I have looked and looked and looked for some cute boots this year that would give me some height. These boots are rich looking and feel great. I could walk for miles and miles. I removed the insole that was in there, Yeah! the insole is removable, Score, and put a different one because I have plantar fasciitis. I have returned numerous boots because they were too narrow in the front of the boot. This one is not. It is just the best boot ever. Don't hesitate on this one. I wear them and carry my Louboutin Handbag. Lots and lots of compliments.

I so enjoy wearing my Sorel Joan of Arctic boots! Comfortable. The color is a bit different than the picture online. I purchased the Dark Fossil color. It may be the light on the ones in the picture making them appear more of a cognac color. Anywho, they are still cute! So far 4 people today alone have complimented me on them. I bought them last weekend & got them yesterday and like a kid at Xmas, I already have them on at work. Thanks Hubby!

Really glad I listened to the reviews; I usually wear a size 7 but I went a half size smaller. The 6.5 fit perfectly. I can't believe how comfortable these are! And they are SO beautiful. The quality is clear just by looking at them. You get what you are paying for. I bought two other Sorel boots because I love these so much, and they are equally comfortable/beautiful! Sorel has a new groupie.

First of all - these are super stylish and surprisingly comfortable. Very sturdy and great grip for walking on ice. I've been using these to walk in slushy/icy sidewalks in the city - they are awesome. As for size, which many have commented on - I normally wear a 9.5 in gym shoes or whatever. I ordered these in a 9.5. They fit very well with thick wool socks, which is how I like to wear them because it's very cold outside. If you do not plan to wear them when it's cold and snowy, but just rainy, you should size down and wear more normal thinner socks.

Love! At first I thought these would hurt my toes but after wearing them for an hour with good socks...wow! Headed to Europe again soon and for a February trip they will see all the great cities! Ordered a half size smaller due to comments by other buyers.

Thanks for the detailed reviews, ladies! I have been watching these boots all winter. But I wasn't sure about the purchase. Fit, price, comfort, etc. But for me going down a half size was perfect and I'm so happy about my purchase. I will be purchasing more Sorel in the very near future. This shoe is worth every penny. They feel like butter inside and out. I'm sold.

I was quite excited to get this boot for my commute. My commute is approx. a half-mile walk, light rail, and another half-mile walk. I wore these boots for 10 minutes to take my dog out and my feet got cold. So, they have to go back. It is too bad because the traction was great on the ice.

Love how these look. In person they seem extremely high quality and awesome. These were too roomy in the heel for me. I have normal to slightly narrow feet. They were also quite stiff although I would imagine they would loosen up. I would have given them more days to try out the fit but the main problem is they don't work with skinny jeans. The ankle is fairly fitted, there isn't enough room for jeans to go under. So they would work with stretch pants or shorter skinny jeans (ankle length maybe?). I tend to wear full length skinny jeans a lot so these won't work for me.

These boots are seriously great. I was a little hesitant about them at first because of their height and the fact that they're wedges (I'm 5'8" already!), but actually really enjoy wearing them and being taller than the snow and slush. The traction is great, I've walked in them on ice and snow and felt confident. The leather is beautiful (more dark grey than black) and waterproof. I wanted them mainly to be able to wear a boot that worked for walking in the snow and walking right into work wearing them with dresses and skirts. They look good with skinny jeans or leggings tucked into them too. After years of trying alternatives (rain boots, hiking boots, cheap ugly boots) and never being satisfied in the winter, I finally decided it was worth making an investment in some more versatile boots. I'm happy I did! They have a hard core look and make me feel powerful, which to me is the measure of a great boot: does it make me feel something while also being stylish and comfortable? These definitely do the job. I'm already dreaming up more new outfits to wear with them, and looking forward to wearing them all winter long.

I'm not a review writer generally, but these deserve five stars and a few words. I just came back from ice climbing in Ouray, Colorado. I demo'd some mountaineering and ice climbing boots while I was there and those were great when I needed technical boots. On my last day, I really just wanted to hike around and explore so I threw these on. I was blown away to find that on the same trails I had hiked with technical boots, these actually had better traction and they kept my feet just as warm and dry (it was snowing that day and in the 20s and 30's the whole time I was there). I noticed lots of people give me worried looks as I passed by wearing these up and down steep slopes, but I just laughed to myself and kept tromping by. Total confidence in this boot and damn, it looks good too.

I love these boots! I love the style of functional, rugged, wintery boots and the minute I saw these I had to have them. Definitely worth the price tag. Great quality, incredibly comfortable and great soles. Currently with 5 degree temps they keep my feet warm enough to wear out for a bit. Great laced up or with the tops/sides folded down. I typically wear an 8 - 8.5 in shoes and with other reviews that these ran big, I bought an 8. They fit pretty good, still slightly big, but fine with thick socks. Buy these!

