Perfect! The wide calf fits my leg with pants tucked in. The shoe part of boot is incredibly comfortable, even on first wear. Great choice!

The leather is really rugged yet soft. I am sending the boots back to get a whole size larger. I wear a 9.5-10 and I got the 10 today and they are way too small. If you are borderline between med and wide, definitely order the wide width too. I hope the size up fits... these could be the boots I was looking for! They are tall and really stand up, rather than bunching around my ankles. The calf is tight on me, but I need at least 18" for comfort.

This boot is the bomb-diggedy! I love them so much I ordered the black and the brown! I've never worn such a comfortable pair of boots - they are the perfect combination of comfort, sleekness, and are weatherproof! They are comfortable in the calf as well because of the goring in the back. I get compliments every time I wear them! Love Zappos quick delivery as well! You have to order these boots!

Fabulous boots! I have a wide calf and I usually have to fight with the zipper. Not with these boots, they zipped up with out a problem, I was ecstatic! AND, they are so comfortable! Love them!

I LOVE these boots! For the first time, I have found a pair of quality, beautiful boots that will fit my wide calf. My calves are different circumferences, one 17" and one 18". These boots fit the smaller one perfectly, and I can squeeze the other one into the boot. Turns out that once it get it zipped, it feels fine! Very comfortable. Worth every penny - I'll wear them for years!

I ordered these boots one half size larger. Now I can wear socks that are warmer. These wide calf boots are great and I can wear them with my jeans tucked in. Great looking boots. So happy I bought these.

I am 5'10" with an 18" calf. I was excited to find a wide shaft tall boot that looked to be very comfortable. I was willing to pay the cost for a boot that fit. These boots will not zip all the way unless I hold the sides together. But the elastic in the back is stretched to the point that it just doesn't look right. I am sad to say I am returning them. Why won't someone make a tall boot for someone with athletic calves!

I am 5'10" with a 17" calf. I wanted to be able to wear socks so was looking for a half size larger than I usually wear. A 10.5. I wanted a truer polished leather, riding boot look and found some..... "I bet they'll stretch & be PERFECT!" Someday.... I have enough of those type of shoes. Of course these were the most expensive, and ALMOST what I was looking for. AND they WERE the tallest boots I tried on which is important since I'm 5-10. Just below my knee. After hemming and hawing for 3 weeks, I finally just wore them outside. All day. No hobbling at the end of 6 hours of walking and being on my feet. I wussed out and also bought the perfect LOOKING brown boots. (Another style, manufacturer.) A couple of hours and I'm done. I find myself always grabbing these. Yes, they're more expensive, but I actually wear these. And Rockport lasts (and lasts, and lasts). It's a classic style that will be around a long time.

Love these! I have not taken them off since they arrived. The perfect everyday fall boot for the Northeast! I am so pleased with them I am ordering a second pair in black!

I'm short (5'2") with large calves and wide feet. These boots zipped up easily and were very comfortable. Most boots constrict my calves enough that my feet fall asleep just from sitting normally but not these. I wore them 10hrs one day including walking several miles and I was completely comfortable at the end. The foot is very roomy and I could have maybe ordered a 1/2 size smaller (I always order 1/2 size bigger because normally the shoes are never actually very wide) but then again I'll be able to wear very thick socks in the winter to keep my feet warm which I normally can't do with my wide feet. Overall, I'm very pleased with the fit and think they look great. I bought them in black and the goring in the back is barely noticeable.

These boots looked fantastic on my size 10 1/2 foot! I stand 5'10" and I really felt like I was wearing riding boots. They hit a couple of inches below my knee - very nice! Also, they fit very comfortably around my 17" calf. The goring did not detract from the sleekness of the boot. Although I was very pleased with the way the boot looked on me, I was very disappointed with the quality of the leather. I kept sniffing the boot to see if it smelled like leather. After all that sniffing, I am still not sure if the boot is leather. I guess the hydro shield masked the smell of leather. Also, the back of the boot was lower than I anticipated, but overall the boot is very attractive. Alas, my search for a riding boot continues.

Super boot, saves the day! This was a second choice for me, really had low expectations. Exceeded all of them... and beyond. I'm a hairstylist and makeup artist. A typical day is approximately 10 hours on me poor tootsies. These are one of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Fit nicely over jeans nice room with leggings... Look professional. It also rugged enough for walking. The look and texture of the leather are far better in person. The stretch panel in back is exactly, and I mean exactly the same color as the leather. Which is for me and my calf hyper self-consciousness really nice. Footbed is super comfortable too. Walking or standing. Haven't seen much of the water repellent stuff yet... Not a lot of rain since I received them. BTW, My calf is about 16inches I wear a size 9.

