I've ordered these shoes many times over the last few years for school. Comfort and fit are good. The quality is great and they hold up all school year - the only downside is the navy color fades rather quickly. I bought a large tin of navy shoe polish to bring them back to their best every month - it's a pain - but I'd rather have leather to polish, than the synthetic options.

My daughter has naturally wide feet plus she wears orthotic devices to support her weak ankles. It is SOOO hard to find shoes wide enough to fit her - especially dressy shoes. I was so pleased to find this cute Mary Jane in an extra wide. I purchased the size she normally wears with her orthotics (one size larger than her actual foot size) but they didn't work. Not even in extra wide. So I returned them (thanks for such easy returns Zappos!) and ordered the next size up, still extra wide. We are able to use these, but they are a bit too long in the toe and she occasionally stumbles or trips as a result. I'm not complaining that the shoes are too long because I did go up a size, but I am complaining that on an extra wide width it was even necessary to go up a size in length. Extra wide should be extra wide, but I have found that most stride rites are really about a width less than they call it. I wish NB made suitable shoes for dressy occasions. They say extra wide and really mean it! Very pleased with quality of shoe, though, and Zappos is always great! Thanks for always having what my daughter needs!

My daughter has narrow feet and these are a good fit, but the black wears down very quickly, they need to be polished a lot or they look old and worn, actually even with putting shoe polish on the a lot they look old and crummy quickly.

Did not last for my 7 year old daughter passed one month in school. They became faded and worn looking. not what I usually experience with Stride Rite.

With all the Stride Rite brick and mortar stores seemingly disappearing, it was great to find these reliable school shoes available on Zappos. Like any leather shoe that gets loads of wear, they require a bit of upkeep (shoe polish) as the year wears on, but my daughter reports they are comfortable.

I ordered these shoes for my daughter who has a very high instep and a wide foot. She is in second grade and needed shoes for school. These shoes arrived in record time and the fit was perfect. She said they were very comfortable and did not cut across the top of her foot. They appear well constructed and they are cute.

I am very disappointed. This shoes hurts my daughter feet very badly. It is not comfortable for school. Don't buy it, or you will loose your money.

My granddaughter loves them. I'm returning them for a bigger size. She needs wiggle room.

Perfect for my daughter’s school uniform. Held up well to near daily use and now ordering the next size up. Daughter complained about them hurting the first few times she wore them, but never mentioned another word thereafter. Very happy with this purchase.

Needed these for my daughters new private school and they are perfect. Like that they are well made and supportive, hope they last the whole year! (until she outgrows them)

Seemed a little big, but otherwise a great shoe!

Have to return for size larger. Recommend sizing up. We’ve been buying this style for both girls since they were toddlers. I wish the toes didn’t scuff up easily but they are sturdy for school and I know they’ll never fall off.

Shoe has been great! Daughter is very hard on shoes.. plays hard and they are very sturdy. Yes. They get scuffed.. she is 6. Not sure how you could keep shoes in perfect shape if you want your child to be a child. I am buying a second pair now for the next 6 months or so! We love them!!