Love this boot. Normally I wear anywhere between a 10 to an 11 but usually boots require a size 11 so I ordered an 11 in these, too big. I got a 10 and while the length was fine the rest of the boot felt a little tight at first. However, they seemed to loosen up a bit as I walked around. These boots are more comfortable than any other shoe I own and I own a lot of shoes! Sorel is now my shoe/boot of choice...just love them! Zappos made the exchange of sizes so easy I am no longer concerned about the hassle if I need to swap out sizes, thanks Zappos!

Wow! Not only is this a super stylish boot that is both water/snow proof, it's beyond comfortable and sturdy even with a 3.25" wedge! They are very versatile: skinny jeans, skirts/dresses and performance gear. I will say that they do feel at least a half to full size larger (I usually take a size 9 and ordered an 8.5). Keeping the 8.5 even tho it's a little big and wearing a thicker sock - given the incredible construction, these will be in my arsenal until I can no longer walk in a wedge heel, absolute perfection all the way around!

Love them. Comfortable and great looking. Don't usually wear heels and I am very comfortable in these.

These boots are awesome and worth every penny! I've never thought they could be that comfortable. I wear them pretty much 12-14 hours every day and have to walk a lot, no pain at all! This is the first pair I've been able to break in without any blisters or pain.

These boots are amazing. I read the reviews and they sounded good, but you truly can't appreciate them until they are on your feet. I love my regular Sorels, but I wanted something fun and dressier to wear to work. I opted for the Grill/Black color and it is so much sexier in person. It's hardcore, yet feminine. They're comfortable, gorgeous and tough. They have held up to -8 degree Midwest temperatures, slush and snow. Sometimes I wish they were lined, I think out of habit of wanting to put on warm thick socks with boots, but I really like the shoe-like feel of these. I can wear a light sock and still be warm and comfortable, but I would not be able to wear anything thicker, like I can with my regular Sorels. I also want to address the wedge -- I thought for sure there would be some breaking in time, but no! It was extremely comfortable right off the bat and no issues with long periods of walking or standing. Someone else said it in a review and I completely agree: shoemakers, take note, this is what women want.

Wore these boots to NFL game (lots of walking, lots of standing) super comfortable. True to size. Kind of black, kind of brown so you can wear with either color. Love them. Christmas present to myself! Best gift I got. Worth the money.

Love these boots. They have become my absolute favorite. They are so comfortable even with the wedge heel. I love that they are more "dressy" than other all weather boots so you can still look nice even if the weather is bad. I usually wear a 7.5 or 8 and ordered the 7.5.

These are awesome. The fit is just slightly roomy. I have wide feet and always purchase 1/2 size larger because of this. My boots are a little long, but width is good, even accounting for thick socks. They are perhaps oversized by 1/4. Cute and pretty comfortable.

I'm a casual dresser (jeans and sweater) so I like comfortable shoes but my shoes need to be the dressier side of me (and a little jewelry). These shoes are perfect. They go along with my casual look but add a little dressiness due to the heel and the silver rivets and orange/tan detail above the sole on the front. (I got the black ones). They kind of have a combat boot look but not so boyish. And...very comfortable even after a full day of walking in them.

These boots are wonderful! They are comfortable and look great. They fit true to size and yet I have room for warm socks. They keep me warm and dry. I would highly recommend them.

These boots are very comfortable and stylish. I ordered my normal size 7½ and they fit perfectly with everyday/slim socks. I have not tested the waterproof ability of these boots yet so I cannot comment but while I was wearing these in 32°F temperatures, my toes did get quite cold. I was outdoors by a firepit on new years for about an hour to give you some context. I purchased these with the intention of looking more fashionable versus practical (these do look great with leggings and could be worn with tights/dresses). I ordered a size to fit wearing my normal socks or tights but I do not think that I could fit warmer socks in these boots based on the size that I selected. Then again I am sometimes on the cusp of needing wide shoes in certain brands. My dad even commented on how he liked the appearance of these boots, and he is not really one to notice things like that. So if dad notices them, they must be fashionable.

Simply amazing buy! They are stylish yet functional! And the wedge is so comfortable I can go the whole day in them. I adore these, definitely worth the extra money!

I do not write reviews normally but if you are on the fence about buying these because of the price, I would say go for it. They are worth it and you will wear them as often as possible. I have wide feet and they are still so comfortable and easy to walk in that I almost do not even notice the wedge in them. I went with the brownish color and they are more like a dark truffle that can stand in for black or brown. They could not be more perfect. The style is rugged and cool but still feminine and attractive. I am normally between an 8½ and a 9. I went with 8½ and they have room enough for thick socks in the winter, but are not too loose for thinner socks. They are just perfect. Seriously. You need these.
