Very comfortable, loose fitting. Material is thin, I worry on a hot day they will have major sweat marks on them that show.

After years of wearing cargo shorts, decided to finally update the wardrobe. Got the "city grey" and "fossil" in 32"/10". I've worn 32" hiking pants from Columbia, and those have fit great at the waist, but these seemed a little loose comparatively. I didn't want to downsize to 30" though, as that was likely to be a bit on the too-tight side. The woes of being in a somewhat in-between size. Nothing a belt can't fix. Another item I've noticed: I like how they dry very quickly if they get wet.

I was looking forward to my "red" shorts, but I guess Cornelian Red is more orange. So, if you're looking for red shorts, look elsewhere.

Comfortable, very lightweight material. Ideal for hottest Summer days.

I like these shorts as an everyday wear for the warmer months. These fit true to size, are comfortable and easy to pair up. Purchased the shorter inseam as a style choice when out on the town.

These shorts are comfortable, durable, and reasonably priced. All things that the Columbia brand are known for.

I ordered the petrol blue, fossil, and india ink, all the same size and length. The petrol blue fit, but fossil and india ink were way too small.

i bought these in the khaki. they are very lightweight. seem to be working out well.

Boyfriend would have them in every color if possible

I have it 4 stars because they run small and I had to exchange my 38 to 40. Even then, the 40 fits a little loose but it's okay, that's what belts are for!

Great shorts, wrinkle easily

Really nice shorts, the fabric is perfect for warmer months. Deep side pockets, Velcro tabs secure rear pockets and seven belt loops are a plus. The waist size was a little snug compared to other pairs of similar shorts - would have earned 5-stars. Overall a very good value.

Love these shorts, i just bought more of them after a year or two of wearing my first few sets! Things i like best about these shorts: they are light weight, dry quickly when damp or a little water gets on them and they don't hold heat so they're great for mild or hot weather and they are fairly durable considering the torture tests I've put them through. I use these for outdoor fun and formal occasions, they are truly my multi purpose shirts good for literally any occasion. I hiked the pacific crest trail, boukdered at smith rock and multiple rock gyms, swam in both the pacific and Atlantic oceans, mountain biked, fished and had yogi sessions in these shorts. I've been impressed with them holding up through all my activities and then i can wear them to the bar or formal event after washing of course. The negative things I've noticed from my steady use over two years: i have two pair of the navy blue shorts which i wear almost exclusively and the bold navy color is fading a bit into a grayish blue but I'm in the sun a ton and the salt water probably didn't help before laying out in the sun to dry for the last few months of warm weather, they aren't stretchy so they will bind a little when you are flexed out in a yogi position but that's also to be expected, and finally my khaki colored pair recently developed a small rip in the buttock area after two years of use and I'm not sure if it was the mountain biking or yoga that did it but i can't be upset because the material probably isn't meant for such constant hardcore use. Overall, i love these shorts and how they look and fit. I'm impressed by the durability and versatility of these shorts considering how light they are. I would buy again, in fact i just bought 4 more pairs in different colors. I bought a pair of roc flex shorts to test and compare to the washed out shorts. They use a lot thicker, heavier material that may more suited for the flexing and consistent abrasion wear that rock climbing dishes out. I like the flex material but the washed out shorts are my go-to shorts for most things that might start around town and probably end up outdoors or in the ocean or waterfall!

Had to send these right back. Way too small. Size 40 fit me like a 38 at best. Here's the kicker: I have a different style of Columbia shorts, size XL, that are actually a bit too big, so go figure.

they are great shorts for casual use or hike. They offer good movement range but do run small. I wear size 36 but had to buy 38.

Great fit and look good with T-shirts or polos. The material is a little thin, but this also makes them lighter and quicker to dry if wet. Waist seems to run a little small compared to other shorts/pants.

Shorts fit great and have great movement in them. Perfect for fishing to golfing.

They do the job. I'd like a side pocket, though.

The product was great the only down side was that the colors are hard to understand. When I ordered I was ordering hoping it would be the color I wanted. Overall the shorts fit great and were very durable.

I bought these because I was looking for something lighter weight than the standard khaki short material without being a polyester wicking type material. These shorts definitely are that. They are lightweight without that slick feel of most polyester shorts. They fit loose but not baggy. They are good to wear with a polo or tee shirt. I do wish they carried them in a few other colors.

Very nice shorts with good quality

I ordered these because the inseam length is offered in 8". I also like that they are really light weight and great for the summer time. I ordered a 32" in waist and they where too small. All of my shorts by Columbia are 32" and fit fine. I returned them for 34" with 8" inseam and now they are too loose in the waist and must be worn with a belt. I intend to keep them, just must wear belt..

I bought these shorts for my husband and 2 sons. They love them, but they do come out of the dryer wrinkled .

I loved the cut and fabric of these shorts, and nice colors. Unfortunately the 30 was smaller than most 30's that I wear, and the 32 was far too large. Wish they made a 31.
