I really love these boots! I ordered the 8.5 as that is my regular size and they felt a bit snug. Back they went and I exchanged for a size 9. Wishing I would have kept the 8.5 as the 9 is really a tad too big. But I wear thick socks and that does the trick! Super comfy, look great with leggings and worth every penny!

I finally have a boot that fits my calves! I have been looking for the right boot that was fashionable and comfortable as well as one that I could actually zip up! Zappos delivers EVERY time and last year the stock was rather low :( but I waited patiently and you have new stock and new designers. I can fit my wide 18.5+" calf inside and zip with skinny jeans!

I am beyond delighted with these boots. They zip easily over my ample calves, and offer a wonderful and rare combination of comfort and style for those who may be wider than the average bear.

Unstretched shaft is only 17 inches vs 18+ stated

I really wanted these to fit. They fit the foot perfectly, but I had an ankle replacement surgery which has left one ankle slightly larger and often swollen. There just wasn't enough "give" in the ankle zipper area to accommodate. Perhaps if the stretchy goring had gone down the shaft a bit more. In any case if you are considering these and have "normal" ankles, you will like them!

I like the minimalist style of this boot. Even the back panel is not super visible, which is nice, and the foot is really good--not too huge at the top or in the calf to cause gaping. I do wish the zipper were better quality--the top part is almost sharp already. The boots are really comfortable though, and I had a pair of David Tate boots last 2+ years (although I had to replace the zipper twice). I don't believe these are worth the price, but there are so few options for those of us needing a wider boot that I am keeping them and hoping for the best quality-wise.

I tried the 7WW, 7W, and 6.5WW. The widths were very accurate at the toe box area, but the heel also got wider so that my preferred size (7WW) was flopping around on my foot. The other sizes didn't work. Really disappointing since it fit so well everywhere else and looks really nice.

As other reviewers have stated, these boots truly have a wide shaft. I found the ankle to be very baggy and unattractive and the leather and construction looks cheap. Not what I was hoping for in appearance.

I had this exact same pair of boots a few years ago. Got tired of it and donated it, and could not find another that I liked. So I repurchased this same exact boots again for a second time--what a disappointment with the quality!! Its the same exact boots for a lot more money than I paid for the original pair a few years back but it is OF MUCH LOWER QUALITY LEATHER. I am terribly disappointed because IT DOES NOT LOOK NOR FEEL LIKE REAL LEATHER. Felt ripped off but it is a comfortable and relatively stylish boots, so I kept it.

Circumference of the shaft is too narrow. Not as advertised.

These boots arrived with a few evenly-spaced marks that did not budge when wiped with my sleeve. In addition, they are narrower than most WW boots (EE rather than EEE) and were quite baggy in the ankles but a bit snug in the calf. Length-wise, they felt right on the money at 8.5. I'm afraid that between the marks, narrowness, and baggy ankles, I will need to return them. My search for knee boots continues.

The stretchy insert on the back panel looks off. Did not zip over my wide calf, even with stretch panel. The ankle/foot bed was stiff/narrow. Overall, didn’t look like high quality compared to the cost. Kinda disappointed that these companies make “wide fit/wide calf” but charge so much more for lower quality boots.

I bought these boots because I got a confirmation that the size 6 had the wider 18” calf. I have wide feet and got the 6W. The footbed fit fine, but the ankle of the boot was too big. It sagged and didn’t look flattering. Also the leather looked and felt like plastic. Definitely not the quality I’d expect from a $200 pair of boots. So glad Zappo’s has such a great return policy.

These boots were adorable and would probably have had a sufficiently wide calf, but unfortunately the section around the ankle was just too tight. As someone who struggles to find cute boots that fit a larger lower leg, I was hopeful after the reviews, but back these went.

These boots would be fantastic...if the leather was real. I don't know how this brand has the nerve to charge a lot for faux leather. They bunch weird, but the height was perfect, the heel perfect...but fake fake fake. Going back.

They feel cheap. The shaft is nowhere near the circumference advertised. Returning them.

Could not get these zipped over either ankle ( left is larger from previous surgery) and the calf would have been too tight.

Foot bed and toe box fit great. Zipped well over my calf but then had a weird 1.5 inch gap at the knees so they looked like pirate boots. Can shoemakers please understand that sometimes more athletic calves have a curve and that maybe our knees aren’t fat??? Had to return. Not paying nearly $300 for boots that look weird.

Way too big in the ankle and the top. I wear an extra wide and this was even wide for me. I bought the 7.5 EE. The ankle is really baggy and the top of the boot had about a one inch gap which looked terrible. I was really disappointed since David Tate has always worked well for me in the past.

I have short wide legs. I’ve never been able to find tall boots! These brown David Tate boots are my dream! I wear them constantly with dresses and tights as well as over leggings and jeans! I love them! Thank you!

Really liked the look and fit of these for a great everyday wear boot and travel boot. Can either dress it up or wear with more casual clothes. Very comfortable for all-day wear.

Love how these look and feel

Purchased a 1/2 size larger than my regular fit because I wanted to fit a pair of socks. Works fine. Plan on keeping and wearing this for a long time.
