Loved this boot. Unfortunately it was not wide enough for my calves. I could zip the boots up but they were tight. And the right one was unbearably so around the ankle area. I was afraid wearing them all day might cut off my circulation :). Too bad because they are a really nice boot. Not fancy but a more casual, rustic style.

After searching for months, I've finally found a comfortable, tall, black boot that fits over my chunky calves. This was the 5th pair of tall, black boots that I've tried on. I tried Clarks, Naturalizer, Born, and Dansko. Some pinched at the top; others had too high of a heel or weren't comfy on the foot. I'm 5'8" and these hit just below my knee. I do have "athletic" calves so I was worried that they wouldn't zip, but, thanks to the elastic goring in the back, they did! Since I'm on my feet all day as a teacher and have heel spurs, I can't buy just any black boot. These are comfortable out of the box, but I'll have to wear them to school to see if they are still comfortable after 7 hours of walking, standing, and climbing stairs. I do like that these have a low heel and are waterproofed. That will make walking through snow and ice much easier. Thanks, Zappos!

These are just what I was looking for. These boots are super comfortable. I wear a 9½ - 10 wide so I ordered these in the the 10W. They fit perfect with my regular socks on. My only complaint is the heel is quite big but not enough of a bother that I would return over. The shaft is comfortable and fit my 17½" calfs perfectly.

Just opened the box and so far, so good! I am extremely particular about shoes and the littlest things can turn me away from a pair. I took a chance on these as I do have athletic calves. To provide a few measurements, my calves are 16.5" at their widest point. I am also 6', so taller boots are necessary. After trying these boots on, I had approx 1/2" of space around the top of the boot. This will be perfect for jeans or leggings underneath. I also prefer the space so the boots don't look too tight. A size 9M measures 17" circum at the top of the boot. Measuring from the base of the footbed (not including the heel of the boot) to the top of the boot, it's 16" behind the knee and 17" in front. There is no slouching in this boot at all and it's not a shiny leather like most out there. They're the perfect brown for jeans and black leggings. Winners! Thank you Zappos!

These boots are very comfortable; more so than I expected. Although the leather is not as soft as I would have liked, it has grown on me. Definitely would recommend that you give these a try.

I LOVE these boots! I am on my feet all day as a teacher and needed some supportive boots in brown. The Ecco store at my mall went out, and I wasn't sure I could find ones I loved in another brand. Enter Rockport! I've worn them several times over the last month, and they are so cute and comfortable. I somehow missed that the leather was pebbled, but it's still attractive. I get a lot of compliments too! I do wish the bottom were softer, like more of a rubber sole; the soles are hard and make noise as I walk on hard floors. I had read that the arch support was excellent; I have a high arch and would call the support moderate for me. I have big calves (apparently), and these fit my legs perfectly. Great boots!

I have a hard to fit foot, wide, small, high instep with wide calf. These boots fit great the instep (top of the upper foot) is a tiny bit tight but I'm sure the leather will stretch a little. I'm keeping them because they are cute and I can get my hobbit foot in them.

For my 17" calfs, these boots are absolutely perfect! No breaking in, I can walk or stand for hours, and they go with everything. This is the first pair of wide calf boots that I have ever had that are not too tight or too loose. I can even wear them over leggings. I highly recommend them!

This is my first review for Zappos. This boot is really awesome. I have 16 in. calves and size 7 feet but this is the first boot pair that i can wear and close that can accommodate my calves! Amazing! The stretch goring at the back really worked it's magic. I am really pleased!!!

I've worn the boots twice (so I can't say how they'll last!) but I like them a lot. I have wide calves and they fit well -- even over legging jeans, which I have never been able to do before! The ankle is quite wide too though, I'd rather have the ankle slimmer since I just have wide calves. This does allow me to wear boot cut jeans under the boots, folded in at the ankle. Although I won't do that often. As a result of the loose ankle, it does slouch a bit rather than looking crisp and straight all the way to the knee. The leather is nice and soft and feels durable (and these are one of the few full grain leather boots I could find!) but the stain doesn't seem perfect -- I noticed a little lighter scratched spot, and scratched next to it to see what it took. And it does lose color easily. I don't think I mind that at the moment, since it will make the boots look worn and weathered and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. But if they "age" in an ugly way then I will contact the company, because I don't think that it is necessarily supposed to do that. The foot part seems true to size, I wear a 10 in almost every other brand (Clarks, Naturalizer, Merrell, etc.) and these boots fit just like those.

I adore these. I had ordered a different pair of boots and sent them back. These were an investment, but they will be part of my closet for years. Comfortable and classy!

These arrived today (ordered them yesterday) and I love them! Have been looking for a great pair of everyday boots for years and these are the ones! I am 4'11" and have fat calves and these fit great! Unfortunately noticed that the boots are cheaper today than they were yesterday, but other than that they are perfect.

Excellent boot for those athletes among us who have big calves and can't find high boots that fit. I tried many and this was the first one that worked AND looked good. Super comfortable with a good amount of stretch in the leather.

