Overall, I wish I didn't have to give a star rating for these because I don't really know how they are. I got the extra wide calf version and ... wow ... they aren't kidding. These looked ridiculous on me (Santa Claus came to mind...). Even the ankle bunched out in a poof. And I'm not a small person! At 5'8" and 210lbs, I have definitely had some boot calves not zip up me. Anyway, maybe these deserve 5 stars since they really do live up to their name! I picked 3 stars because it seemed most fair given that I cannot even comment on the style because I can't imagine how this would have looked if it hadn't swallowed me from the knee down.

This boot has a very stick heel inside and rubs uncomfortable on the back of my heal. I like the style but not comfortable on my foot. Will send back and continue search.

This boot runs quite large. I wear a 9W 99% of the time. My foot is very loose is this boot, will try reordering 1/2 size smaller.

Extra wide shaft was not quite wide enough in smaller size so I had to return them.

I wanted to love these. They zipped easily over my calf with room for skinny jeans or leggings. The leather is very nice. They look cute. Unfortunately, the soles are pretty hard, there'e insufficient arch support for my needs, and the insoles aren't removable, so it's difficult to add a more comfortable insole. I had to return them.

Boot was nice. Have this style in black. Ordered brown this year. Decided to return as pair that was sent showed wear around the ankle.

These boots looked nice in the box. And they actually fit my 18" calves -- but, they were pretty tight up at the top and had no room for jeans or even leggings. I assume they would have loosened up. However, I am returning them because I felt like I looked pretty stumpy in them -- I think that knee-high boots like this are not the right style for me.

These boots were nice looking, but they were too wide in the calf for me. I have very athletic calves from running, and standard knee-high boots rarely fit. These fit over my jeans but were gaping at the sides. Not a good look, so I had to return them.

Shaft was not wide enough.

Ordered size 8 1/2 W. True 18" calf, which it just barely stretches to... so don't think you get a little wiggle room because of the back material. Too big in the foot overall... very loose in the heal. Slightly cheap looking... due to seam in the front of the boot and the quality of the leather.

Relatively nice boots... soft leather and felt well made. They felt stiff & oversized in the ankle. Often regular width boots feel narrow but these wide width felt too much. Felt awkward just walking around the house, maybe it would improve over time but decided not worth the risk.

The back elastic of this boot is like wavy stretch plastic. The calf width as well as the foot bed being wide were really wide enough for a 19" calf, the overall quality was below average for the price.

I am on the search for a wide boot with a shaft that fits me. I'm a little round, I admit, and the task is overwhelming. These boots are huge. The shaft is overly wide. I ordered the double ww in an 8 after reading the reviews, but the footbed is also super wide. If the shaft wasn't so extra wide I might be able to reorder in an 8 W.

Well-made boots with good quality leather. They fit my short, 18 inch calves with room for leggings or skinny jeans (size 7.5 since circumference changes based on size)! The accordion leather panel at the back was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the ankle was too baggy for me, and gave me cankles. So sad! Great option for larger calves if you don't mind baggy ankles or have larger ankles.

I bought these last year in the fall. While I was not a fan of the look of the elastic on the back, I kept them because it was the only pair of boots wide enough that I could find in brown. I am really disappointed that the zipper pull broke off on one of the boots. These were far more expensive than most other boots and just didn't hold up well enough.

I had to return this boot because it didn't fit my wide calf (sorry, I don't have a measuring tape). But I gave it a good review because it DID fit my brick foot - high instep, wide foot, high arch. My foot fit nicely into the foot part of the book. So if you have a slimmer calf and a brick foot, this should fit. Also FYI, I'm short (5'1") but proportional and the length of boot was right up to my knee.

Really like the simplicity of this boot and I thought it would fit my 15.5 in. calves, but they were way too big around the calf so they go back. I also thought the leather didn't look very high end - considering the higher end price they are.

I have 18" wide calves. These did not zip and allow for that, even with the stretchy piece in the back. I was very disappointed. The size felt a lot bigger than a normal 6, too. Width seemed a little narrower than it should have, but not too much off. I am ordering the Rose Petals boot, now. I hope it will fit well.

Love the wide calf, I can zip with no issues over my 18 inch calves. I ordered a wide with and the only issue I seem to have with them is the way it fits around the ankle. It feels a bit too big, and the shaft of the boot seems to slide down. As for the overall look of the boot, I'm not in love, they don't seem quite as they are pictured, the are a bit more heavy looking and not quite dress boot. I'm keeping them because of the fit of the shaft but not totally in love with them.

Most major plus is the calf on these boots. THEY FIT! And, I don't feel like a sausage. My calves measure 19-20" and all I had to do to zip these babies is pull a bit on the stretch gore on the back calf and VOILA! I've even tried w/ a thicker sock & great. Not tried w/ skinny jeans or leggings yet. Downside -- for this cost of boot, the leather looks cheap to me. B/C I have such trouble finding boots, I may get over it. Sole/heel are rubber- the "stacked" heel is rubber made to look stacked. Upside -- I think for tromping "off road" they will wear better. These guys may actually look a little better worn in like cowboy boots. My feet are growing as I age, and when I tried on boots I found I needed to go up to a 9 in the Sam Edleman. These feel true to size. I generally wear an 8.5, these feel like 9W. The width is great. No pinched toes ... my feet aren't particularly wide -- but many M are just too narrow. Little internal support, so the 9 may be perfect w/ an arch support if I'm going to be running around in these all day as planned this winter. Stay tuned -- another pair is coming I'm gonna compare.

I'm really sad - after all the excellent reviews on these I thought they would for sure be a slam dunk for my bigger calves and wide feet. Unfortunately I couldn't even get the zipper to go above mid calf to even see how they fit. I would have ordered a size up to see if it was a size issue but for financial reasons I couldn't pay for another pair while I waited for a refund on the first ones. They were also a little tall, I'm 5'1'' and I could see they would likely come up pretty high on my leg. If you're my height/have big calves/wide feet and still do decide to take the risk in ordering these, I would definitely recommend ordering at least half a size up if not a full size up.

The foot of the boot felt larger than the size ordered. The shaft was not extra wide as stated. Could not even zip the boot up halfway.

Pros: I finally found a pair of riding boots that zip over my jeans and calves with no problem, and they don't slip on my heel when walking! Con: not a fan of the leather (seems cheap) and they are baggy around my ankles. Back they go. Thanks Zappos for being great as my boot search continues!

The calf did not fit me I have tried so many pairs very disappointing! Apparently my calves are to fat for boots!

The fit was OK, the shaft was roomy. Foot bed could use more cushioning. I was able to fit my orthopedic inserts. I was on the fence on whether or not to keep them until I looked at my hands. The black leather left black smudged all over my hands...looked like newspaper ink. I immediately started the return.
