I've been in a competitor jacket for the last 5 years and it's breathability and durability have always been problematic. The minute I tried this on I knew it was the better choice. The quality, the build, after testing it on a recent hike, I'm excited to put it to the test as a layer for ski touring. The side zips are amazing - great airflow.

5'9" | 185 lbs | bought size Large I was really impressed when I received this jacket, excellent quality. The outside is durable, but also really soft (can a rain jacket be "cozy"? This is.) The pit zips were exactly what I was looking for in a rain jacket, a major upgrade from my previous MH jacket. The Foray fits over my Transcendent Sweater comfortably, and I expect to get through most of the winter weather with these two pieces. I will use this more for snow rather than rain, so a fleece or puffy underneath is needed. I would probably be comfortable in temps 50F and up with only a tee underneath. I had read that the zipper was sometimes a bit difficult to start, and initially I found this true, but after about a week of use it has eased up and is not an issue. I'd like to try the ascendant hoody under this jacket as well

A do it all gore-tex jacket. Easy to layer underneath and good looking to be worn both in the city and the backcountry.

Packs down into my day bag easily, and is a life saver working outside on the docks in Florida. Vents make for a great warm weather jacket, and the sizing of the jacket easily allows for an underlayer.

I was hunting for a quality raincoat to keep me dry. I use at work, fishing, hiking and around town. It works and there is room for base layer and fleece underneath. Seals up good and feels like quality. Fished in wind and rain all day. I was warm and dry.

This is perfect for everyday or backpacking. It packs in its own pocket so it doesn't take up any room in your pack. Wore at 8,000 with 20-25 mph gusts of wind and was great. Great Jackets.

A looser fit that I prefer. It is easy to layer under the jacket. A good balance between strength and lightweight.

Use this on the boat in south Florida, love the zippers on the side, allows for maximum rain protection and breathability in hot weather. Jacket was so nice someone stole it, ready to order a new one already.

Replaced a 13 year old Marmot. I really like the styling, fit, features and color - all of these seem to apply equally to OR products.

i bought this because i needed a waterproof jacket. We were vacationing in a spot with 100% chance of heavy rains. This jacket stood up to heavy downpour and 20+ mph wind gusts. 100% waterproof. I would order this again.

I loved this jacket the first time I wore it. I got lucky it came in a few days before a pretty strong windstorm came through my area. I was wearing a thicker lined flannel shirt because it was cold, but when the wind started to blow it was cutting right through me. I put my Foray jacket on and all I could feel was the force of the wind. Even with me moving around a lot and the wind dying down and picking up the full length side zippers really do DUMP heat out. It was extremely comfortable to wear and find the happy medium. I unfortunately have not had the chance to wear it in any real wet conditions yet so I can't speak for that. I am however excited to try it out in some rain because it looks to be made of the same quality as the gore-tex jacket we were issued in the marines, and I wore that through a monsoon to stay dry.

I work at a very remote camp. I'm outside unless I'm sleeping, and even sometimes when then. When it's the rainy season, it feels it i can never stay dry, so a solid waterproof jacket is essential for me. Some jackets claim to be waterproof but may only be water resistant. I could stand under a waterfall and read a book inside this jacket.

Over all amazing jacket, Worth it's weight in gold. Large was too small in the shoulders, but nice everywhere else, XL great in the shoulders a tad baggy everywhere else but doable.
