Customer Reviews New Balance 806 Tennis Shoes

I tried every court shoe available for tennis and was about to give up before finding these. I need a wide width, cushion and stability and the NB806 provided all three. I hope NB will continue making shoes with wide width options and especially for those who over-pronate. I see many reviews lamenting how brands are producing narrow/pinching toe boxes now. I agree as that was my experience wading through the brands to find something that works......thanks Zappos. I will be ordering a second pair of this shoe and keep fingers crossed that NB won’t discontinue it-and hopefully provide other colors. I do like the white with lavender though. The lavender is deeper/with grey in the color, so it can be neutral.

In spite of being a half size up, the right shoe rubs my toes.

I wear a size 10 N and ordered a half size up as reviewers had suggested in this shoe but it was still too short. I am not happy that New Balance has changed their sizes so much.

I had to try almost every court shoe made to find a shoe that worked. This NB provides enough stability and arch support to stop the pronation and I am grateful for the wide width for comfort and mild bunions. I has pretty good side support and I feel safe on the court when moving. I preferred some of the ASICS styles, but unfortunately I can no longer wear a medium width which limits selection. The NB 786 also has pretty good arch support/stability and comes in wide widths. I am an 11-11.5 and needed 12 w in both. Thanks Zappos for the many test try-ons!

I bought these shoes because I have a bunion and need the extra width to be comfortable. From that standpoint, they're great. My only complaint is my first pair only lasted a couple of months before the tread was worn down significantly. I do play about 5 days/wk on average, but these are expensive shoes to be wearing down so quickly. I now where custom orthotics. Bought these shoes again to see if that makes a difference in the wear.

I have a narrow foot and have been wearing New Balance shoes for this reason. I play a lot of tennis and have had probably a dozen pairs of this same shoe because they fit me perfectly. I even wear a level 2 ankle brace in the left shoe and still get a good fit. I also think they are very well made and look great with any color. I won’t change from this shoe unless they quit making them!

Bought these for my daughter who goes to school during the day. She LOVES these shoes. Says they are very comfortable. NB needs to make a wider variety of wide width shoes.

This was a repeat purchase. This is the third time I've purchased this model. It provides good support and is comfortable. I have injured my ankles several times over the years so am only allowed New Balance tennis shoes with a roll bar. This model has done very well for me.

I kept the extra wide. Previous new balance tennis shoes fit me in D with. Kept EE.

This shoe is described as having "full grain leather upper," yet there is only a small strip on either side of the shoe that is actually leather. Wide and double wide sizes were not wide enough to fit me (Note: if they were actually leather they would stretch slightly and I would probably have kept them). Disappointing on both counts.

I was disappointed in this New Balance shoe. It is narrow in the toes. I read the reviews before I ordered so I ordered a size wider (EE-Extra Wide). It still felt narrow.

I've had these before. I didn't recall them being so stiff in the toe. My pinky toes have been rubbed to the point of discomfort. The opportunity and thickness of the sole are great, but it is back to the drawing board. I'll have to find new shoes. This was a waste of $115. I can't recommend these shoes. Ugh.

I usually wear a 10D in NB, and I ordered this same shoe in a 10D. It felt too narrow, or mis-sized, so I ordered a 10EE. It fits perfect!
