I love my shoes! I have physical problem on my right side of my body, which has made finding a comfortable shoe very hard. This shoe is very comfortable. I have walked in them for 10 hours at The Pepsi Arena in Colorado at the WOF conference 2013. I own no other shoe that I can stay in that long. I'm ordering the Black next month.

Beautiful styling, nice arch, quality leather and construction. Alas, the fit was too narrow in the toes and bunion for me. Other Dansko shoes are a clog design while this one is more regular shoe. I like the flexible sole and the low heel.

I've worn these daily to work forthe last two years with my orthotics subbed in for their footbed. I walk on hard concrete all day as well as carpet and I log 5 miles a day. After the firt 8 months the velcro strap would pop off while walking. Imagine my distress when crossing a street! Now I rub it back and forth a few times to develop a really good grip but this doesnt always work. As the shoes are all leather, they accommodate my late afternoon swelling and they stretch. I believe thais is what causes the problem. Also, the heel is not wide or stable as it could be, given that the shoe offers minimal structural support for the heel and ankle. A wider heel without the beveled edged would compensate better for heel and ankle roll. If they can stand up to the amount of walking I do, they are well made. My feet are a 41 and I have plantar fascitis. The shoes never feel tight, and they look dressier than oxfords.

The Dansko Opal seriously saved my life. I work as a Pantry Chef where I'm on my feet running around like a mad woman in the kitchen. If it weren't for these shoes there's no way I could work 8-12 hour days. My feet never fatigue anymore. I used to have knock-off Dansko-style clogs. When I got out of bed in the morning it felt like I was walking on needles. These shoes are an investment. And get ready for compliments! I actually saw my university professor wearing them and stopped her saying, "I must get a pair." They're multi-generational. Only 1 complaint: they leave black dye all over my feet. No-show socks will help with this, but I still have a black strap mark across the top of my foot. It may be the amount of wear I'm putting into them, perhaps some of the kitchen grease and water? It started on day one and is still dying my feet about a month later. And it doesn't scrub off in the shower easily.

Great fit, super comfortable. I am able to wear these all day without any problems. In my previous pair, the black leather, the velcro strap does seem to loose its strength after a while...that would be the only downside.

I've been wearing these shoes to work for several months now. I had foot surgery and these are one of the few styles that fit my feet. They're well made and stylish. Looks nice with skirts and dresses. I ordered a 39 because a 40 was way too big (usually a 40 in Birkenstock).

I think these are the cutest professional looking shoes that I have owned. I love the Mary Jane look and the cut out nook on the upper part. However, I seriously cannot tell if these shoes fit well or not. I work on my feet all day, and jumped right in to these shoes That night when I got home, I noticed a blister on the ball of my right foot and extreme black marks around the heel area of my feet. Blah, blah, blah 7½-8 is usually my size yet ordering a 8½-9 seems too big! These are so cute and I get so many compliments. What is a girl to do?

I already own this shoe and wanted to replace the worn out ones. However, they don't fit the same and hurt my feet. Too bad because this was one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

Wanted this shoe for lots of walking in cities when traveling, looks better than sport shoes. A bit stiff, I needed to stretch them out and break in to be comfortable. The sole is good for sidewalks and cobblestones. I love the Velcro strap with the decorative silver button feature.

I wear Dansko's all the time, and I've always taken the same size. This one runs way small! I'm sending it back to try another size up. I might even try 2 sizes up. I'm not used to Dansko's being nearly this tight!

Great shoes, however they run small. I have had more than 20 pairs of Dansko, always wearing a size 39. Had to exchange for a size bigger, which is about a half size too big.

I love this shoe. My problem is that I'm 64 and my feet ache. There is no soft landing in these shoes. Even with my orthotics they are hard. If I was younger I would have kept these shoes. I love Dansko.

Great shoe! Is comfortable, fits well and looks lovely. Useful as both casual and dress. Only thing I don't like is the replacement of a buckle with Velcro.

I have really enjoyed these shoes. My orthotics fit in them nicely. They seem a bit larger than the 38 I ordered (like 38.25, but that doesn't exist). The velcro surface area is small, and the fabric itself isn't too substantial, so it has the habit of popping open with a ripping noise when I bend my foot deeply (as when I am squatting to pick up a pencil or going up the stairs). The shoes are cute and stylish. First pair of Danskos I have owned...most likely not the last!

Dansko does not disappoint. I was able to wear them right out of the box, no breaking in needed. The velcro-closure strap does a really nice job of keeping my foot in place; the shoe is roomy enough for my slightly wide feet, but not too roomy. The second day I wore them I inadvertently ended up walking through several deep slush-puddles, soaking my feet. But the shoes dried quickly and still look good.

These were a present for my wife for Christmas. She loves the shoes, but the strap is held by Velcro and the Velcro does not hold very well on one shoe.

Great shoes (with one problem - see below). I'm in love with this deep red finish. They are so comfortable, with good arch support. I wear 8.5 and the 39s fit perfectly - unfortunately, when I tighten the strap all the way (I have skinny feet), the alignment of the strap and underlying Velcro tab is wrong, and the Velcro shows, which ruins the look of the shoe.

These shoes are so cute, but...they seem to run short and are more narrow in the toe box than other Danskos, so they must be returned.

Narrow fit for average foot. Cute style. Learned the hard way that Dansko shoes don't really expand even with shoe stretchers. Sad to send back.

This seems to be a high-quality shoe, but didn't work for me. I'm getting bunions and it is quite stiff across the wide part of the foot. Curiously, though, the lack of flexibility in the sole is a good thing for many people.

I have had my Opals for a couple of years and I have really liked them for comfort, style. The one major complaint I have with them is the Velcro attachment. It gradually stopped gripping and the strap, being in a key motion spot on my foot would pop open while I was walking or climbing stairs, what have you. If Dansko switched the attachment to an actual buckle, these shoes would have been my go to pair. As it is, they're unreliable for walking about, and my work requires me to be active and on my feet, so they now occupy a back corner in my closet.

For the price, these shoes should be a lot more comfortable than they are. They feel rigid and like I would really want to be taking them off of after awhile. Also run small.

This shoe looks very much like it's designed for Irish dancing. I'm willing to sacrifice some style for comfort though, as I am a teacher and on my feet all day. Sadly, this shoe's comfort level was just average. It was not worthy of Dansko, in my opinion, or the sacrifice in style. I'm sending it back and going for clogs. I'm disappointed, I was hoping for Dansko comfort with a lower heel.

I am keeping this shoe since it is so hard to find supportive women's shoes in large sizes. However, I had to put a an insert in it. There is very little arch support and padding. I put an Aetrex orthotic with arch and metatarsal support in and it is okay. For this price I shouldn't have to do that though.

The look and comfort of the shoe are nice; however, I am not a fan of the Velcro fastener for the strap. If you do a significant amount of walking/moving throughout the day, this may not be the shoe for you. The strap often pops open when I crouch or squat down to pick things up off the ground. A comfortable, attractive shoe, but not my favorite.
