These are lovely boots! These boots are really cute. The heel does not seem high at all. They do seem tight on my large calf (17" due to an accident), but they have already stretched out some. This tightness meant the boot shaft was kind of scrunchy. I was not expecting this, but I think as the calf stretches more this will not be as much of an issue. There was considerable tightness on the top of my foot when I first put the boots on, but this too got better and I anticipate it will go away with time. I am 5'3½" and these boots do not quite reach my knee. The leather and color of these boots is gorgeous.

Having 16.5 circumference calves it is not easy finding boots. These fit perfectly with skinny jeans. However, the calf circumference will vary depending on your size. These run a little small, so I would recommend going up half a size. I had to return my normal size 8.5 for a 9, which then left room for thicker socks. These boots are a bit pricey, but worth every penny! The craftsmanship and leather is amazing. I ordered the color redwood. They are not red looking as in the pictures, but I actually like the real color even better. The only downside is that the soles are very slippery, so I toke mine straight to my shoe guy (who complemented me on the quality of the boots). These are my first pair of Frye boots, but I am sure they will not be the last. Thanks Zappos for your great service as always!

I have big calves 15 1/2 around I can fit in these with jeans tucked in! They are also wide at ankle so it's I nice silhouette not skinny ankle ballooning into wide calves. I usually order 8 1/2 or 9. I would order a 9 for me in these as they are very true to size.

Beautiful boots! I ordered a size 9 (my normal size) but the boots were too loose. I knew after wearing and breaking in they would become even more loose. I re-ordered same boots in 8-1/2 and fit perfect. I have 15" calves and have a hard time finding boots that I can wear with skinny jeans. These boots are the answer! My jeans fit inside and don't make my legs look like sausages. Heel is perfect height, not too high, not too low. I am hoping to wear them a lot with jeans and skirts, therefore making it worth the high price. Nothing beats real leather boots!

I LOVE these boots. They were still too narrow at the top for me, but I took a risk. I used Footfitter's boot shaft stretcher and managed to stretch them an entire inch! The boot stretcher is expensive ($200), but is extemely heavy duty. It was worth it, because I will use it on the other too-small boots stashed away in my closet since I have put on weight.

I first ordered these in my size 8 but that was too small. I returned them and got them in 9. That was perfect. I love these beautiful, quality gorgeous boots. They are very comfortable on the first night out. I love them and Zappos!

I have waited three years for these boots and finally they were under my Christmas tree. You know how when you spend money on a very well made pair of shoes and they are comfortable the moment you put them on? These are them! Love them and love Zappos!

These boots are absolutely beautiful! I was pretty much counting on a disappointment after reading so many reviews that the calf was still too tight, but when they arrived I was able so slip them on over skinny jeans and they fit perfectly! Absolutely perfectly, but no room at all to spare, so I understand how there are plenty of women that these are still too small for. I have had a lot of trouble finding boots that accomodate my large calves (which I do not completely understand - I am only 5'1 and a size 4 so not a huge person, I just don't have stick legs) and I am so pleased with these. They seem like great quality, very thick leather and hopefully will last a long time!

I was looking for casual boots to replace a pair of Fryes that had served me well for the past 5 years and decided to give the Jane a shot. They are absolutely beautiful! The leather is high quality and the fit is spot on, even the calf! My feet are a little on the narrow side with a high arch and my calves are muscular, 15 inches to be precise. I will be wearing them under boot cut jeans most of the time, but as the leather loosens I think I will be able to wear them with skinny jeans as well. I've had several pairs of Fryes and like some of the other reviewers had issues with the calf being tight to just plain too small. I had a few pairs stretched and even added gores and wore them all happily and comfortably for years afterward. I would highly recommend taking any shoes or boots that don't quite fit to a cobbler before giving up on them.

Just got my boots in today and they fit my 15 1/2 inch calves, yea! That is a first for Frye with me. I ordered a 7 1/2 in the Redwood color Beautiful. The only problem is I have a high arch and it is so hard to get boot on, once I do get it on it goes up good but the top of my foot rubs the top of boot and it hurts. I don't know if I will keep them and try to stretch them in the foot area or return them to try once more. These are the only Frye boots I have found that fit my calves good but they are not made for a person with a high arch. I will have to think about it. The boots are beautiful the redwood color is very rich, I do love them.

Love these boots! I saw a woman wearing them recently and had to ask her what brand they were. I have very muscular calves (but thin ankles) so I have trouble finding tall boots that fit, but I was hopeful. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Frye has increased their number of options with extended calves. I bought the Veronica Slouch extended calf boots last year, but at the time, that appeared to be the only style with the option. These boots are beautiful. They fit over skinny jeans and so far have held their shape with no sagging at the ankles (though the woman I originally saw wearing them had them slightly slouchy at the ankles, which also looked good - but she had tiny calves that probably didn't hold up the boots!). Unlike other extended calf boots, they do not emphasize my large calves, either. I also tried the Melissa Button extended calf but liked these better - I felt they looked better, plus I wanted a slight heel. I am between a 6.5 and 7 but I normally buy 7s in boots, to accommodate winter socks - the 7s fit fine. One is slightly tight over the top of my foot, but I suspect it will loosen with more wear. And the cognac color is gorgeous!

I love these shoes. I had to get the extended version so I can wear it with jeans. I did not have this problem with my other 2 tall size Frye boots. It is true to size on this one, and can't stop wearing it.

Gorgeous boots with an extended calf, the leather is perfect and the shaft height is perfect. It is not too high so you can wear it with skirts as well as jeans.

Beautiful boots! They are not as wide shafted as I had hoped, but they do the trick. I get constant compliments on these babies.

Love these boots. Had to exchange 7.5 for an 8 which is my usual size. For some reason I couldn't get my right foot into the boot. Return was incredibly efficient.

These are great boots. I have owned 2 pairs and will probably get again when I need another pair of tall casual boots. Good looking, versatile, and comfortable.

I received these boots last month and I've worn them twice. I have runners calves and these work great for me as I can wear skinny jeans with these and still have some wiggle room. They don't slouch as the leather is good and thick. I am not that tall, 5'4" and 140pounds and these boots hit about one inch below my knee and I don't feel like they overwhelm my size at all. I love the rich burnished red/brown color - they literally go with everything! These are my first Frye boots that I've actually purchased, kept and wore. I have purchased other pairs and don't feel that the quality compares to this style. These I know will last me for many seasons and years. I have paired it with dark washed skinny jeans, bright tops with cropped jackets. I am sure these boots can go with tights and a chunky sweater or anything you wish to wear. It's end of summer in California and I don't feel that these are outside of season when I've worn them with a light top. Very stylish!

I just got these boots in the mail like twenty minutes ago, and I am in love! I have really large calves and its impossible to find boots that are fashionable and fit properly. These are them! They are definitely expensive but well worth it. I was worried that they might be difficult to put on since there's no zipper, and I have a really high arch, but they are really easy to take on and off. Also they seem really comfortable so far. They fit true to size my toes have plenty of wiggle room and I could probably wear with thick winter socks no problem. If you have large calves and have been looking for a boot that is fashiionable and comfy these are them! If only I had a small fortune I would buy them in every color.
