Oh. My. God. Let me start by saying I have been searching for over 5 years for a pair of awesome wide calf boots...these are basically an answer to a prayer. I have big calves, like 17+ inches and though these are a squeeze, once they are zipped they are amazing. I expect them to break in a little and hopefully will eventually get easier to put on. At this point though, I don't even care that I have to work a little to zip them... They are comfy and beautiful and the perfect height. Totally worth the price and patience to zip on my huge calves!

I always struggle with tall boots because of my 16 1/2 inch calves so I hesitated to purchase these. In the end I am so glad I did. They are beautiful boots that can be dressed up or down. I've walked all day in them through numerous cities with no problems whatsoever. The elastic back accommodates my calves perfectly without making the boots look "oversized" like some boots I have tried in the past. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone and may even buy a second pair for when my current ones wear out.

I was hesitant to buy these boots because I have purchased 3 other pairs & have returned due to the calf fit. I have a 16 inch calf and I am 5'3". I went ahead and purchased these after reading the reviews. Well I am so glad I did. Finally a boot that I can zip up with ease. The height is perfect too, just under my knees. I bought a 6.5 and probably could have bought a 6, but that was not a big deal for me, I'll just wear thicker socks. I like that they are water proof. Just got done wearing them in NYC on a trip. With all the snow & slush, my feet were warm and dry. I wore them all day walking around the city and my feet did not hurt at the end of the day, very comfortable. They do not have a shiny finish to them so I would not wear with my fancy dresses, but they are definitely casual, dressy casual & stylish!

Absolutely love these boots; I have 16.5 in calf and it fits! Wore them for hours the first day and they are exactly what I was looking for; I am 5ft 2in and they go to just below my knee--perfect!

Finally! A tall boot to fit my 16 1/2" calves...and although I don't love elastic in the back, it doesn't look as bad as I feared it might. The leather is very nice and I like the brown color a lot. I'm keeping these. Like that they are waterproof too.

Was looking for a weatherproof, yet not snow looking boot, for my job as an EA at a school. I bought and returned twice until getting these. They are clean looking (if like me, you don't like all the buckles), comfortable and the stretch panel in back is awesome. Mine are wide calf and they are perfect for my 17 inch size calf.

Despite 3 exchanges these boots just would not zip up over my calf. I measured the circumference each time and it was always 15.5" and not 17" as started in the product description. Either the product description is wrong or I kept getting the non-wide calf version of these boots. Shame because I thought the boots were cute and fit really well until I got to my calf and could zip no further.

Okay, just got these in the mail...I'm 62 live on a ranch and got my first pair of boots when I was 6. These boots seem fairly well made and the wideness of the shank is wide where is should be...about 4 to 8in. down from the middle of your knee. My calves are 15.5in and these fit perfectly, in the shank. Don't know if you could wear jeans tucked in but that is a social boo boo in our neck of the woods. Arch support so so. These, however, are not wide. I have a pair of women's Ariat that are regular width and that is about as wide as these are.I'll wear them for fancy occasions where I won't be on my feet all the time (I couldn't resist, they are red). I find it harder and harder to find boots that aren't narrow. These boots are plain and simple...but my big toe joint is too cramped so back to the drawing board...maybe some of the snazzier boots with straps and stuff will fit..not holding my breath. I need some nice looking boots I can walk a lot in.

I am delighted with this purchase. I have a wide foot and a wide calf. This did not have a wide width but I took a chance and bought them anyway. I wore them for the first time yesterday. They are very comfortable went on easily. The leather is very rich looking and supple. They look great! I had several errands to do so did alot of walking and was amazed how comfortable these were for the entire day. These are great boots. I got them on sale, so it was a really awesome deal!

Quality boot, the wide calf fit my 15 1/2 -16 inch calves well. The boot was not excessively tall for my 5'3" height.

