I thought these were supposed to be for people with larger calves. They fit exactly the same as the regular Janes (which I love!) I'm confused as to why they say the calf circumference is wider when it is not. I was hoping they'd be roomier. Returning these.

I'm so disappointed. I have 16.5 in calves, and have double-checked the size of the boot, and these are definitely not 17 inches circumference for a size 8M. I'm an 8, so that's what I ordered, and not only do they not fit at all, but I just measured -- the boots have a 15 inch circumference -- on the outside. Frye, come on. If you're going to make extended calf boots, it would be nice if they actually were. Quit insulting us and pretending that these are wide calf. They aren't. Ugh. Get it together.

They are not 17" around! They are exactly 16" wide at the calf. I ordered and carefully measured three times the top width of size 9 boots in redwood. They are misidentified. Zappos, please fix this. The redwood is more orange than the photo. The leather is nice. There is a little arch support and padding in the bed. The sole is nice (not the cheap sawdust heel of cheaper boots). I have very high arches and had no trouble slipping my feet comfortably in the bed. I ordered regular size. I just could not pull them up, for the reasons stated above.

While this boot is advertised as a wide calf, it is no wider than others in a store and doesn't fit my 15 1/2 inch calf.

Just returned these. I have this Jane in almost every other color, but they must be making these at another factory since it seemed to be WAY too small in the instep. I could hardly get this on and my other ones slip on and off with no problem. This SHOULD be one of the most comfortable of the FRYE boots, but when they change factories, who knows what happens??