I usually wear a 7.5 W, and I sometimes have trouble with even wides not being wide enough. I ordered these in an 8W thinking it would give me a bit of extra space, but it turns out these boots run true to size. The 8W was a bit too big for me in length, and its width was generous, which meant that the boots rubbed too much on my foot. The elastic gore fit my 17" calves, though the elastic is a bit tough to stretch and putting the boots on was a little like putting on a dress with a tight zipper: you know it'll go up, but you need to hold the edges closed first to get the zipper moving. I did have a bit of a problem with the boot shaft at ankle level; the leather is soft and not stiff in the shaft, and it seemed to wrinkle right at my ankle bone and make the zipper push in uncomfortably on me there. I'm not sure if that's a defect in the boot, or because they were a bit too big on me, or just because at 5'1", my leg anatomy is shorter than the boots are designed for. The footbed is neither unsupportive nor fantastically supportive; I usually wear Orthaheel shoes and the support in these boots is (obviously) nowhere near Orthaheel's overwhelming support, but neither are these flat or unpadded. For someone looking for some basic arch support, the footbed here is fine, and in fact it's supportive enough that I was able to wear them without my plantar fasciitis flaring up, though I wouldn't want to take a hike in them. Despite my sizing issues, I do love the look, quality, and styling of the boots, and I've put in an exchange for a 7.5W (thank you, wonderous customer service staff, for making that an exceptionally painless experience!) hoping that the right size will make the fit, well, right.

I was disappointed in this boot. Strike 1, it did not fit comfortably over my skinny jeans, with my 16 1/2 inch calf. I thought it would due to the goring in the back and the fact that it is a 17 inch wide boot. Strike 2, the goring, which I thought was pretty ugly. I am a casual person, not a fasionista, but didn't like it at all. I guess it is in the back so only those walking behind would see. Stike 3, I wanted a boot that could be worn with jeans or a nicer skirt or dress, but comfortable and somewhat slip resistant. I did not feel these could be dressed up. The leather is very rugged. I was currently comparing these to Bandolino cadince, which are a bit dressier, same calf width, all leather side zip with no goring and these fit more comfortably around calf. Also could be dressed up or down. The good about these boots is the really comfortable foot bed, like a good sneaker and the waterproof aspect. If you can afford two pairs of boots, one for casual and have a smaller calf than 16 or so, I think they would be ok, if you can deal with the stretch all along the back. For me they are going back and I am eagerly awaiting the Naja wide calf riding boot to try.

I love my boots. In fact, I waited to write so I could try them out and see if they were comfortable. They are probably my most comfortable shoes and additionally, look very fashionable! Since I am only 5' 1 1/2" tall and have very large calves, I have never had tall boots. I got these in wide calf and they needed only heel pads for my narrow heels to fit perfectly. Since they are so tall and I am so short, I was concerned that they might make walking and bending my legs difficult. Not so because of the elastic insert and soft leather. It's a big bonus that they are also waterproof. I am very happy to have found these boots and to have had such great service from Zappos!

I love these boots, very comfortable on my never happy feet thanks to the wide option, soft leather and good looking. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal and I'm glad I did. Calf as promised is wider than reg. boots, accommodating a 16.5" calf well.

This is roughly the 20th pair of over the calf boots that I have purchased from Zappos over the years. This is the first pair that zipped up and felt size appropriate for larger calves while not looking cheap and tacky. They fit well, come right up to under my knee, and are super comfortable due to the Adidas technology. A victory all around.

Great fit. I wear 6.5 shoe size with a large calf. Comfortable right away. I Can tug in jeans, Waterproof big plus. Since I am short a little high on back of knee but stretched out fast.

I love these boots! It's so hard to find a quality pair of wide calf boots that don't look cheap or slouch in the wrong places or just aren't really wide calf. But these babies are perfect for my 7W feet and 16.75" calves. I can zip them up with jeans on. I usually don't like elastic because it usually looks cheap but not on these. It actually helps keep a sleek line for the boots in black. Plus I don't need to replace the sole with an arch support insert. If you have problem feet but love stylish footwear, these are a must. I love them.

These boots ROCK! Super comfy! They are pretty tall which I like (just below the knee). Works well on wide calves because there is stretchy stuff in the back that gives you more room. If you are looking for a boot without a heal these boots were make for you (and walkin')!

I ordered these boots and Frye boots with heels and I have no idea which will go back as they are both fabulous. These boots are practical for our snowy climate as they have treads and are waterproof. However, these boots go a step above practicality. They are really stylish! The leather is really nice and while I am not really a fan of elastic gores, these are not overly noticeable. My large calfs (due to an accident) is 17" and these boots fit. I am 5'3½" and these boots do push up to my knees, but they still look good. The size 9 is a little loose, but will be fine.

This is a great boot. It's comfortable to walk in all day, and is very cute and flattering. I have a very hard time finding boots to fit my calves. When I do, they are often uncomfortable or look funny. This boot is absolutely fantastic. I usually wear a 9. The 9 in this boot was slightly too big, but the 8.5 was WAY too small, so I stuck with the 9. (so I would say the 9 runs large and the 8.5 runs small??) My foot slides a round a little, which is annoying, but with thicker socks it's just fine.

My boots arrived earlier than anticipated & I quickly tried them on.I was headed out the door to an event & decided to wear them. The wide calf part is true! They zipped right up & I can see how they would have more give in the back as they are worn more. I walked a lot & the boots felt good. My right boot by the end of the night was rubbing my ankle - maybe a thicker pair of socks until they are broke in. Leather is soft. I'm 5'5" and the boots are tall & come right to my knee.
