacBook) a tablet (10.5 iPad pro) and various odds and ends. The small size will easily carry a MacBook pro 13 inch, but my Retina MacBook Pro 15 inch is a bit too big for this bag (I recommend the medium size).

My configuration: Medium, all black and Cordura, except for the middle panel, which was brown Cordura. Added the laptop sleeve and the carry handle.
No rain, snow, international travel, or careless tossing to the floor after a long day has come even close to challenging the might of this bag. No barely-closable, ridiculously overloaded hauls from the grocery store have loosened the cam buckle or weakened the seams. This bag can handle anything.
Add in the organization, the laptop sleeve, the convenient water bottle holder, and you've got quite possibly the most capable messenger bag ever created.
If there's one caveat, it's that the Medium is so huge, you may find it to be more than you need for your day to day. I'm getting a Command, the Classic's mature cousin, to keep a bit slimmer profile-but I don't think my Classic is going anywhere. It'll be called into action soon.

Works great for my laptop, iPad, Kindle and plenty of pockets to store all my miscellaneous stuff. The bag is high quality and appears that it will last for years. I did add the computer sleeve and highly recommend this add-on. I also opted to add the water bottle pockets but they are too small for most water bottles and they are not easy to use.

My old timbuk2 bag was about 10 yrs old. Still good looking though the inside rubber started to shred. I bought this new one and gave a friend my old one. He still uses it every day. Bags are certainly made to last.

Overall very comfortable and small. My only small complaint is that the bag's strap get tangled up sometimes and it becomes a pain to unravel it. But that is only one small thing that really has not big significance in the whole view of the backpack.
