I have bought 5 pair of Allen Edmonds in the last 6 weeks. The shoes are perfect. I'm very dissappointed in the laces. They are ALL way to short. I called customer service and they said I would have to buy longer laces elsewhere. This is very unfortunate. I'm not sure I can continue to order Allen Edmonds.

Love the shoe. Great look and quality. Size runs a bit large though.

I'm still in the process of breaking these in and it is quite painful. It is getting better, however, and I was able to successfully evade a French security guard thanks to the grip of the rubber sole. The blue soles and laces look fantastic and I personally feel that the brogue makes these work well with the jeans I wear even with the closed laces. I hope these continue to get more comfortable over time as they look dope.

From the first look, to the first touch, you can tell this is a quality product. Sturdy and all made, it feels like it will last for ever. The patina has its own personality and it develops as you use it much like a well worn pair of jeans. In other words, it develops a character of its own. The down side to the shoe is that it is heavy, which is part of what makes it strong.

I wear a 12 EEE and the fit was true to size. The tongue was stiff and cutting into the top of my foot so I had to put a tongue pad under tongue. The top of the shoe opening pushed into my ankles so I had to put padding on the inside to push the sides away from my ankle. These were just minor adjustments and now there's no discomfort. Took about a week to break in the cork sole and now the shoe feels great. This is a very high quality shoe that I'm sure I'll get years of wear. Highly recommend. Allen Edmonds also gives Veterans a discount which is much appreciated.

I love the shoes and they looked great until I cleaned them. Saddle soap pulled the dye right off of them. Polish does not restore the finish. Not exactly sure what to do now.

The shoes are solid and well made. The soles take a while to break in. Once they are broken in, they are comfortable. I have narrow feet and bought B width. I placed three tong pads in the shoes, which help. I'd like to try A width once stores open.

I waited for several months before reviewing this shoe. Therefore I feel I've given it time to make an objective observation. Growing up the son of a PGA Golf Prefessional, mens shoes were a premium in my home. We valued quality, and the Strandmok delivers. In fact, I've never owned a pair of shoes where I received a compliment every time I wear them, but I do when wearing the Strandmok. It's interesting that men take notice of this shoe. On fit ... it's imperative that you are properly fitted for this shoe. Please hear this, for you will be wasting money if you do not heed a proper fitting in this shoe's "last" - which is the "build" that goes with each shoe's sole design. They are not all the same at Allen Edmonds so get fitted. Normally I wear a 12.5 Wide. However, in this "last" construction I wear a 12 EEE - which really shocked me - but they fit like a glove! And that's thanks to the servant hearted approach of the staff at the Allen Edmonds Store in Green Hills area of Nashville. They took the time for the fit. On the leather ... it's English cowhide. Which is more stiff than most shoes. More rugged. And I think that's why this shoe gets so many compliments. This shoe screams of classic, rugged manhood. It can easily be dressed up, or worn with jeans. On the broguing ... the classic understanding of "brogue" is that the more brouging you have the more casual the shoe. Therefore a cap toe oxford, with a plain toe no brogue, is a formal cap toe for a suit or tuxedo. A cap toe with broguing is a bit casual. This shoe has brouging all around and therefore wears perfectly with jeans or chinos and slacks for sure. The only downsides ... weight and stiffness of sole. This shoe is heavy. However I personally value a heavier dress shoe. They tend to last longer. Stiffness speaks to the last construction. This shoe is firm underfoot but not terrribly uncomfortable by any means. The Dainite sole is a game changer. In wet conditions it's the go-to and it has super traction while maintaining a very classy appeal. All in all, the Strandmok is a legacy builder for your personal brand. People notice what you wear, and values such as class, honor, and integrity are non-negotiables for me. The Strandmok fits my worldview and it's by far the shoe I reach for most each week.

The Strandmok Cap-Toe oxford is just dressy enough to wear to work everyday if need be, but also casual enough for a night out. It is a very versatile, comfortable shoe. The one drawback I wish were advertised is that the color is intentionally slightly "distressed" looking. It isn't a deal-breaker by any means, but I wish it were better advertised.

I love these shoes but miss the 2A fit to match my other Strand shoes, which are perfect. The A is a bit narrow for me and the 3A is a bit sloshy. But they fit okay, just not perfect like my 2As. I get compliments on these shoes every single time I wear them and I love them.

