Cute, lightweight boot. I had to return because there just wasn't enough room in the toe box--a little thin.

I WANTED to love these and I did for the most part. However, I agree with some of the other reviewers. The one and only thing I didn't like about them (granted, I only wore them in my house), was the fact that the gusset on the tongue rubbed and dug into my ankle. The fabric from the gusset sticks out, so it's like there are 2 lumps on either side of the tongue. I am going to try experimenting with thicker socks, but I was really looking for something I could wear with a variety of socks. I don't know if the bumps and rubbing would go away with wear and time. If they were perfectly comfortable, then the price would be well worth it. But as it stands, I don't know if I want to gamble that much on the chance that the rubbing will go away before it causes a blister.

great shoe, but returning. I need more soul and arch support, period. The shoe felt great, light weight, great material.The soul is just not solid enough for my bad/flat feet. Would recommend them though. They are quite narrow

I purchased these boots since I liked the style and they aren't as bulky as other hiking shoes. They are more for hiking around the city, than the woods, but can be used on a hike if needed. They are true to size. I tie them snugly, so my feet don't slide forward. The toe box is nice and wide.

I have a hard time fitting in to hiking boots, but these are really comfortable. I've spent about 10 hours hiking in them and they are very comfortable (I wore them running errands and short stints just to make sure I'd be comfortable on a longer hike). The arch support is OK - could be better, but not bad. The best thing about these boots is that they are feather light! I don't get fatigued on a hike like I do with heavier boots. I've only had them a few weeks, so I can't speak to durability over time, but these are great looking hikers and comfortable right out of the box! I think these boots run a little bit small (but not quite a half size difference). I typically wear a 6.5M or sometimes 7. I ordered them in both sizes. I couldn't even get my foot into the 6.5. The 7 fit snugly (that's what I ended up keeping), but I can only wear a thin sock. Still, I really love the boots overall.

I really wanted to keep these boots. They were cuter than in the pictures, very comfy and easy to get on and off. But when I walked in them, they were loose in the heel and my toes bumped the front of the boot. Had to return.

I have problem feet and need excellent arch support or room for additional arch support/custom orthotics. These shoes were nearly perfect----except, the right boot seemed to have a lumpy area where the tongue is fastened to the boot which caused pain on my ankle area. Sadly, I had to return them, but I suspect they would work well for other people. Loved the style and they were very light-weight. Removable insole had room for custom insole. I'm still searching for a winter shoe..........

I have a pair of the sugarpine in the sneaker version and they run generously through the toe box...this boot in the same size is not as generous. I will try a 10.5 and see if this works.

Adorable, fit comfortably right out of the box, but 1/2 size too short.

This is a super cute and very light boot. But if you have a very high arch, this might not work for you. The tongue connects with the side of the boot--great it wont shift while you walk but with my high arches, I couldn't get my foot in the boot. If that's not your case, looks like a great boot.

I read the other reviews and ordered a 1/2 size up, which worked well with wool hiking socks. I bought these so I could start to hike with friends. Just completed my 1st 6-mile hike, and these boots were awesome! Wearing them in around the house first does help, as others suggested. I have a bruise right above one of my ankles from the side of the boot pushing onto my leg, but other than that I survived with no blisters, and my feet never hurt or ached. I had excellent traction as well. I'd definitely recommend these.

Great boot, but too small for me. I wear a 11.5 in running shoes, but was hoping this would work. My dress shoe size is 11.

ORDER AT LEAST 1/2 SIZE LARGER! I finally got it right on the 3rd try. My foot is between 7.5-8 so I usually buy 8s to accommodate my wide-ish foot. The Ahnu 8 was WAY too snug and short, so I exchanged for 8.5. My toes were all the way to the top of the boot, and the boot was still too narrow. Exchanged for a 9. They arrived last night. I took them for a 5 mile spin this morning and they are a go. Did not feel like I was breaking them in, it was all comfy walking. I'm thinking they will be just fine for when I am 6-7 days out on the trails next week! Stay tuned for an update! ZAPPOS makes shipping and exchanges so easy. I went through this all in 4 days!

