These converse are really comfortable and beat the usual converse styles. Tons of comfort. Make sure you order a half size down from your regular size. In the comfort style I take a 9 1/2 and I am usually a size 10. The whites parts of the shoes are not quite as white as the usual styles and the sides seem to come up higher on the sides of the feet. They are really well made and look like a much higher quality converse. :)

I like these way more then the normal ones. They’re made of better materials. They even weigh more because of it. The canvas is thicker. The insoles are better. My last normal converse tore on the side and i have a feeling these wont. Much sturdier. I’ll choose the 70s version from now on.

Typically Converse run a tad bit narrow for me, but the Chuck 70's are immaculate. Perfect toe box, great length, and slightly better more comfortable arch support than standard Converse sneakers. There's a guy on YouTube that cuts these open down the middle in cross sections so you can see what material Converse uses for Chuck 70s, theres clearly much higher build quality and padding than what they've done to the classic converse over the past 5 years. Can't recommend enough.

Grew up in Chucks in the late '60's. Got nostalgic and bought a pair of Chuck Taylor All Stars in 2012. They were fine and OK like. Lightweight and no real arch support, but fun.
Then shortly after (2013?) Converse introduced Chuck Taylor 70's. Going by the specs the 70's sounded more like what I remembered, so I recently ordered a pair of 70's. While the 70's are somewhat more like the Chucks back in the day, they are also bulkier and clunkier compared to my 2012 All Stars. Makes sense because there's more sole and arch material in the 70's for support, the soles are thicker, the canvas thicker and whatnot. The 70's are warmer to wear due to some of the same reasons notes.
Granted I've only had my 70's for a week like, so they need time to be worn in. My thought today is my 2020 70's might be my Chucks for cooler weather but my 2012 All Stars will remain my warm weather Chucks.
[In the picture] My made in Vietnam 2020 70's (left) are a size 9.5 and my made in Indonesia 2012 All Starts (right) are a size 9.

I'm really impressed by the Chuck 70 and think they are worth the extra money. Quality feels significantly better in pretty much every way.
Sizing on chucks is in general a bit tricky. My true measured shoe size is an 11.5, sometimes 12. I have normal feet and need a 10.5 in these (full size down). They fit long and narrow, so they may not work best for wide footers. With that being said, Zappos is amazing with returns/exchanges to help you find the right size.
These things are a classic and look so good, with added comfort and really nice quality in the '70' version!

First, I love these. I have 30 pairs of shoes and I only wear these now. Comfort, style, these have it all. Buyer beware, I wear a true size 11, with the 70' high I wear a 10 which fits like a true 11. Happy Chuckin'!

These are sweet! My first pair of high top converse and I’m glad I went with the 70s version. They have better support and insoles that make my feet happy. The biggest decision with these was to get either the white or the parchment. Went with the white

This is a very well-built shoe and the footbed is very comfortable, but I found the toecap to be quite narrow in proportion to the length of the shoe. I generally wear a 9 or a 9.5 in D width (although I am closer to an E than a C). I heard to size down a half size with Chucks, so I ordered a 9. Despite having around an inch (or more?) of room in the front of my toes, my pinky toe was still pressing uncomfortably against the edge of the toecap. I could possibly size up to 9.5 or a 10 to alleviate the issue, but even the 9 is longer than I'd like, so I think I may move on.

Better and improved version of original Chucks. Outsole is higher and the canvas seems more durable therefore offers better support. Has far better cushioning than the original ones. Does run 1/2 size big like any other Chuck Taylors. Definitely worth extra penny.

I’m a consistent 7.5 women’s and that size was perfect! I put an arch support unsolved (I already had) in these and they are like butter. Classic, stylish shoe I’ll enjoy for a long time to come.

Compared to the non-70s style, these seem significantly more durable, feel about half a size too big, and the same width. Aesthetically, they’re similar to each other with some nuances as you can see in the pictures. The footbed is more padded than the “new” version so that’s good or bad depending on what you plan on doing in these shoes. For example, they have much better cushioning so they may not work as well for squats, but they work rather well for all around training with some leg routines. Definitely worth a try if you love the current ones but need a bit more cushioning/comfort.

Bought these for my 20 something son who is somewhat of a Converse connoisseur. He says the toe bumper and other rubber parts are firmer/less rubbery than usual and the canvas is slightly stiff. This is not a problem just a difference between these and the usual Chuck Taylor. He likes that the logo is black and white rather than blue and red. Like all Converse he's had over the years, these run about 1/2 a size large.

I’ve been wearing Chucks(lows and hi’s) for years, starting with originals, Jack Purcell’s, and then Chuck II’s. I’ve worn out my Chuck II’s and now that they’re discontinued I needed to try the 70s.
About sizing...I have atypical feet, long/narrow/low volume/low instep. I brannock an 11.5-12 B width. I usually wear a 12 in athletic sneakers and 11.5b in dress shoes. I wore size 11 in Chuck II’s(lows) and 11.5 in Jack Purcells(lows). I ended up with an 11 in the 70 hi’s. Since I’m a B width(narrow), I don’t have a problem with the width of the toe box, but to me, the heels feel a little wide.
The 70’s come with a removable insole. While it’s leaps and bounds better “cushioning” compared to original Chucks, it’s not as good as the insoles in the Chuck II’s Nike lunarlon or the Nike Zoom Air insoles in the Jack Purcell’s. I ended up using the jack purcell/Nike zoom air insoles in place of the 70s stock insole.
The quality of the 70s compared to the originals is night and day. The shoes, overall, feel more substantial, from the weight of the canvas, the foxing comes up higher on the sides, and the soles are thicker. The hi’s also feature a heel cup and feel more structured as far as the upper goes.
The Converse 70s are worth it at retail price, but look much better when they’re bought at a discount.

My experience: these are just a mega deluxe version of the standard chucks they make now. Higher quality all around down to the shoe laces. MUCH more comfy and cushiony than the regular chucks. I got the same size as always and the actually fit a little better for me. I will always buy 70s now no going back.

Chuck 70s are my go-to & these are the real deal. Zappos shipping is fast fast fast. If you’re new to Chucks, I would recommend going a full size down. I’m a size 9 for sneakers but wear an 8 in these.
Of course, if they don’t fit you, Zappos has a great return and exchange program. Can’t go wrong!

The Chuck Taylor 70's hi-tops are the kind of super-heavy duty, old school quality that put the doodie in my sole. The quality of these compared to the the run-of-the-mill Chuck Taylors is notable and obvious. It's so worth the extra money for these. They hark back to a time when shoes used to be made here in the USA with a level of quality that was intended to last. Bravo to Converse for bringing back old school quality. These are going to be my go-to shoes from now on.
I'd also recommend:
Grenson (English dress shoes), Doc Martens, and Puma Clydes.

Overall an upgrade compared to your regular chuck taylor! I've always wore converse growing up but always had issues with foot pain after wearing the regular ones, these on the other hand have thicker canvas, sturdier construction and a MUCH better (and removeable/swappable) insole! Definitely reccomend these over the standard chuck taylor if you're on your feet all day!
