This boot is beautiful! The color is rich, the leather smells wonderful, and it is well-made. However, it is tight around the calf and foot -- although I ordered in my size, there is no way I could get into these while wearing socks and jeans. It also rubs too much where the strap goes across the front, but I'll order up a half size and see if that fixes the problem.

I ordered these in size 6 Redwood and wrote a glowing review. However, after wearing a few more times around the house, the harness ring began rubbing very uncomfortably at the bottom of my ankle bone. I didn't notice this the first time I tried them on. I have other Frye harness styles and this is not an issue with them at all. Plus, because the leather of this boot is the stiffer smooth full grain and the top of the shaft has that angled cut, the shaft top sticks out on the sides of my slim calves. Not very attractive. However, the Redwood color is truly gorgeous and for ladies with larger calves, this boot would look striking. But for the price and fit issues I had to sadly send these back.

These are very nice boots but I couldn't keep them because they felt a little tight/narrow in my regular size 10. But the biggest reason I have to return them is the calf was huge, more like 16" in a size 10 and I really need 14." It would be nice if calf sizes were provided for each shoe size.

If buying and wearing shoes was only about how they looked this one is a dream! Gorgeous Boot...great color and style. Now the reality. The Calf is tight!! I wanted to stretch them to fit, but the horizontal seam at the top with the inside zip made that a No-Go. I usually wear a 8.5 in Frye as i own four other pairs...I bought a 9 so I could add some comfort/support inside and wear these for work. The size 9 only gave room in the toe box. The rest of the foot bed felt perfect but gave no extra space. The arch/heel support is no existent. With much sadness this beauty had to go back.

I loved these boots but sadly they are too narrow for me and will be going back. I normally don't need a wide width in shoes. They are nice leather and I loved the color. These are worth the sale price but I wouldn't pay the regular price for them.

Gorgeous!!!! I am dying because they did not fit. I could stretch out the toe box, but not the calf. I have a 15" calf and I could barely zip it over just socks. No way skinny jeans or even leggings would fit.

This is a gorgeous boot and I want to keep them so badly, but the calf is way too narrow (and I don't have particularly large calves). They'll have to go back.

I have ordered and returned many different styles of Frye boots. I just cannot justify paying this much for a pair of boots if I don't absolutely love them. I feel that each style I have tried on is clunky and stiff. I know the leather takes a while to wear in, but they just feel so uncomfortable when I first put them on. Also, I have almost slipped numerous times walking around in them in the house. The smooth bottom has absolutely no traction and no one else seems to have an issue with this. I am buying these to wear in the winter, with snow and ice and I already have a hard enough time keeping my balance :) I want to find a pair of Frye boots that I like, but so far I have had no success. These are close, shaft hits me just below the knee (I am 5'10" with long legs). The circumference isn't so wide that I am swimming in them, but is just wide enough that they look too big with leggings, but would probably fit much more snug with a pair of jeans. The style is beautiful, I love the harness on the ankle and the small detail on the back. I am not a huge fan of the redwood color. I am looking for more a dark brown. I am sending these back. I may try a few more styles again next year with the hope of finally finding a beautiful pair of boots that will last forever!

In my usual size, this boot was a little too narrow for my foot and much too wide for my very skinny calf. I am very sorry that it did not work out.

I wanted to love these boots. I ultimately couldn't though. They are comfortable, but at just under 5' 6" and with shorter legs, I was not tall enough: the boot came to just under my knee. If they were an inch or so shorter, they would have been great. I tried a size smaller hoping to fix this, and the height was the same, but the calf was way too tight.

I wear a 8.5 typically. I would size up a 1/2 size. These are very stiff across the foot. Frye leather can't be beat, but I ended up purchasing the Melissa back zip harness and it is so much more comfortable and true to size.

These boots rock, literally. When you take a few steps, your boot touches the floor three times, sounds like you are galloping and it feels like there is a lump in the boot where your arch is. The heel is not tapered, I am not sure if I got a bad pair or what. I tried to bend them a little but do not think that I would last an hour in these. They also came without boot insert supports or original packing - that is very disappointing for such a high price. They look and smell wonderful- too bad about all the negatives - they are going back today!
