not for narrow heeled people. It was too wide front and back. I have wide fronts and narrow heals, the shoe just flopped off my foot.

Usually, I love Alegrias. I wanted a loafer and got these, but they are smaller in length than they should be. I'm an 11-11.5, but Alegria 11s generally work for me. My big toe moves to the end of the shoe when wearing these, irritating me. These also do not have as much support as Alegria generally does.

Like many reviewers, I am in between sizes. 40 is too large, 39 too small. They look great if a bit mannish and large in appearance. The decorative studs are a bad idea - you can really feel them pressing on your foot. I wish they could figure out a way to have them not protrude so much.

I loved this shoe from the beginning. I'm a teacher and on my feet all day. They were fairly wide, which is okay for me, but not for someone with a narrow foot. Sadly, they didn't last a full year of teaching before the seam on the outside toe split open. I'd still buy them again, but I'm disappointed they didn't last another year.

Really cute shoes, but too small (even though I measured my foot and the size I ordered is supposed to be right). Would have liked to exchange for 1/2 bigger size, but Zappos doesn't carry a bigger size in this shoe.

I ordered 2 pair of these shoes in 2 different colors. One is way too big and one is too tight. This makes no sense to me. They are good looking shoes. I wish they would have worked.

These are very cute and I wanted to love them, but even with a wide (6 1/2), I couldn't get my foot (high instep) into the shoe. The leather is very stiff overall, except for the tongue which feels like a piece of paper. For the price, these did not live up to expectations at all. Thanks to Zappos fantastic customer service, these are going back tomorrow.

Had to return these although I was hopeful they would be great after reading the reviews. My foot is narrow and the heels slipped on both sides. Yet the shoe was a bit short; my toe almost bumped the front of the shoe. I could probably have resolved this with a heel pad if they had felt wonderful, but they didn't. The insole is extremely chunky (but more stiff than cushy). I took it out and replaced with the Superfeet insole I usually put in my shoes, and my feet were absolutely swimming in these shoes. Cute style for work but not right for feet like mine.

Really wanted to keep this shoe but it was too short! I am a pretty reliable 10.5 and my toes hit the front and felt cramped. I have 2 other pairs of Alegrias and the 10.5's fit great! I think one of them is a WIDE, which my foot is not, but it just feels better.I tried on a different color, the blue, and it fit completely differently. (almost too big). TOO BAD. :( I really liked the way the shoe looks.

I absolutely love the look of these shoes, but I always wear a 39, and my toes just barely punched into the end of this shoe. I didn't feel that it was so small that I would need a larger size. If they came in half sizes, I think it would work. I returned them with great sadness, but I kept the other 3 pairs that I ordered!

Nice looking shoe. Toe box is really wide. My normal size 6 feels to big with this shoe and feels clunky. Shoes also squeak. Sent them back. On to the next.

Nice quality shoe, but my usual size (6.5W) was much too large. I could have come down a full size.

I own a restaurant and am on my feet walking for hours upon hours. I wish I could leave a better review. They took more time than I would have liked to break in. They are cute. They are comfortable enough to wear as far as feel on my feet. They lack good heel cushion for impact. At the end of the day my feet feel like I have been walking on concrete bare foot. This is the sorest my feet have been the next morning ever. Not painful from the shoe it self just sore from lack of cushion and impact resistance. I'm sure they would be fine for a simple 4-6 hour shift a few days a week. Ordering a different pair today :(

This is the first pair of Alegria shoes that I have not been happy with. It is also the first pair that I have owned that had a back to them, and I think that is the issue. I wanted a pair that were not clogs or sandals, so I could wear them all winter without my socks getting wet in the parking lot. They also did not have the rocker heels of my other Alegria shoes and sandals, which made the feel a lot different. My experience: at first, these were too tight across the top of my feet. At the same time, my heels slipped a lot, as if I were wearing clogs. The length was fine, but the heel was wide enough that it did not even touch the sides of my heel. That was initially ok, as they did not rub, and in effect gave me the fit of a clog, without the open heel. The shoe quickly stretched out, however, and soon became too loose across the top of my foot. I felt like I had to hold on with my toes, or I would walk right out of my shoe. I ended up having to buy padded insoles to put in the shoes to make them tight enough to wear, which changed the arch support and made my knees ache. In the end, I still end up reaching for my old faithful Seville or Classic clogs, because they fit my feet so well. I have terrible plantar fasciitis, and my Alegria clogs and sandals are some of the only shoes I can wear without replacing the insoles with my custom orthotics. These were cute and more professional than my clogs, but just did not fit right. I should have returned them early on, but wanted so badly for them to work that I decided to try to work around the problems.

Cute shoes, well built, looks like great support, but I couldn't get my foot in, even wearing a light sock. Granted, I have a very high bridge, which is why I can't wear Danskos, but I could barely squeeze the ball of my foot into the opening.

I usually wear a 9 or a 9.5... I ordered the 40. Left foot felt good. Some play in the heel but the right was very tight. After wearing them in the house for 15 minutes. The right felt a little better but still tight. A size up would have been too big.. I am returning. This brand just doesn't work for me.

Alegria Taylor size 39 and size 38: I generally wear size 8.5 WW. The size 39 seemed to fit better than the 38 for me. However, the shoes were slightly too tight across the top where the flap is. Also the heel was too loose.

I wear a women’s US10 & ordered a 41, & could barely get my foot into this shoe. Very stiff upper, very tight. These are cute, but look synthetic (my hubby thought they were Crocs). I will be sending these back & ordering something different.

I liked the roomy toe box but the rest of the shoe was really wide. So far, this is the only Alegria that doesn't fit right. The outer part of the shoe rubs on my side ankle bone. I tried using a thick socks and added another insoles to give it a lift but it still rubs. Very disappointed.

Could barely get the shoe on my foot. And it's plastic or something and not remotely comfortable. Suspicious of any positive reviews.

I could not get my left foot into the left shoe. This is unusual as I can always get my foot into an 8.5 size left shoe.

This was a nice looking shoe but not enough depth for me. I am a 9W to 9WW and I couldn't even start to get my foot into the 9W in these. Wish they came with more depth and extra width.

I love the look of these shoes. BUT, the material around my foot, the upper of the shoe, has yet tone comfortable. I keep striving to weR them holding out hope that they will meld to my foot. Nope. The sole is comfortable. I’d return if I had the box.. (Can I anyway?)

I had high hopes for this shoe - about as stylish as you can get while also getting the green light from my podiatrist. Unfortunately, while the shoe was wide enough for my foot, the decorative metal rivets dug in and made the shoe immediately and impossibly uncomfortable. Returned.
