This shoe is extremely comfortable, but at the same time, it is extremely supportive. I have probably ten pairs of Alegria shoes, and this is the first one I have ever had that does not have the "Rocker" sole. But I am very happy with this one. However, it is cut very full, so it would not fit narrow feet. I have large bunions, and the medium width has plenty of room for my foot. It has a large toebox.

I immediately fell in love with this particular style and was tickled to buy them because of the comfort sole in a black loafer style. However, I was completely dismayed by the product that I received. As soon as I opened the box, I was met by what registered as an unpleasant chemical smell, followed by what appeared to be a decidedly oily, smeared residue on the shoes. It even transferred to the tissue paper inside the box. I ordered the same pair of shoes twice to see if the same problem was present and, sure enough, it was. I have to say that, considering the exceedingly high price point I think it is nothing short of scandalous where these shoes were made. If I wanted cheap shoes made in a sweat shop, I sure would not be shelling out this type of money. On the positive side, the style is super cute and the footbed is very comfortable; however I found these very tight and the back of the shoe hurt my foot, leading me to believe that I would get blisters from just breaking them in. I would not recommend these shoes.

Love the shoe, but 8-8.5 is too small. I'm returning for the 9-9.5 -- I hope it works! (I normally wear 8.5.)

These are classy for work or every day casual. They are a beautiful rich black leather, with usual awesome Alegria cushioned insole. They are a bit wider at the heel than the mary jane styles, so the heel slips a little as you walk, but that is just how they fit. There is plenty of toe wiggle room. I wear a 8½ to 9 and I got the 39 and my toes have room at the end. I can wear thin socks, or thick socks - either way is comfortable. I love them.

Shoes not true to size. I normally wear a 9.5 but buy 10's for extra length. My toes rubbed the end of these shoes so I had to return them.

These are so comfortable. They run a little more snug than my Alegria Mary Janes I wear to work. These look great with jeans. Took them on vacation and wore them sight seeing for the week straight out of the box. I love these shoes!

This beautiful shoe gave me the flux. I typically wear a size 9W. My feet are flat and wide I first ordered a 38. Too too small, returned it for a 39 umm not so good. So I jumped to a 41 way too big. But I want the shoe it’s exactly what I was looking for in a everyday work shoe. So I got the 40 and it fits great. I thought the shoe was going to be heavy but nope because of the footbed being so cushiony it somehow absorbs what a consumer would think is weighty. They are not only comfortable and beautiful they somehow help you walk heel toe. What a great shoe!!

These shoes are very comfortable. I have received a lot of compliments. I love the red patten leather, nice deep red color. You can easily wear these for 12 hours straight. Beware that the heels do slip while walking, like Dansko shoes, you get used to it.

Couldn't even try it on! I know I have both high arches and a tall instep. Usually this means the top of my foot feels compressed but with leather shoes it usually resolves when the leather stretches a bit. Unfortunately I couldn't even get my foot inside this shoe even though length and width look perfect. Oh well, back they go, and I'll try another brand.

This the first time I have ever had to return a pair of Alegria shoes! These are extremely tight and I am actually a size 5-5.5 but always buy the next size up as I have wide feet.Very disappointed

I have been searching for months for a comfortable, practical shoes that are actually cute. I finally found it! I broke my foot in college and have struggled to find comfortable shoes since. These shoes offer wonderful arch support and make it easy for me to stand all day. The black patent looks great with black slacks and it is about as stylish as you can get for a comfort shoe. The middle school students I teach even told me they liked them, which says something.

I needed a pair of comfortable shoes to help with lower back problems. Since Alegria is designed for people on their feet all day, I was looking forward to trying the brand. I was also pleased to find something that didn't look like the typical nurse shoe since this was something I wanted for casual wear. The shoes are cute and comfortable out of the box but the leather is coated with a plastic looking cover that has already creased, cracked, and peeled in some places. I have only had these shoes a few days and have only worn them three times. I am disappointed and hoped they would have lasted a lot longer.

I find that these shoes are a little wider than regular shoe but that is good for me as my feet are wide. The insoles are very comfortable for me and as I have high arches I don't find many shoes I can say that about.

With a host of foot issues over the years, I have been victim to the world of ugly shoes. But this shoe is different - I'd say this penny loafer is rather "cute." Best part is that I have gone days without my orthotics while wearing these shoes, so they are super comfortable! I normally wear my orthotics every single day but I decided to give the cork footbed a try...and to my surprise, my feet didn't ache after a full day of work in them. I'm very happy with both the style and comfort that this shoe provides.

