I have both the boot and shoe versions of this item. The shoe fits fine, the boot is narrower. Shoes could use some padding on top to minimize pressure from laces. Despite other reviews I've read, I doubt they will be warm enough for our cold, snowy winters.

I was pretty excited bout these... and they may be everything they say. They were very comfortable and VERY warm! BUT, I think the yellow color combo is going to show a lot of dirt and start looking ratty too fast. LOVE them but the lighter, funky color combo I liked wasn't practical, they have to go back.

These are comfortable except they rub me around my upper ankle in a few place where the shoe's tongue bunches up. I am hoping that in time they will soften in this area.

Loved the look of this boot! I ended up getting Keen Gypsum Mid boots instead, simply because they were terrifically comfortable (but not nearly as good looking as these Ahnu's). I would have kept the Ahnu's except there was a fold in one of the boots near the tongue of the shoe, that rubbed the top of my foot and I figured that would not be a good thing. I wanted to keep them so badly, though - they are very attractive for a low boot/hiking shoe! I usually wear a 6 1/2 wide and I got a 7 M in these and they fit fine.

This little boot is SO sweet, however the water proof lining causes my feet to sweat really quickly. I ordered 1/2 size larger as suggested, but the heel was very loose, even when adding an extra cushiony insert. I do have a narrow foot and a bunion, which is usually difficult to fit. If your feet are narrow (and you don't have a bunion), maybe your normal size would do the trick?

Cool styling, very light weight! Fit my foot perfectly but with only one set of hooking grommets I can't get the shoe to fit as snuggly as I'd like.

Based on reviews I was hoping for more arch support, it was moderate to say the least. Love the color, love the style but it won't help with my PF. Thank you for your awesome return policy Zappos.

These boots had great traction through the 3 winters I wore them (including a November vacation in Iceland) and the waterproofing worked. I liked the red color. The cushioning completely broke down shortly into my ownership. They couldn't survive the 9 hour tramp through Bruges and Brussels and my feet were dry but broken. After that they were good only for the short parking lot treks in the winter.

I own multiple pairs of these shoes. I love the shoes even though I would have preferred more natural colors. Recently I keep returning these shoes because they are not waterproof. My old pair (purple) is still waterpfroof. The one I keep ordering is in mulch color. I want one in mulch that's waterproof. Zappos said they will look into it. I'll try again if I have reason to think that the quality control issue is resolved. I wanted to write this review to warn others. You don't want to risk your life on some cold and rainy mountaintop with these shoes. Test them under shower first.

I tried this boot in a 9, then a 9 1/2. Still had to return. Although I loved the style and color, it was just too low in the toe box for me. Thanks Zappos for the easy returns.

I want to LOVE these boots. They are supportive and waterproof and are a great cross between a hiking boot and a sneaker...more of a walking boot. BUT there are a couple of points where the stitching comes together on the tongue that feel like little rocks against my ankle when I lace up the boot. I'm ordering another pair and will update.

These boots were so cute. I really wanted to like them, but they were pretty uncomfortable.

Super cute and fantastically lightweight but still sturdy. But very narrow. I will unfortunately have to return these.

I really love the way these hiking boots look and they are stylish without being bulky; however, these are not for anyone who has a wide foot. I am normally a size 7.5 in shoes and an 8 in hiking boots, but I had to get an 8.5 in these just to make them feel like they fit. They felt comfortable when walking around the house and even on shorter hikes, but I just did a 12 mile mountain hike this weekend and my heels were aching and my pinky toes were crushed. In fact, they were so painful on the downhill stretches of trail, that I'm worried I might end up losing a toenail. Again, I didn't have any of these issues on shorter hikes, so these might be great for that, but not for a longer mountain hike with wide feet. Zappos has the most amazing customer service ever and really helped me out with these!

I chose this particular boot because I needed a light weight waterproof hiking boot. The reviews were overall excellent. Here's my take: They run half a size small, but I read this in the reviews, so I ordered up. In a size 9 they don't look as pretty as in the photo. My feet get too warm for comfort. Still need to find out how they hold up in the rain.

I love these boots! They are very comfortable, solid, and lightweight. They are so easy to walk in I would rather wear them than anything else. As other people have said it is important to purchase a size larger. I have not had any problem with water getting in or cold feet, but I do live in Georgia (re: cold) Last week 3 different people asked about my boots and complimented me on them. I continue to refer them to Ahnu! I am now looking for a short pair to wear in the summer.

Warm. Comfy. Repels dirt and water well. Cute. The only reason these aren't perfect is the traction. These are more of a light hiker or athletic shoe. I never thought twice about running up and down a wet muddy hill before. Slippery slopes and these boots don't mix. Need to be better for real hiking.

I really wanted to love these but after wearing them around my house for part of the past three days I have to say they just are not comfortable. They are cute, however.

The boots were previously worn by the dirty bottoms. I contacted customer service via the email option and sent pictures but it seems like I need to go through my account or somewhere to have this documented so that I can return them after my planned hike on Saturday. I was trying to avoid any hassle by ordering through Zappos but it turns out this has become much more inconvenient than going to a store.

These felt very comfortable, but there is a spot on the tongue of the left shoe that pressed against my ankle and hurt when I walked. Wanted these to fit perfectly, but it just hurt too much, so I'm sending them back. I usually wear size 6.5 shoe. I ordered size 7 and it fit in length with Smart Wool hiking sock.

Very comfortable right out of the box; a little on the narrow side, but that worked for me. I was very excited to break them in, in anticipation of an upcoming hiking trip but I have to return them because they have absolutely no traction on wet surfaces. Quite treacherous.

I really wanted these boots to work out because I love the color (Deep Teal). Unfortunately they did not work for my large, flat feet. In most shoe brands I wear an 11, but for these I would need an 11.5 -- which they don't make. Also, and possibly even more importantly, they are not nearly supportive enough for a hiking boot. The sole is thin and way too flexible, not just at the forefoot but all the way back. It felt like a tennis shoe (that is, even thinner and bendier than a running shoe). I could tell my feet would be exhausted and aching by the end of a day just walking around town, let alone hiking.

The Color is shocking pink, a bit much for a utility show. The fit was OK but shoe upper material felt very stiff, had no give to it. I prefer a shoe with more flexibility.

I have a wide foot and usually have to go up a size to compensate. So I did again. I wear a ten until shoes started to become more narrow for women. The box is not as wide esp with boot socks. Went with ski socks that were thinner and it was better. Unfortunately with this boot I have a little too much room bc of the size 11 and my foot will slide forward and my toes will hate me while hiking down hill. They are a little darker than shown, pretty comfortable for walking which I did around the house. But that's not why I wanted them Great reviews shame they do not come in wide. I have to return them. Zappos is great though.

I really wanted these to be wonderful! I love the styling, the multiple color options, the significant tread, the low profile (not bulky at all), and the surprising lightness of the boot. I wear either an 8.5 or 9 (so I ordered both) and have a narrow, flat foot. I only tried on the 9s and they were immediately too tight across the top of the balls of my feet. I had corrective bunion surgery 8 years ago (i.e., I no longer have pain in that area) but do not like tight shoes (and you know your feet are going to swell as you hike!) so I am reluctantly returning them and trying something else.