Been wearing AE dress shoes for years - love them. As business casual gets more casual including jeans, these are a good choice although it did take me a bit to warm-up to the red laces. This is also my first experience with the Dainite soles - time will tell on durability but seem to be showing almost no wear after owning for a few weeks. Will be good for inclement weather. The interior of the shoe is only partially lined as compared to the dress shoes, I suspect since the leather is so thick relatively.

In general I love this shoe, but the footbed is kind of hard. Bought the leather insoles separately, which themselves are also great, but there isn't enough room left in the shoe after inserting them.

This is a great looking shoe. My only issue is that the leather is very stiff and after several weeks of trying to break these shoes in, they are still very stiff.

Blue sole is very blue - photo on line does not due it justice. I would probably not ave purchased them had I seen how blue they are. I would strongly recommend you offer different color soles (maybe you do I and missed it). There were a couple of odd little coated threads (very stiff) that were not trimmed flush with the interior of the shoe that irritated my foot when initially wearing these shoes. Similar to being poked with a wire. I had to use a razor blade knife to trim these flush. Otherwise fine. I have never had this problem in the past.

I own several pairs of AE shoes from the 65 last. The first pair of these Strandmoks I received were too large. The second pair, same size and width, fit perfectly.

I purchased the Strandmock in brown online, but had to exchange at the local store because the show was larger than expected. The quality of the shoe is observed from the unboxing to wearing them all day meetings with dinner at the end of the night. The shoe does fit slightly roomier than the pair of Strand cap toe shoes I purchased a few years ago, but the overall fit is great.

My first pair of Allen Edmonds and don't regret the purchase. Multi fashion shoe with a great look. Comfortable with a easy break in time. These are now my go to shoe! Will definitely seek another color

I remember when this first came out and I thought I absolutely had to own them, until I finally picked up both the black and brown pairs and tried them for myself. Don't get me wrong, absolutely positively top-notch construction, everything you would expect from AE. Plus the signature captoe medallion from the strand, the danite for wet conditions, and the absolute same fit of the Neumok 1.0 that everyone loved, it seemed like a no-brainer. Totally a matter of personal opinion, but I was not a fan of the color options AT ALL. I'll break them down individually. The original three to release were the brown, tan and black. The tan seemed like a good versatile option, something that would go well with chinos, jeans and lots of other stuff. Unfortunately, I guess being such a fan of the Neumok's wild colors, I was really disappointed by how just plain dull this looked. Good looking shoe, just....dull. I don't know what it was about the black, but the matte finish used completely masked out the captoe medallion for me - looking down once they were on, I almost couldn't see any of the details. If I get a medallion captoe, I want to see everything, otherwise I'd just get a plain toe. The brown - ah, finally something a little more "wild" and on par with the Neumok 1.0. Unfortunately this was the only one of the three that used not only a contrast colored welt but also brick red danite. The harsh contrast between the upper and that thick welt at the bottom was just too much. Later they released the blue and green. Again, unlike the tan and black, they again went with contrast welts of which I am not a fan. Not to mention I already owned a green Rush Street so the green here was almost redundant (with the exception of the reverse welt this time). If you are looking for a really "tame" color, I would definitely recommend the tan, and if you can utilize them in your wardrobe, I would definitely recommend the blue and/or green. No way would I recommend the black for any reason (and believe me, this is saying a lot, of my 58 pairs of AE shoes, almost 20 are black). I guess the brown was the most "different" of the bunch so I could see more people gravitating towards this one, just be aware of the red danite and thick contrast welt and make sure you're ok with it. Fit is exactly the same as the Neumok 1.0 (as these are also unlined). I would go 65-size as a start, unless you're swimming in the Parks already, in which case you might size down a 0.5 size in length here. All in all, an absolute great product, just not for me. I hope they continue this platform (and was happy to see it used on the Rudolph), since the move to the 201 may make things worse for some people. In general a lot of people seem to think that the unlined nature plus the 65 last works really well. Recommended.

I ordered these in a narrow width and they fit great. They took a while to break in but now they are very comfortable. Overall this a great shoe. I have had people compliment these shoes.
