I am really impressed with this boot. I have wide feet with a high arch. I typically wear a size 9 shoe and tried this boot on in sizes 8, 9, and 9.5. The 8 fit with my toes at the tip. I ordered my usual size 9, rationalizing the fit would be right based on the size 8 fit my wide foot. Nope, had to go to a 9.5 in order to experience the full aspect of boots. With the 9.5, I am able to slip the boot off easily and accommodate smart-wool or moisture socks when temperatures are frigid. Initially, I was concerned the foot bed would feel synthetic and slippery and I planned on buying shearling liners to wear in the boot, however, this is not the case. The footbed is very comfortable, does not make my foot sweat and is very warm. I have been not wearing socks at all with the boot which is very convenient for frequent dog walks. The boot is perfect crossing slushy puddles and no water or salt stains as with my other boots. I live in a college town where practically every coed wears the Ugg boot. The Ugg is too young (for me) and not practical enough to chase after kids in dogs in snow banks. This Sorel Glacy boot is perfect for my lifestyle.

My daughter (18) has shopped for warm winter boots for weeks until this Sorel. She has extremely high arches and nothing gave her enough support, especially to do lots of college campus walking in slippery snow and ice. This shoe is amazing! We bought the Saddle/Fossil color and it looks more gray/light brown with even a touch of olive. It is kind of hard to describe the color, but whatever it is, my daughter loves it. I ordered her the size 9 although she normally wears a 9 1/2 because every other boot she tried was a little large, but this is really true to size. We are returning this for a half size larger. Her big toe just bumped the end of the boot enough to be really annoying. I tried it on since I normally wear a 9 and it fit perfectly. Strangely enough, even though my arches are just "normal" these boots felt wonderful to me also! We have never found shoes that we both loved! One more thing to note is the boot seems extremely well made and durable. It looks like it will last for years.

The Glacy is a very attractive boot because of the elegant design none of the usual buckles or baubles nice clean lines instead. I like it. Plus, it is waterproof - important in winter out here on the Olympic Peninsula. However, it was not a good fit for my somewhat narrow foot. My usual size range is 8 to 8.5. (The shoe that fits me the absolute best is Nike. In the Nike I wear an 8.5.) I ordered this Sorel Glacy in an 8. As soon as I put it on I knew it was not for me. My big toes hurt. At first I thought it might be that the boot was too short and I might need an 8.5 but after sitting in them for a bit I realized that there was plenty of room in the toe-box. I think that the problem was that they were too wide, which even when I wore socks, caused my foot to drift to the front of the boot when I walked, more or less jamming my toes up into the toe-box. Plus, the toe-box is almost like a steel-toed boot in that the tip is rigid, not soft. Had to return. Thanks Zappos.

It took forever (5 tries) to get the right boot, but these are PERFECT - they run a tiny bit big. I usually wear a 7.5 shoe but the 7.5 of this boot were too big. The 7 is just right. Very cute and comfortable.

These Sorel Glacys look like Uggs, but they are more durable, waterproof (yes, waterproof), warmer, and perkier. Uggs tend to get soggy and smelly when wet and saggy and wrinkly with creases over the course of time. If these Sorel Glacys are anything like my Sorel Sukas I bought five years ago, then I know they will be functional for many years to come in the rainy Pacific NW. Not to mention, they are really adorable. One thing to note, but this is common sense. The British Tan is a beautiful color, but due to its lighter color, dirt and debris becomes more visible. I have just brushed dirt off with a hard-bristled toothbrush and it looks okay.

WIDE FOOT PEOPLE-LOOK NO FURTHER! Finally, after trying countless options there iS A WINNER FOR EVERY DAY USE. Like most other people, I was an UGG person but I needed something waterproof and these are considerably less expensive. Warning though, you can't wear these barefoot like Uggs and my foot sweats. My Uggs are a 9 and in these my toe touched the top which drove me crazy. The 9.5 is a little big but comfy. Width is heavenly and they loosed slightly after a day of wear. so glad I found these!