I bought these for two field trips - Mount St. Helens and Kilauea. I wore these yesterday for the first trip to Mount St. Helens, and I wore them all day. Granted, we weren't hiking all day long - we were off and on a bus between stops, but these boots are very comfortable. The only thing I noticed is that they started to irritate the back of my ankles a little bit by the end of the day, but it wasn't horrible and they didn't leave any marks or anything like that. I definitely recommend these boots. By the way, they provide great ankle support!

Cute and comfortable boots but not tight enough around my ankles--and I have large ankles, so that was pretty shocking! They were laced up tightly but when I stood up there was too much give at the top. I want a boot that fits snugly to support my ankles while hiking.

I received these and automatically loved the way they looked. I wore them around the house to make sure this would be something I can wear on a 14er hike. Initially they were very comfortable. Unfortunately though it did not seem to loosen up on the sides. It appears they made them a bit too narrow for my feet. Super cute shoes though.

Definitely order up in size. I'm normally 10-10.5 and I'm returning to order an 11. Also, the Sugarpine color looked red on-line but is more dark pink.

I so, so wanted to keep these boots! They were very comfortable, my feet DID NOT get wet when I tested them in some puddles, my feet did not overheat despite the waterproof material, and I loved the look of them! However, one note of caution, these boots have very little traction on wet, slick surfaces. I had a slip and slide adventure navigating a bathroom that had a little water on the tiles. Even on wet asphalt, they don't have great traction. I purchased them for a week in Iceland, and with whale watching, waterfalls, and rain, I'm going to be navigating some wet terrain. I'll be using a pair of Merrels instead and returning these. So long as the climate isn't wet though, these are a great pair of boots!

I have an average width foot but these ran narrow so unfortunately I had to return them. So sorry 'cause I love them and would have kept them!

Nice and light. I had a little trouble with the tongue rubbing but I think you need to experiment with different socks to find your comfort zone. I like them a lot but if I am being honest I don't think I'd "rave" about it. It's a fine boot but I wouldn't re-buy similar.

I ordered these because I needed some semi warm, waterproof boots to walk my dogs. I wanted them to be comfortable like gym shoes but rugged like boots. These work well and are very comfortable. My only issue is that they are very warm but in a bad way. They make my feet feel sweaty and clammy. They are better if I am outside in the cold walking in them tho. I don't notice it as much when I'm moving because I think the movement helps push air through the fabrics but if you are sitting indoors they are almost unbearable to keep on because of that cold clammy feel they produce. I'm not sure how anyone could wear these in the summer but I'll probably try come warmer weather. I also found that it is better after I put my own insole in them. Maybe the one that comes with them is not breathable or moisture absorbing. Just wish they were made better with higher grade materials considering the price. They are comfy, however, and do suit the purpose.

Went slipping and sliding on my last little hike and realized it was time for boots with some traction. But most of them are so ugly! These are a good compromise - neutral enough to match your jacket or coat, but spunky enough to be cute - I picked the beige with pink trim and am very pleased. Comfortable too.

I needed a new pair of hiking boots that were reasonably priced and not ugly! These fit the bill! I got the cranberry color which is really a nice magenta. Very feminine. And they are super comfy as well. My only initial complaint was that they were a little tight across the toe box, right where the lacing begins. But I wore them around the house for a few days and they really loosened up in that area. Can't wait to go hiking in them!

Super cute and lightweight, and fun colors. But too narrow. It was almost wide enough, but no. Please make in a wide! Other issues were that I felt the crease in the ankle like other reviewers said and I also felt a crease in the top of the shoe by the toes when I walked. But man, they are so cute and lightweight that I really wanted to like them. Had to go back. Boo.

I always have to try many boots to get the right fit, these felt good immediately. I have very small heels and they fit snug and comfortable. I went for a hike and unfortunately one spot on the boot rubbed my bunions. These are great boots if you do not have bunions.
