Unfortunately I misread the sizing information for these boots and will be returning them. They are really lovely, though. Very comfortable and easy to put on and take off. The leather feels more pliable than some other leather boots (though not so soft they would scuff easily). Basically I loved them, but they are too wide for my calf, so I had to order a different pair.

The material is great, it's a nice leather and the shaft is certainly wide (almost too wide)! Best of all, the wide width really is wide. These boots look really sleek in spite of my big feet! What a great find! :)

This looks nice and well-made. Size is a little bigger than I was expecting, but good for inserts or winter socks. The picture made me nervous because of how... flippy? the top rim looks, but the actual product looks fine. There is some insulation on the shaft, but I don't like this because it ends up accentuating the size of your calf. My calves are ~17.3" and there was some difficulty pulling up the zipper, but fit was fine over skinny jeans.

Holy cow I'm so happy to have found these boots! I bought my last pair of large calf boots a few years ago here at Zappos but couldn't find that brand when I needed to replace. I have 19" calves and these boots fit like a charm with leggings or tights (but I don't think I could wear these over a pair of jeans). The only gripe I have is that I do have a normal width foot, and my feet feel a little bit snug, but not shoved or too tight in there (a wide width might have helped, but I was too excited to wear these and said phooey on exchanging). They're comfortable and I don't feel fatigued when I have these on and I'm standing for a period of time. And believe the hype when everyone says the leather gets softer... after a couple times with these on, when I went to take them off, my hand touched the leather and I just let out an aaaaaahhhhh. Beautiful boots. Hopefully with a little more wear then maybe I can do the over-the-pant-leg attempt :)

These boots are very nice quality but were a full size too small (every pair of shoes I have is a size 10 but these were way too small) and yet the shaft circumference on my ~18 in calves were enormous- with even more room to expand.

I love David Tate boots although, they need to bring back the wide calf along with the extra wide calf. I have two pairs of their boots which I bought 5 years ago and 3 years ago, both wide calf. They fit me perfectly. The extra wide calf are about an inch too large for my 17 1/2 inch calves. Love the boot but entirely too wide in the calf for my taste.

I've loved these SO MUCH this year that I'm seriously thinking of buying another pair for when these wear out. When you were them nearly daily you know it will happen at some point!!

I've tried several pair of boots and these are the closest I can come to comfort, wide calf and good width. The leather feels soft but I haven't worn them yet. I'm planning to wear them around the house before deciding whether or not I'm going to keep them. Other reviews said the leather slouches around the ankles and I do not want that!

I bought these boots for my daughter. She tried on many pairs of wide calf boots (calf width 18") and extra wide calf boots. It's rare to find them in stores, so Zappos' return policy was critical to our shopping experience. These fit perfectly-- she can wear them with leggings and jeans. She usually wears an 8 or 8.5 in shoes. We ordered the the 8.5 to start and they were too big. She is very satisfied with the 8's. The leather on these boots seemed very nice. From the picture, she was a bit concerned about the back gusset, but in person it was fine. It is very hard to find leather boots in this size. Like big-calf girls don't deserve leather? Thanks, Zappos, for carrying these boots. I hope my daughter will get several years of wear from them.

I really like the boots. I bought them in black 8.5 wide. I realize that fuax leather and real leather look very similar. But these are real leather, smell like leather. The inside of the boots fuzzy, like the inside of a sweat jacket. My calf's are wide, currently 18 inch, with knee high socks and leggings I was able to zip up the boots over it all just fine. I wouldn't say they are comfy for walking, the foot bed hard, like most boots, so I added an arch - full foot insole from the drug store. Walked & shopped all day with no problems and I have a very high in-step (arch). They were great. Glad I found them.

So I bought these because of the calf circumference. The boots themselves are comfortable for the amount of walking I do, but the fact my calves are 19 inches and this just barely closes should make you think before you buy. They are comfortable and the shafts do not slide, but that is because they are fitted! If you have anything over 19 inches calves and are thinking you can make it work, you can't trust me.

These boots are amazing! I have large calves (17.5") (even when I'm at my thinnest) and struggle to find tall boots I can wear. I've tried over six different tall boots that I could not get around my calves, and these were great. These boots took a little effort to zip up the first time but have been no problem since then. I bought them in brown and black and love them both. Each has been worn several times for upwards of 13 hours in a stretch. I get great complements on them. I also love that they are lower boots, which means I'll be able to wear them through the snowy winter. The one downfall I found to these was that the zipper sometimes slouches and can create a little bit of a pressure point on the ankle.

These are comfortable & stylish boots for those of us with larger calves. They are easy to put on because of the zippers. After wearing them around the house for awhile, I wore them the entire next day. I wore tights, no socks. And I received two positive comments about the boots the first day I wore them to the office & shopping that evening.

Gorgeous boots. I wear 9.5 -10 and have a somewhat wide foot. So I tried a 10W based on reviews. Too wide, too long, But the boot "just" zipped up. Afraid a 9.5 M or W would make the calf too small.

This is my 3rd pair. I have super wide calves and a wide foot - very few boots fit me. These are great and super comfortable. At first they felt a bit stiff but broke in very quickly and i can walk in them all day without my feet feeling tired or uncomfortable. My only gripe is that the top of the boot is so wide that it sticks out a bit too much for my liking. But i guess it makes sense since they are meant to fit a wide calf. If you have trouble finding boots give these a tey!

This is a beautiful, well-made boot. Sadly my "athletic" calves are too large for these as well. They came close, though. Probably closer than most boots before. I am sad to return them.

Love these boots! They fit over my calves! Finally found a pair that look great and are comfy. Not crazy about the elastic part in the back, but it is not a deal breaker. Thanks for making boots for us who haven't been able to find boots before!

Excellent boots, my new favorite!

So happy I spent the extra money on these! I have wide feet and wide calves and these accommodate both! Have a nice wide toe box as well. First pair of boots I can truly wear all day. Classic rider boots wish band and buckle across front was a bit different but still fine.

These boots are gorgeous, very nice quality butter soft leather. Great with jeans and dressy enough to wear with a dress. Very comfortable after adding an arch support, but they do run a bit large in the foot.

I love my new boot, they are comfortable all around.
