These run small. Order at least one size up to get over socks. Color of the teal was more green then in the picture online.

I had just come back from a vacation and had declared the Montero style the best hiking boot I ever wore. So I looked at the Ahnu page and thought I'd try these. The sizing is totally different. I don't think it's a bad boot. It's certainly cute, but whatever they did to this boot to change the size doesn't work for my feet. I wore them around my house for 6 hours thinking that my foot would find its good place in the boot. Sending them back and exchanging for a subtler colored Montero.

In terms of comfort and style, these are fantastic. They're lightweight and comfortable right out of the box, and even accommodated my orthotics. And they're adorable! However, I could only give them 3 stars overall because they are incredibly warm. That's fine for temps below 70, but just walking around the neighborhood here in Georgia in the summer is miserable. Just one mile and my feet are burning up.

My biggest disappointment is that they are not waterproof. I wore them in a rainstorm for less than a half hour yesterday, then I was in and out of the car a few times while it was raining. The shoes got wet inside and stayed nearly all day. I had not worn wool socks, so my feet were freezing! Otherwise, these are quite comfortable for light hiking, so long as I do not lace all the way up. If I lace all the way up, they put too much pressure on my ankles. When I bought them, I wished they came in a neutral color, but teal was all that was available.

I find these difficult to get on and off. The opening isn't wide enough to easily put on and the tab in the back is too small and awkwardly placed to help in pulling the boots off. Once they're on they're very comfortable. But I don't recommend them nor would I buy them again.

It might just be that the pair I received are defective, but the stitching where the tongue meets the boot is so thick that it painfully jabs into my ankle with every step. There's no way I could hike in these boots. Overall the boots look great, and feel like they would be comfy otherwise.

I loved the color and style, but the tongue on the inside rubbed against my ankle. I think it's because the material is to lightweight and it bends easily. So sadly I couldn't keep them.

I walk through wet fields with ankle to knee high wet vegetation. So the waterproof aspect was important to me. The first two times I wore them the boots were drenched but my feet were dry. The third time my socks were damp. Today my socks were wet. So for some reason my pair of boots did not get the waterproof layer. So it seems some of the boots are indeed waterproof but my pair isn't. So if the waterproof is the most important don't get these boots--some are and some aren't. I'll be wearing wool socks and investing in a can of waterproofing!

Bought these boots because of all the good reviews. Got them boot lace holes on left boot uneven. As far as comfortable right out of the box, didn't think so my self. Should return but keeping them, but the next pair of boots I buy will be keen. Won't be a returning customer.

I just returned from an agonizing walk which was cut short because of this boot. The spot where the tongue meets the sides folds right at the ankle causing painful rubbing on the ankle bone. After one slow mile I have not blisters, but skin scraped practically to the bone. Unfortunately, I have tossed the box or I would do something I have never done before: Return after wearing. What a waste of money! This boot does not even deserve one star.