I love these nice leather water proof boots, especially with the comfortable footpad and soles, and the sturdy external soles that provide nice traction in the snow. All these with thick socks too, and no need for inserts. The wide calf and shaft are perfect with the combination of leggings and skinny jeans. But unfortunately, I have to return them. The left boot seems to be inconsistently made, as compared with the right boot, as it bunched in the ankle area, causing pain next to the zipper, even with thick socks and part of the leggings to shield the zipper. The right boot was perfectly snug, and did not bunch. I compared both boots in the ankle area, and sure enough, there was a difference. That is too bad, because these boots are expensive and I bought them for the long lasting quality and comfort. I think Rockport made a mistake on this pair. Zappos told me that there are no more of the black pair, for me to exchange with.

I cannot say enough good things about this boot. Love! Super-comfortable, beautiful leather, and perfectly fits my wide calves.

I was told at Nordstroms to order a 17inch girth for my calf size, so that is what I ordered, but I wish I would have ordered a little bit bigger. Overall, it is an amazing boot and will stretch out! Delivery was amazingly fast, even though it was Christmas time. I was very pleased!

Love these boots! I normally wear 8.5 but had to have 9 in these. Comfortable and attractive. I have high instep and did put insoles in these for extra support. Would definitely recommend!

I have a trade show overseas, and thought these would be great, but alas they are too big! Overall, just too big.

Perfect for me. 17" calves no problem. Size 9 fit my size 9 feet. Like the extra tall gore.

I ordered these boots as a birthday gift for myself -- I was hesitant because they were expensive, and I wasn't sure how I felt about the stretchy elastic in the back, but I have a nearly impossible time finding boots that fit my wide (16 inch) calf. So I got them in brown and then left them in the box for nearly two months because I felt guilty and wanted to keep my option of returning them open. However, once I tried them on for my 15-year-old daughter, she insisted I keep them. I have never regretted the decision. I wear them ALL the time. I even ordered them in black, too! They zip up pretty easily (I'll never have boots that are loose, I'm afraid), are super comfortable, and fit true to size. Love these boots! Big fan.

I love these boots. I was hesitant since my calf measures just shy of 17" and they were a little hard to zip the first time, but it is easier each time I wear them. Good fit, comfortable. Loads of compliments.

These JUST barely zipped over my skinny jeans- size 7.5 boot over my 16.5" calf. It was a bit of a wrestling match though. They are going back in favor of a different brand that zipped without effort. The shoe part was on the roomier side- I'd need a thick pair of socks to not slip around. The quality of these boots is on the higher side. They seem like they would hold up well. They also have some kind of waterproofing, which would be nice if you wanted all-weather boots. Not as dressy as some if you are looking for that.

First out of the box, I thought they were nice looking and sturdy boots. I love the leather is not shiny and fake looking. I really wanted these boots to fit but I had to send back. The shaft is not 17 inches in my opinion and I could not zip up past the mid calf. Beware if you have larger calves. If you have medium calves, you should be fine. My hunt for the perfect black boot continues.

These boots look so cute in the pictures. When I received them I was so disappointed. They feel and look like plastic. They were super stiff and looked very cheap. I was sad I had to return them because they fit really well. I have 15" calfs and there was plenty of room to fit over jeans. I just couldn't get past how plasticky they looked and felt. If you want a rain boot look these are for you.

Finally a boot that zips! I originally ordered the 7.5 in standard width in black. I have between a 16-16.5 inch calf and this boot is tight but will zip up. They are really good quality, and a really nice style. So happy to have found a good boot. The foot area was pretty narrow, and ends up putting my foot to sleep if I wear them for an hour. I am sure it would eventually break in, but I am returning for the wides, now that they have them available. I have a wider than average foot though, and tend to buy wides when available. Maybe next year I will order the browns!

Bought a second because when you experience support and comfort in a boot - wow. Wide width is truly wide. The rubber sole is casual and the leather is opaque not glossy. Not for fancy events but terrific for the 98 percent of the days you wear boots.