In general very comfortable especially at toe box. Unfortunately, the top edge of the shoe rubbed on the medial side of my foot. To the manufacturer, please remove the butterfly it is not needed and I'm not in elementary school. Overall comfortable except for aforementioned issue to overlook the butterfly

Excellent shoes, just not for me. The footbed is incredible -- supportive, conforms, makes walking a pleasure. The toe box gave me room for all five toes (always nice to get 'em all in there). The leather was strong and pliable. The shoes were well constructed. I love the Alegria style selection, but unfortunately I'm exactly between their sizes 36 and 37, with one being too small and the other slipping out of. I'm a perfect 37 in Dansko, but that brand has been shaving off the toe box, so I've been looking for a new favorite brand. If Alegria puts out a lace-up shoe (similar in style to this loafer), I will definitely try Alegria again.

I am a plus size woman with very flat feet and tend to over pronate. My foot felt supported but my heel slipped a bit. I was able to try on with my rx orthotic. When using just the orthodic i needed the original insole or an extra insole to fill tge foot cavity. I liked these a lot, but decided to go with the rocker sole. I am returning these.

The shoe is very cute and sturdy (in ways of support and safety). They were hard to break in and the side of my left foot occasionally hurts from the area where you see the three studs on the side of the shoes (my foot is somewhat wide near the toes). I wear sock liners with these and other shoes, so when I wear ones that cover that part of my left foot where the shoe hurts, it is fine. However, I need to wear the right cut of sock liners, otherwise they will slip off when you walk. Maybe that has to do with the European sizing (I purchased a size 37 {7-7.5}, and I normally wear a US 7).

These shoes are just what I was looking for, I work in health care and walk alot during the day. However after ordering two different sizes, the shoes do not work for me. I originally ordered a size 39 usually wear 9 1/2) had to send back as they were too tight/narrow (I have a wider foot). When a 40 became available I ordered. Those these fit, the left heel slipped when I walked and the decorative studs on the right shoe dug into my foot when I walked. (left side decorative studs seemed to be covered better than the right.). I was very disappointed, because it is hard to find stylish, comfortable shoes.

After having major foot surgery last year, I had to toss out almost all of my shoes. I now need to wear shoes with thick soles, to give my foot some support. I stumbled upon Alergia at my local shoe store. I purchased a of the Classic clogs, in the rainbow snakeskin. You would not believe the compliments that I got. I also purchased two of the Paloma (brown pullup and black napa) for work. These are some of the most comfortable and supportive shoes I've found so far (better than Dansko). I wanted to try a different style, so I opted for the Taylor. I love the electric blue color. Unfortunately, these do not have the same support as the Paloma, so sadly, I have to return them.

These are the cutest pair of loafers I have ever seen. They had the weirdest fit. My toes were forced against the front, but my heels would not stay in when I walked . . . it was quite perplexing. In every other respect it was a comfortable shoe that I will never own because if I go up a size to address the toe issue, I'll walk right out of them. I sent them back.

Unlike many reviews I read, the size seemed right. However, the materials were so stiff my bunion was punished, and the shoes were so heavy I felt dragged down. :(

Design flaw. I wanted and needed these to work. I have plantar fasciitis and part of my summer wardrobe has been the Alegria sandal. Now, I need a sturdy and supportive shoe for fall and winter. I ordered size 39 (for US 9-9.5) in both the Brushoff Blue and the Stonewall. The design flaw is this: See those cute little rivets on each side? There are 3 of them. Well, one of them lines up with the widest part of your foot, and you can feel it through your sock (and it hurt when I walked). I even tried it on with a heavier sock and could still feel it. I took the shoe off and felt the backside with my fingers and sure enough the back of that rivet is right there, poking into the foot. Make these shoes again, Alegria, without those rivets and I'll buy them.

Super cute but hard as a rock. I like hard cork and wood bottoms and Alegrias usually has softer sides and back but these are so hard they were painful digging in my bony heels. I can’t imagine anyone being anole to wear these. It stinks because they are super cute and exactly what I wanted. I wear a 8.5 or 9 and they are slightly short and wide as Alegria is usually, which I don’t mind but Why so hard Alegria!?!?!?
