Dig this version. More padding than original Chuck Taylors.

This is my second pair of these converse that I ordered. I had the first pair for over a year and used them pretty much everyday. Way more comfortable and better quality than original chuck’s. There are two different versions though. My first pair I used did not have removable insoles. The new version has removable insoles that seem like they have a bit more cushion. I would say go true to brannock size. I measure 9 1/2 on brannock and usually wear 10 in athletic shoes. 10 is too long 9 1/2 worked for me. I have wide feet so can be little narrow at first but stretch out a bit. I like that insoles are removable now so I can maybe use different insole if needed. Highly recommend them.

The All Stars 70 are MUCH superior to the modern all stars. The outer sole is much thicker with a gloss. It’s much more comfortable then the modern all stars. The canvas feels very durable and heavy duty. Very vintage vibe to the shoe. Great shoe in all.

First thing I noticed when I got these shoes was that the Sunflower color was darker than the picture posted. Not a deal breaker, but I was looking for a bright Sunflower color. I'm a size 7.5 in the All Star Core shoes, so after reading quite a few reviews, I sized down to a 7, but they felt narrow (toes felt squished from the sides), and they were oddly roomy lengthwise (so maybe 7.5 would be enormous?). In addition, these DO have a removable insert (at least in size 7 in the women's size). So in conclusion these are cushy, Sunflower yellow is darker than pictured, the insert is removable, and sizing is all over the place. Will try again.

I normally where a men's size 12 in just about everything else. I have a older pair of Converse that are size 11, so I ordered the same size for these and they fit just about right, so they definitely run a size large.

I love Chucks but I don’t love the support and quality of the “regular” ones. These are much more supportive and substantial and are also much more comfortable due to the upgraded insole. They also feel slightly less narrow than usual which was a welcome surprise as well. It’s so nice to be able to wear them again.

I purchased these as my first pair of All Stars ever and also my first Zappos purchase. I went with the '70 model because arch support is very important to me and these are supposed to have significantly more than the standard All Stars. Normally I wear a 9-9.5 sneaker, so I initially ordered an 8 after reading that these run large. For me the 8 was a bit too tight. One 10 minute phone call to Zappos support resolved the issue painlessly. These shoes are well constructed and very comfortable. The arch support is adequate and the insoles comfortable all day. They're not comparable to modern basketball or running shoes, but that's not what they're for. You probably shouldn't buy these to do actual sporting activities. As a comfy, stylish and timeless casual sneaker these are very good. Additionally, I can't overstate how good Zappos' customer support is. I've never bought shoes online before and was hesitant to do so without trying them on first. I guessed wrong on the size based on internet knowledge. I called Zappos at around 6pm on New Years Eve absolutely expecting a painful experience with a foreign call center. What I actually got was a patient and friendly voice from Las Vegas who solved my problem in minutes. I totally understand being hesitant to buy clothing online without trying it on. With the quality of Zappos' support, there's just nothing to worry about.

I am a size 9.5 with a pretty wide foot and an 8.5 in these fit me perfectly. They are much more comfortable than regular Converse and overall s much higher quality shoe. It is worth the extra money to buy this model over the regular model

I read a lot of reviews before buying because I couldn’t figure out the sizing. Many reviewers said to size down, and the site says size down by half. A couple women with my size said they’re true to size. I went to the Converse website, which has a sizing chart based on actual measurements. According to that I was supposed to size up. It made no sense. I am usually 7 and sometimes 7.5, usually the larger size with sneaker brands. I went 7, or men’s 5. I just got a 7.5 in Vans and so thought maybe they might just be a half size smaller than that brand. In the early 90s I borrowed a friend’s all stars in a 5 and those fit perfectly. Just got these and they are enormous. At least a half size large if not a whole size. Can’t figure out why they wouldn’t just make shoes that are true to size and that are consistent with their own measurements - their own info had me buy the wrong size. Thankfully Zappos is great on returns and exchanges but it’s such a wasteful process (Converse not Zappos). These look great and I already like them. Something would have to be pretty bad with the exchanged pair for me to give a lower rating.

After sifting through the many sizing opinions on this shoe I went with my Brannock size due to my wide feet. I have what I call Fred Flinstone feet, my feet flare out toward my toes like a duck foot so I have a wide foot with a tall instep. I figured with the pointy design of these chucks I would just roll with a little extra length to accommodate my wider feet. This was the correct choice, since I have a finger distance from the front of the shoe the widest (ball) of my foot is in the widest part of the shoe. If I went with the 9's I think my toes might be crammed into the front under that rubber section. These were really comfortable right away. I was pleasantly surprised by the foot bed being soft and cushiony! The construction of these 70s chucks are really impressive, I'd say they are better than my made in the USA PF Flyers. I will definitely be getting the lows as well now! As always Zappos shipping was fast and perfect!

these are my first Converse all star in a while, I've been using other shoes but i kinda missed the style that a converse all star can bring to my daily attire, these ones definitely feel better than the cheaper converse all star, they offer removable insoles, better canvas, and also better rubber.

I have these and the Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Core. In both I wear a Women’s 7 Men’s 5. My regular shoe size is a 7.5 except in these and Chaco Z1 sandals. So, the 7 in these feel good too. The toe on these feels a little more narrow and slightly pinchy, but still comfy. The footbed on these is more cushy, but I like both footbeds (these and the All Star Hi Core). I did notice that these pull my socks down whereas the Hi Cores do not pull the. Down at all. I really like these. I like the color too (field surplus, egret amd black). The rubber on these is more of an off white as oppose to the bright white on the hi core. Love them both.

I absolutely love the style and look of these shoes but what ruins it for me is that eyelet rubs off a silver/black paste onto my BEIGE laces and eventually onto the canvas of the shoe itself. This has happened with two pairs and so it looks to be a problem overall. NOT OKAY.

I haven’t worn Converse in a while because they didn’t have half sizes on a lot of their styles. I looked at their shoes on Zappos randomly and was happy to see that’s no longer the case. I’m a 9.5 and these are definitely true to size. I love the color of these shoes!

These shoes are definitely more comfortable than regular CTs, quality is great and as far as sizing, I ordered the same size I normally get with the regular Chuck Taylor version and it fits me the same. Comparison to other shoes (Nike/Vans) I recommend going down a full size.

These are the real deal that I remember from years back. The material is super durable, the cushioning is nice and of course, you can't go wrong with the classic look. Definitely worth the extra dollars, as regular Chucks seem to fall apart rather quickly. This is my third pair, and I'm glad to see that Zappos has them at a great price.

These All Star 70 high are so much better than the regular Chuck Taylor. They don’t hurt my feet at all and are actually extremely comfortable. They are not stiff either so right out the box they have very flexible. I usually wear a size 10 in DC, Etnies, Circa, Globe, Adidas and most other shoes but these I wear a 9.5. I tried on a size 10 at the mall before I bought these on Zappos and they were too big. Definitely get a half size smaller than what you normally wear.

Really great shoe. Super comfortable. I’m usually a 9.5 in chucks but went with a 10. Fit was pretty good. Probably could’ve sized down to normal chuck size but I like having a little room for thicker socks.

Superior silhouette to standard run Converses. Canvas is as thick as a sail. Pretty comfortable, but went to a concert first day of having these and - naturally - heels got a little heavy. Still the classic flop flop, not ideal for running and exercise, but all materials are definitely bona fide plus. Worth it for the elitism of the extra stitching.
