I have wide calfs and this is the first leather boot that actually fit. I wore them for an entire day (10+hrs) and they were very comfortable. I am going to buy another pair in brown.

Nice boot although did not fit. I normally wear a 9EE and this boot seemed at least a size too large although the width felt fine. The shaft was also way too big although I have 151/2 inch calf so thought I needed a wide shaft

This boot is wonderful. It fits my wide calves and looks great. It is nicer in person. After trying five boots from zappos I found the perfect boot for me. I walked all weekend in Boston in sub zero temperature and while not snow boots they were warm and really comfortable, they fit over jeans.

Like all the other reviewers here..I have trouble fitting my 18.5 inch calves. These are plenty roomy and absolutely fit with tucked in jeans. They don't even need the stretch panel. They are nice looking, much better than most wide calf boots. I took one point off for style because I would prefer an edgier style like a Frye or Freebird. Us wide calf girls have less choices and these are the nicest I have seen for true wide calf needs. The foot box is generous and the wide pair is going back.

These do have a very wide shaft. I got 10 W and the ankle and foot are quite wide too. Too wide for my ankles and 16 " calf, but nice boots.

I purchased these boots after a long search and after trying on many different boots. I put these on and knew instantly that these were the ones that I was going to keep. I have large wide feet (10EE) and big calves so buying boots/shoes is a chore. I bought at least 10 different styles of boots before settling on these, some fit good, some were tight and some were hard to get on. When I tried these on my foot slipped right in, zipped them up and wore them all day. I have very sensitive feet but in these boots my feet were protected. I would definitely purchase another pair in a different color.

These are gorgeous boots! They look and feel expensive. I have large calves, and these boots fit. I am so glad. I have tried many that claimed they were for wide legs, but, in fact, were not. I am so pleased with my purchase. They are worth every penny - and they are not cheap.

I have a VERY hard time with boots because my calves are big and I'm short. ("Yay!!" said no one ever). These boots fit perfectly and the leather seems like good quality. I totally love them.

I ordered five pairs. These were the keepers. They were good right out of the box for a full day of holiday shopping. This was surprising because I am just getting over a fairly severe case of plantar fasciitis and was expecting trouble. They are very comfortable. I love these boots!

I have large calves at 17" and have had trouble finding boots that I could zip. I bought these boots based on the reviews and they are great. They are big enough to zip fairly easily and plenty of room in the toe box. You could wear thick socks with them if you wanted. They are extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend them.

I have large calves (17.5 inches), and these fit quite comfortably. I bought a half size too big thinking I would need the room for thick, winter socks, but there is more than enough space, so I will likely add an arch support. The color is very dark brown. They are stylish, attractive, and comfortable.

Love these boots and am going to order them in black, too. They fit my calf well (17-18"). Sharp looking!

FANTASTIC! I've been trying to find a pair of wide calf boots forever. Finally, these fit! They are comfortable, stylish and the leather feels like butter. I did find them to run large in the shoe size and ended up with a full size smaller than my usual shoe size (a 9W rather than a 10W). Liked them so much, I also ordered a pair in black.

The boots are really comfortable. I needed an extra wide calf, because I am a cyclist. It is hard to find an attractive wider calf boot that fits well and does not make you look like you are wearing pirate boots. I have received several compliments and this is the first time I have purchased the David Tate label. I work in an office, so I needed my boots to looks professional and these boots go well with dresses.

I rarely write reviews, but it was the reviews of this boot that swayed me to make this purchase. As a woman of size, finding a boot to zip over my calf is a struggle. This boot breaks the mold. It not only zipped over my leggings, they are crazy comfortable. First day I wore them, I did a bit of walking and had no problems whatsoever. For the first time in a long time, I feel on trend for fall and winter. Love love love!

Finally! Boots that fit my calves. I am so excited! These boots are comfortable went with my true size and there is extra room for warm socks if needed.

This boot has an enormous shaft. I have large calves and mine were swimming in these. Not good quality, leather looks very cheap. Must return!

Well made and beautifully constructed, but I had a problem that I have rarely encountered: the boot was too wide. I love the fact that the shaft had plenty of room, but overall the boot was large. I have bunions, and had corrective surgery on one of my toes, so I am always looking for a comfortable shoe, but I was swimming in this one.

I'm short. Short legs with muscular calves has meant no tall boots for me for years. I have ordered and returned more boots than I can count. Boots that supposedly had wide shafts. I was giddy when these boots arrived and they fit. Thank you David Tate for getting it right. I think the leather is lux and construction is well done. The elastic section looks more like a design element than a stretch section for the girl with the big calves!

Finally boots that fit my extra wide calves! I have been wanting to wear boots during the cold months for years, but I could never find any that could actually be zipped all the way up. These boots fit great and are quite comfortable. Now I just need some cold weather here in South Texas to start wearing them!

Nice. 18 inch calf on me and these leave enough room for jeans. The back is accordion leather not fabric which adds to the detail of the boot. Really nice! Only ones I have been able to find that are all leather and look great and fit great!

these are very nice boots! I wasn't sure what size to order so I opted to order 1/2 a size larger and wider (trying to fit my calf) and turns out I didn't need to. I need to return it because my foot swims in it. I'd say it probably runs true to size. Leather was nice. Sole was nice.

I gave these top rating because they are beautiful. However, I had to ship them back. I guess my issues is that I have cankles and even though the upper shaft is extended, the low ankle area is just too tight. They would have fit my upper calf area fine. They are beautiful and I would've loved to have worn them. I posted so that other people who have the larger area in the ankle (or as I call them cankles), would know this may be an issue. I have to wear cowboy boots because with them the shaft at the bottom is the same at the top.

The other reviews gave me the confidence to spend more than I had budgeted on these. For the first time I can tuck my boots into jeans! And they are well shaped all they way down the shaft. My black dress boots are Clarks and I thought they were comfortable but these are all day boots! They are worth the investment

Finally! A knee high boot that I can wear. I have a wide foot and a high and an extra wide calf. Very hard to fit. This boot not only fits, but it is attractive too! I have worn these all day a couple of times already and I love them I would definitely buy them again. I ended up putting a sports insole in them (a standard procedure for me) and I had no issues.
