I have an 18" calf and these zip right up no problem, even over jeans. The large stretchy panel in the back ensures no gapping, so they fit nice and sleek and snug. They are very comfortable. There is a little arch support, but not much, also they run a bit large, but since they are a tad big I had room to put in a Dr. Scholl's arch support and now they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. They look great too, I think. These were definitely a splurge, but in the end, were worth the money.

I have 19"+ calves and tried on many many styles of boot, none that zipped fully. This boot fit comfortably and is well made. If you are a big girl, this is the boot for you.

These boots are fantastic! I'm a vertically challenged person at 4'11" and I have muscular calves that are about 16" at the widest point. Obviously that has presented a challenge for me to find tall boots that zip over jeans and leggings and that fit just below my knees. I've not been able to find any in stores that I could zip over jeans and have tried several pairs from Zappos (including others with a stated 18" circumference) that didn't work. I ordered these in a 6.5 M width and they are perfect! They were a bit hard to zip at first over jeans, but once I wore them around the house a little while, they zip with ease! They fit perfectly and hit me just below the knee. I also love that these have a wonderful smell of leather. They are very soft and supple and just feel great on my feet and legs. I ordered in brown and now I want the black ones. If you've had difficulty finding a wider shaft boot that works for you, I highly recommend you try these. I'm so glad I did!!

whoa. they actually fit my 22 inch calf. sold! solid leather construction, beautiful minimal design, room for insoles for the lack of arch support. DID I MENTION THEY FIT MY HUGE CALF?

Looks wise, I generally really liked these boots. I don't love the back stretchy part because its a little too noticeable and looks a bit like leather corduroy but overall pretty cute. I'm 5 feet tall and my calves are 19" and 18" respectively. It's very tight on the 19" calf but with effort I got it zipped over leggings. Doubt it would zip over jeans. The biggest issue I had was that I ordered a 7 wide and they are huge. I have to send them back and get the 6.5 medium or at least 7 medium I think. I wear wide shoes but these boots were just way too roomy. I think the calf will stretch a little bit but anyone with calves larger than a 19" calf or who wants to wear these over boots should try a different boot. Although I've heard when you're short you need an inch wider in the calf. I loved my Ros Hommerson's I got a few years ago but they don't have them anymore.

FINALLY, A quality knee high leather boot that fits both my very hard to fit extra wide foot AND my wide calf! They look great with jeans and leggings, but are dressy enough to wear with my skirts and dresses as well. The leather is butter soft and a nice rich color of brown, but I love them so much I'm thinking of getting them in black too. They're pretty comfortable out of the box but lack good arch support so I will be adding some inserts. Fortunately the foot box in the WW size is so roomy that adding an insole should be no problem. The foot size does seem to run a little big in length I think, but because of my very wide foot and a need to add inserts for arch support I was afraid to size down so I opted to just wear heavier socks instead. If you have trouble finding knee high boots because of a wide foot, a wide calf, or like me, BOTH, then you owe it to yourself to give these beautiful boots a try!

I normally wear a size 10 wide, my calf measures 17.5 inches around the widest part, and these boots fit me just right (I ordered in my regular size). However, they will have to be only for dresses, skirts, and possibly leggings, as there is no additional room for even skinny jeans. I really have no idea how some reviewers claimed to have calves larger than an 18 inch circumference and still have room for skinny jeans because it's just not possible. Maybe some people aren't measuring their calves properly, I don't know, but these boots are a true 18 inch circumference. I haven't worn them out yet, but they feel very comfortable and the leather is soft and supple. Clean design, well made, good quality leather... I am very happy with this purchase. Only negatives are NO arch support, and it seems the wide width comes more from the leather providing give around the inner side of the foot rather than the sole/footbed actually being much wider than normal width. Also, I agree with previous reviewers who found a slight bunching effect around the ankles (newsflash: athletic calves do not necessarily come with cankles!) but I don't think it's very noticeable.

I have been looking for a boot that will fit my 19" calf and I am 6'2" and this boot is amazing. Finally I can be in style this year! However, it is not so wide that I can tuck skinny jeans in...but looks great with skirts and dresses!

I am in love with these boots. I'm a six-foot-tall plus size giant person, and boots tend either to be too short or not to accommodate my calves. These do both, and they look great, and they are comfortable. I'm having a hard time wanting to wear anything else these days!