I placed my order Tuesday afternoon and it arrived the next day -- I LOVE ZAPPOS!! Now, about the boots: I chose brown leather, size 9, medium (B) width. My feet are narrow. I wear a size 8 if the shoe is wide (C) width. This 9 (B) was a little loose in the heel, but otherwise a perfect fit. I'm 5'4" and the boots came just below my knee. My bare calves are a smidgen past 17", but with a little finagling, I was able to zip them up over my monstrous calf with skinny jeans tucked inside. Thank you, elastic gore -- which, I might add, the color matched the brown leather perfectly. Most importantly, these boots somehow magically made my calves appear slimmer, without cutting off my circulation. Nice! There was a little bagginess around the ankle, but I was thankful for the extra room so my jeans would fit inside. The boots are well made, but mine had a few minor blemishes in the leather -- maybe it adds character; it didn't detract from the appearance. These are casual boots, after all. I love the stability of the rubber outsole, as I will be wearing these on a sometimes slushy pavement, and not a carpeted office floor. The Rockport footbed provides some arch support and cushion; I thought it was quite comfortable. Still, I removed it and inserted my aetrex orthotics since I suffer from PF and need maximum support & cushion. Overall, I totally dig these boots.

Great riding boot! I have larger calves and It is quite hard to find boots that fit and boots that fit over your jeans. These boots did just that! They fit, they're comfortable, they are stylish! A bit on the expensive side, but well worth the extra cost. I especially like the squishy footbed!

These are fabulous! So stylish and expensive looking not to mention conformable. I have a 17-17.5inch calf so it was pretty snug to get them zipped but I think the leather will break in a bit and they'll be perfect. Love them!

Sadly I'm returning this boot - It's beautiful, I love how tall it is up my calf (I'm 5'8.5"), the sides are so cozy, and I'm sure it will stand up well in the weather. Returning because I wanted comfort #1 - I work retail and will be on my feet for hours - and I just can't imagine these ever getting that comfortable.

Wanted boots that I could tuck in skinny jeans and these work well. There is a small strip of elastic in the back so no pinching skin in the zipper. Wore these in NYC, walked miles. Comfortable even after my feet were tired. Very warm in cold weather. I have not tested wet too much. The box said they are waterproof. They also don't scuff like another pair of books I have. I do wish they did not have the logo on the side hence minus one star.

So I want to review all of the items on Zappos for a job! I am a product designer and I am an extremely articulate shopper. Here is my experience with the Tristina Wide Calf Boot size 10. I purchased this boot for several reasons:, 1, height was 16.5", circumference is 17" and quality of construction. I have looked at these boots for over 2 months, doing comparisons with other companies and other styles. I have researched other wide calf boots and some of them claim that their wide calf circumference is 15" which is what I consider to be average. I also do not need the extra wide calf as 19" is way too wide and gets really sloppy on the leg, however easily goes over the jeans. The leather is quality,about 1.5-2mm thick on the Tristina, and the design is superb. It flares at the top to look higher in the front, is shaped to give some room on the side, and then has the stretch material gusseted in the back to accommodate the widest portion of the leg. I was pleased to know that the 17" circumference was adequate for my calf, although not sure about tucking the jean leg in. Only issue I have is the price went down significantly right after I bought them. Ouch.

I am a boot lover! Fall is my favorite season and I couldn't wait to pull out my boots again but unfortunately the last pair I bought from Steve Madden had been destroyed in one season so I knew I needed a new pair. I have athletic/large calves and buying boots that fit is always a struggle. After searching online for about two months I decided on these and another pair from Zappos. When I went to order them these were the only ones available and they were the ones I was leaning towards so I ordered them! It was love at first sight!! I wasn't sure they would be big enough but after wearing them around the house for a bit I realized they just needed to be broken in a little leather always stretches. I have worn them every other day since! I am in love with the quality of the leather and the nice thick rubber sole! I also find them to be quite comfortable for boots with a nice lining and comfortable sole. They are gorgeous and I get tons of compliments on them! I would recommend these boots to anyone! I bought a size 9.5 and I have a calf circumference of about 16". With the goring in the back they fit me perfectly! Well worth the price!

Just logged 7 hours in these boots and could still be going. I have a 17 inch calf and had my jeans tucked in. Even without the jeans, the fit is great. The extra stretch; in the back lets you go from leggings to jeans and still have a fit without a big gap. I got the B width and even with my toe rings, they were comfortable.

These boots are very comfortable; I can wear them all day and my feet never get sore. They're perfect for a wider calf (mine are 16 3/4") and the soles are slip resistant. Wish I could find more Rockports for a calf calf!

I have worn several Rockport shoes styles. I do like the boot however, I don't think the wide-shaft designation is very accurate. I am a size 12 with athletic calves and the boots feel snug (not uncomfortable but certainly not 'wide shaft'). There is NO arch support or insulation which one would expect in winter boots. Additional inserts helped make these really comfortable and useable for winter weather.

These have great color and nice quality. The stretchy part in the back doesn't stand out so much and it does a great job of keeping the boot close to your leg while still allowing legs with big calves to zip up. The wide is a true wide, but for some reason one toe on my right foot gets sore when I walk in these boots for a full day. It's not from chafing though; it seems to be something about the shape of the toe area and the length of my middle toes.

The search is over! I've tried for years to find a pair of tall black boots that fit my calves (wide) and my ankles (not) and these are it.They are very slimming and hit just below the knee - I do have long legs, so this was an added bonus. My feet are narrow to average, so if you have wider feet, go with the C width. Thank you, Zappos!
