Very supportive and warm. The first day I wore these there was a rubbing spot on the ankle, but after finding the right spot for the fabric on the inside they fit like a dream. I am usually a size 9 - 10, and I'm very glad I ordered a 10 in these. 9.5 would be a little too snug with big socks. Lightweight but sturdy. I've only worn them for two days and they're already breaking in nicely.

This shoe is lightweight but is still strong. I broke my ankle a few months ago and need the ankle support. I really love these shoes. In addition, the arch support is very good and it is true to size. I continually get compliments because the colors are so great. I would like to buy another color of this shoe style.

Excellent choice for a hiking boot. The boots are warm and sturdy when hiking during WI coldest days. No break in needed either. My new favorite boots.

Light and comfortable with minimal 'breaking in' needed. Walking in ankle deep snow for an hour I can verify they are waterproof. Looking forward to hiking in them in warmer weather too!

Great shoes. Worn in the rain and snow and were astonishingly waterproof (as promised!). The sizing feels great with one pair of thin socks, so if you plan on wearing hiking socks, buy a half size larger. Toe box is a tad small overall.

So comfortable! Like other reviewers have noted, these boots are wonderfully comfortable. The day after they arrived, I wore them on a 7 hour hike in Joshua Tree, scrambling over rocks and climbing through caves. There was no need to break them in. It was relatively warm on the hike, but I didn't think the boots were too hot at any time. Such a great find!

Just got my new Sugarpine shoes. They fit perfectly. I have a high arch, narrow heel and wide toe area. I wear size 10 and these are very comfortable. Plenty of room in the toes, snug in the heel and plenty of support. I need a shoe for hiking and I am glad I bought these.

These are ADORABLE. And comfy! Can wear them straight out of the box. I went up by a half size, and was glad I did.

These hiking boots are awesome! They fit perfectly from the moment that I put them on. I stood up one day for seven hours and had no problems. I wear an 8 and bought an 8. That was perfect!

I bought these shoes in honey. I walked along the winding, hilly roads through Virginia hunt country. Also walking the 130 acre farm. It is muddy at times. I have to dodge manure piles from 30 horses and 15 sheep but the shoes give me the perfect amount of stability that I was looking for. I wore the shoes straight out of the box for a three mile trek and suffered no ill effects. I am not a hiker so I do not have prior experience with hiking boots but I made my purchase based on other reviews. These are extremely light and breathe well. I wear a 6½ in shoes but ordered a 7 which fits perfectly with light weight socks. I am in my mid 60's with arches which have long ago fallen, so I was surprised at the strong arch support. They are easy to slip on and off and keep my feet warm in cold weather. These are good looking shoes.

Very comfortable boot. Ordered my normal size 9 1/2. I ordered the black color. I thought there would be more blue bordering the boot but it is pretty much black. Debated between the teal and red but the Teal has won out. Beautiful colors!

Love these boots! Great traction and ankle support but soft enough to be comfortable from day one. Took others advice here and ordered a half size up...just perfect. And I love that they come in some interesting colors too. Very happy even though I'd never heard of the brand before. Recommended for light hiking.

Oh wow, I am so delighted with these boots! I wore them for a 3 mile hilly walk, right out of the box! So comfortable, ample toe room, no stress on the top of my foot where most tie shoes really bother me. Nice fit to the heel, good padding at the cuff. I am a fan for sure!

I was looking for a comfortable to wear on a UK vacation, in the winter. I needed warm and waterproof. I probably went through at least 20 pairs - thank you Zappos! I ordered these in a half size larger and Bingo! I loved them. I have been wearing them around the house now for two weeks, no issues with blisters or stiffness. I did exchange the purple for the black because I didn't the purple was "purple" as I would like, more blue-ish. But overall, I love these and can't wait to wear them on vacation!

I've purchased 4 pair of Sugarpine shoes and boots this year...all excellent products. Espescially like the waterproof feature ,comfort and looks. Will buy more when needed.

I LOVE these boots. I haven't tried them in the snow yet, but I can tell they'll work well as I have worn them in this Fall's heavy rain and they've kept my feet toasty warm. I would recommend ordering one full size larger as they run narrow and just a bit short.

I bought these as hiking boots to use for my weekly ventures into the field. I've gone through rivers, mud, and rocky terrain and these boots have never let me down! They're incredibly comfortable and extremely durable. They fit really well and as an added bonus look super cute! I would recommend them to everyone.

Love these boots. Very lightweight. Great ankle and arch support. Good waterproofing, yet breathable. So pleased that I have purchased a second pair to have on hand for when these wear out!

These boots are great! They are super light weight yet sturdy. I was able to break them in quickly too. I chose the honey color and they are really cute.

I bought these for a back country hiking trip to Alaska that required much walking and getting across creeks and marshy tundra. These boots were absolutely waterproof, lightweight, and super comfortable. From the first time I wore them, they felt excellent. No complaints, really, except that because they are waterproof, they do not have the same ventilation as other boots, so your feet get a bit sweaty. If you do not truly need waterproof boots, I would opt for the regular hiking boots. If you do plan to walk through water, though, these are the best. Also, they look good on. Not your average mushroomy hiking boots at all. They come in great colors.

Love these boots! I am about to head to Europe for a week long hiking and biking trip with my 14-year old son, and I ordered 5 pairs of boots to compare for this trip (which seemed decadent to me, but Zappos makes it so easy!). I tried low and ankle boots, and compared these to the Salomon X Ultra Mid GTX, the Merrill Grassbow Sport mid, the Ahnu Sugarpine (lower profile), and the Keen Marshall Mid. I have been walking around my apartment for the past few days comparing all of them, and these are by far the best. The arch support is amazing, which is important for my 47-year old feet, and they are light, bouncy, supportive, and super comfortable all at the same time. I ultimately picked a boot with ankle support as I will be carrying a heavy backpack much of the time, and figured the extra support was important. I had never heard of this brand, but I am completely sold on them, and can't wait to test them out in the field! And I am usually a 9 1/2 in almost all shoes, but the 10 is much better for hiking--roomier toe box, and better fit with my hiking socks.

These are the best boots ever. I wore them a few times around my little town to break them in but the real test was last week when I was volunteering at a camp for disabled adults. One day I put these on instead of my tennis shoes and could not believe how great my feet felt all day. I usually wear orthodics in my shoes but did not put them in the boots and my feet felt fine. I love the ankle support as I've had trouble with my ankle rolling lately. To test the waterproofness I actually walked along Lake Huron beach and was splashed by the waves a few times. The only time my feet got wet was when I went a bit too deep and the spray went over the top of the boot. Great boot, I'm actually thinking of getting the purple too as I see myself wearing them as my every day shoe. I wear anywhere from a size 7.5 - 8.5, I ordered the 8.5 but they were a bit big in the toes and I was concerned I'd trip with the extra space, returned them for an 8 so I feel these boots are pretty true to size. I also like that they are very light so move easily with my foot. They are almost as light as my tennis shoes.