I am returning my purchase because these boots do not work for my feet, but I think they're wonderful and I so wish they fit my feet better. They're very comfortable, not just because they're Ugg-like but also because they have a fair level of arch support. Inside, the footbed is not just soft but cushon-y and feel supportive. Easy to put on and take off. The problem I had was that, although they don't actually seem to be smaller than sized (I can wear thick camping socks inside with no problem), my toes kept hitting the front of the boots. Maybe they are actually too big, and my feet are sliding inside. I don't know. In any case, I am typically size 5 and did order these boots in size 5, and when I try to walk, they feel "as if they are half size too small." My feet are narrow, instep low.

I was looking for a waterproof boot for frigid Minnesota winters (this one being especially so), and the Glacy is shaping up beautifully. It's got a very comfortable footbed, and great grip. (I used to have Uggs, which have zero traction, and was tired of falling on my behind.) The height is good, and the shaft is big enough to tuck the bottom of my pants in, even with my wide calves.

These boots are fantastic if you are looking for warm, waterproof, and comfortable winter boots. I wore them for a weekend on Mackinac Island, MI, with lots of snow, and my feet were always warm. Even though they are flat, like Uggs, they are very comfortable with just enough support. I usually wear an 8 with no socks but I ordered an 8.5 to wore with smart wool socks and it was perfect.

This shoe fits perfectly. My daughter normally wears a 9 1/2 and this is what we bought after returning a size 9. It is a very comfortable and well made boot. She has already worn this during some very cold temps and her feet stayed toasty warm.

I really love these boots. They are incredibly comfortable and keep my toes nice and warm. I don't live in a climate that gets extreme winters, so I can't vouch for how well these would hold up to extreme cold. They are not super tall boots so take a look at the measurements to make sure they are what you need. Color is accurate to picture, and they are fairly true to size. They leave enough room to wear thick socks. They have good tread on the bottom for slippery surfaces. These are super cute and a great alternative to Uggs (which I hate!)

I bought these in the British tan/saddle color. I was a bit concerned because the color is so light and I figured they would be filthy almost immediately, but it was the only color in my size and I was in desperate need of a winter/snow boot. I have been pleasantly surprised that they have actually maintained their color through a few winter storms, and I definitely use these in a lot of snow, and worse yet, mucky, slushy messes. We have had a few storms dump between six and 10 inches over the last several days and these have done extraordinarily well. I expected to have my feet freezing, but they've done well in that department also with just a fairly light wool sock. Our temperatures have dropped into negative degrees Fahrenheit and they've still done very well. In regard to sizing I am typically between 7 1/2 - 8, and my foot is just slightly wide of normal. I bought these in an 8 and there is plenty of room to wear thick socks (even though it really doesn't seem necessary in these boots). I marked these as "true to width" because I expect this type of boot to be wider than the normal. My foot does move around a bit within the shoe so if that is bothersome you may want to size down. The only problem with sizing down could be that the toes would likely touch the end of the boot. I also have muscular, wide calves - and I'm shorter (just under 5'4", w/short legs) - so I was concerned about the shaft opening and where it would hit me. Everything worked out fine and they hit just as my calf starts to get wide. I wasn't looking for something that fit like a glove but rather that I could traipse around in the snow and slush and they work great for these purposes. I take my dogs on 1-2 mile walks, I've walked around frozen lakes/trails, and sloughed through malls without issue. As far as slipping on ice and snow goes these seem to do pretty well. As a bit of background, I'm a complete klutz on ice so I need to have sure footing under me. I'm not sure that anything works on sheets of ice, and these are really no different. Still have to take my time when walking across large patches of solid ice. On every other surface these seem to be great... Be that lots of snow, slightly frozen snow, small patches of ice, slush, mud, etc. I have had my feet submerged under several inches of snow and these still keep me warm. This was my first purchase of Sorel boots and I think it was a great one...they seem to live up to their reputation and I would not hesitate to buy again.