These look nice and the i like the flexible calf but I bought these in two colors, spent $250 each, and wore both pairs only once before the soles started come off.

Alas another failure for a gal with big calves. Despite being advertised as leather, the leather appears cheap and is a muddy brown color. Sorry...going back.

These boots are worth every penny! Because of nerve pains in my feet, I have to wear tennis shoes all year. To have a pair of dress boots that fit and feet perfect, even on large calves, is a total luxury. The material is soft, the color/shine is ideal, the footbed is roomy in the toes but supportive in the arch, and the valves stretch. There's no pulling or tugging anywhere. They just zip up, and I'm on my way! I'm thrilled and will buy from this maker again!

I am 5' 4" and inherited my dad's extra wide calves. I have tried many extra-wide width boots before and they were too tight. These boots are wide enough. I can even get a pant leg inside of them. I ordered them in brown and foresee wearing them often. Highly recommend!

I'm giving these boots an excellent review because they were really good looking and from what I could tell very comfortable. Unfortunately they were a fail for this big calf girl. I have an 18-inch calf and could not get them zipped without a huge struggle and I didn't want to risk breaking the zipper. I sent them back and ordered the Extra Extra Wide Shaft style. Fingers crossed they will work. Love Zappos return policy.

Pricey but worth it especially if you have a problem with your feet such as over pronation or flat feet. Also a wonderful fit--true to size. Wore them all day the first day with no problem. Went back and ordered the ankle boots too! Set for life I hope!

I'm 5' tall, and these boots have a tall shaft. I should have measured that. The top of the boots irritated the back of my legs when I sat down. The were also too wide at the top. I needed the wide-calf, but the top was too wide while they just fit my calves. The real problem is that they were bulky at my ankles. I have larger calves, but my ankles are much smaller. So as attractive as they are the proportions weren't right for me. They're on their way back. Good thing I bought them from Zappos.

I ended up returning these despite fitting well. The quality was really poor for the amount spent.

The boot length fit my foot and the shaft fit my 18" circumference calves. Unfortunately however these boots were narrower in the toe box than average WW shoes. According to the research I've done online, an extra wide (or WW) for a size 8 should generally be almost 4". My feet are 3.5" wide and these were too narrow. It's not exactly accurate to measure the sole to get an idea how wide the shoe is, so I measured the width of the interior stuffing, as it was pretty packed in there. The stuffing was only 3" across. Thats about the width of an average size 8, so I'm not sure how these are "WW". I wish either Zappos or the manufacturer would list the width measurements somewhere online so I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of purchasing and returning.

I can't respond to the fit of the boot since I couldn't get my foot into the boot completely. The only part that managed to make it past the ankle section were my toes. Honestly, how hard can it be to realize that if a woman has large calfs, it may be a possibility that she also has large ankles. I'm done with the fashion boots for wide and extra wide calfs. There are some of us who weren't blessed with perfect legs and ankles. Perhaps a boot designer out there will have a vision of a boot with give in "all the right places" so some of us gals can live the dream of walking in snazzy boots. Anyone up to the challenge??

My father said I could play Santa Clause wearing these boots. Enough said. They went back. Poor quality and poor style. Very lumpy and frumpy. But they do zip up, so kudos for at least offering wide shaft boots.

7WW black. Good-fitting boot for a short-legged (5’3”), wide footed with high instep person … with large calves! Have bought David Tates before so knew to order exact size on boots that are WW. (Normally I would go up 1/2 size to accommodate socks, width, etc., in other brands or if normal width). There’s still room in the foot box to let me include my orthotic insole. Great.

Beautiful boot! Unfortunately, the calf circumference was still too small even though labeled as extra wide.

The extra wide shaft is made poorly and the boot does look like something for a Santa Suit. I was extremely disappointed and returned them immediately.

It fit my wide calf perfectly, however, I also have cankles and it was too tight in the ankle. :( They were a really nice boot.

I have strong muscular calves, 18 1/2 inches and can never find knee high boots. They should be a staple to any woman's wardrobe. FINALLY!!!! I found them! Thank you David Tate! These fit. The goring in the back of the boot helps with the fit. They are baggy around the ankle for me. If you have wide ankles, these should work fine. I appreciated all the reviews and that is what ultimately led me to make this purchase. The sole is very basic and may need some insoles but the shaft and top of boot are all leather