These boots are a little more industrial/rugged looking then Uggs, but the main thing is how tight it is getting your heel in. I have a really high arch so I think that plays a part in it. But it was painful trying to get my foot in. Once I did get my foot in it was very comfy to walk in. But given the more rugged look and how hard it was to get my foot in I'm returning them.

I wanted to wait until I could try these boots out in the snow which was my intention when I bought these boots. Well, it finally snowed here and I’m pleased to say these boots performed better than expected! Until today, I wore these boots in two mike dog walks, without socks in soggy, wet grass and they were great. As other reviews mention, they have a rubber sole that’s “bouncy” and very waterproof. I’ve been babying the “suede like”outside (like my Uggs) but they seem impervious to much staining from grass and water, so another pli.us there. Today, I wore them in fresh snow in grassy and asphalt conditions (the reason I bought them because my waterproof Uggs got cold and they were slippery on snow/ice). Not these! They kept my feet warm and dry (I did wear socks in the snow) and I didn’t slip on the snow and ice. Just for reference,I’m a 60 year old women who values style and comfort. These Sorrels met both expectations. Haven’t driven in them yet (they kind of feel like my Wellies so I’m afraid they won’t flex or allow me to “feel”the pedals) but for walks...I highly recommend them!

These boots are easy to love. Warm and comfy, and cute as sin. The style allows for a lot of versatility — really adds some punch to a basic “knockaround” look.
That being said ... they’re not for every cold situation. Those nubs on the sole? Fantastic for snow, rain, or just dry cold weather. Ice on the deck? Those tractionless nubs become little Death Bringers. They will straight up murder you.
YOU WILL FALL, AND IT WILL BE HARD.

These are nice boots that would be very comfortable and most likely very warm if they fit, but alas! They do not and the next size is out of stock.

I have now purchased these boots four times in various sizes. I love the boots - perfect Uggs alternative - similarly easy to pull on and off, hopefully as warm, but with an actually comfortable arch/sole and waterproof! And frankly cuter - I like the gym shoe like stripe around the rubber sole. That said, and I am surprised that it did not come up more often in other reviews, it definitely definitely ran really small/short on me. The width, general size etc. seemed just fine - perfect in fact - but it was oddly short. My toes were crammed up against the front. For perspective: I usually wear a 7, and am keeping the 8. The 7½ was still way too short, and while I might have actually kept the 8½ for length, it was just getting too big/roomy elsewhere. So, bottom line - I love the boots but think you have to go up a full size for the extra length!

I bought these boots for a winter trip to Scotland, I just logged on to buy another pair. I walked or hiked 5 to 10 miles a day, in frigid, wet and muddy conditions and these boots performed wonderfully! The traction was excellent, my feet were always warm and dry and I can't say enough about the comfort! Even when they got muddy, I would wait for the mud to dry and brush the mud off the boot and they would look as good as new. They look a lot like Uggs but they have arch support and you can walk for miles without your feet hurting. I LOVE these boots and highly recommend them. I will also be buying another pair!

I was looking for a pair of boots with that casual, cabin chic look similar to Uggs (which I cannot wear because they have NO support). These boots have a great insole. They actually feel "springy". Fit is true to size...very happy with my purchase.

Thers are adorable but run big. I am a straight up 9.5 - in most brands and I'd read so many different opinions on how the boots run - it was really confusing - so I went with what usually works. But I should have ordered a 9. As for the feel - I totally get what people were saying about the bottom of the insole - it could be more cushy and cozy like the sides are. But still not bad - these are boots, not slippers. Where as, I think Uggs are more slipper like. Speaking of Uggs...I get why people love them. But man, I just could never bring myself to buying what the entire world has. I just couldn't. But I loved the idea of them. So this is similar - but better. Styling is just plain cooler. I love the white color of the sole, almost like a tennis shoe. So it's kinda sporty. So super cute on! I got the fossil color which looks fantastic - it's sharp, smart, and a little different. Super happy...but the size! So getting some soles as another reader has suggested.
