It's Summer now, so I have only worn this a few times in light rain.

I use this jacket year round. An excellent piece of gear that is light weight and stowable, perfect for backpacking, canoeing, and general travel. This is my third foray I have 1 that is a size larger than normal when I just want a quick poncho over all my gear and now 2 large (I am 6" 200lbs) 1 for bush bashing that has a few small tears that have been gorilla taped up and 1 that is for less rugged applications. Throw a transcendent hoodie on under this and you are good to -15.

Awesome jacket. I've used it several times in the rain and it kept me dry and comfortable. The hood peak covered my OR trucker hat perfectly. Lightweight and easy to show away on your pack. The size (large) was perfect for my frame (6'1", 190 lbs.). Excellent for backpacking or casual use. The pit zips are great for ventilation during a high output activity. Highly recommended. Excellent value.

Recently we have had horrible weather here in the mountains of western North Carolina. With that being said, a couple of friends and I had a great opportunity to test out some recent wet weather gear purchases. Between the three of us, we had an Arc'teryx Alpha SV, an Arc'teryx Beta AR, and my Outdoor Research Foray... ALL 3 Jackets are GoreTex, and it's a good thing they were. It absolutely poured on us for about 10.6 miles of the Mountains to Sea trail. I was curious to see how the Foray stood up to the "almighty" Arc'teryx line (with their GoreTex PRO)... and I must say, it performed EXTREMELY well! The Beta AR wetted out alarmingly fast. But was still able to keep the user dry, as the Foray, and the Alpha SV kept the water beading up and rolling off quickly... eventually the pounding rain got the better of the Foray before the Alpha SV. But it's also $500 cheaper. And from what the user said, the Alpha didn't breathe nearly as well as he'd hoped it would. So standing in at $500 cheaper than the Alpha SV, I'd say I got the best bang for the buck... The Torso-Flo pit zips were the talk of the bunch when we were taking our breaks with the packs off. (Very nice with a concealed carry as well). My hats off to this jacket, and a round of applause to OR... very impressed... and I absolutely LOVE the hops green!

Great water proof and breathable jacket. Fit is pretty good. My only issue is the hood, it seems that is can be rolled and tucked in but it doesn't work very well and will pull the jacket down in a weird way.

Great jacket- I am a 5'9" woman and bought this for the longer arms, as women's sizes often have sleeves that are too short for me. I like the narrower cut; this jacket is not bulky or clumsy feeling under a backpack or when working outside. The sealed zippers are great and it sheds water like a champ! This will be my new backpacking go-to rain jacket for sure.

The only flaw is sometimes the zipper sticks when zipping up/ down but only at the joint at the bottom of the jacket. After a year of heavy use in rain, wind, hail and snow there are no signs of wear. It's a great casual jacket too. Packs up real nice and is always ready to answer the call, no matter how extreme. I love this jacket.

As an avid hiker in the Pacific Northwest this jacket has had to perform as advertised. It does. It has exceeded my expectations in performance and comfort.

I wanted a new rain jacket but one with room for layers underneath. I found the Women's options fit great but buying the Men's Foray Jacket allowed for the layers to be a little more comfortable underneath and it still looks great. I love it for hiking and just being outside and still staying dry in the cold rainy spring season we are experiencing right now.

I don't understand the comments stating this jacket is not waterproof. I just returned from hiking 4 days on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and this was the only jacket I brought and the only jacket I needed in Peru. We dealt with torrential downpours throughout the hike and my base layer was never wet. The multiple zippers allowed for optimal ventilation while dealing with ever-changing weather and temperature fluctuations. A lot of thought and field testing obviously went into building the perfect backpacking jacket and the end result is the OR Foray. Thanks Outdoor Research

The side zippers that go from the bottom of the jacket through the arm sleeves is a life saver. I tend to over heat easily on wet hikes. Able to completely open the sides of the jacket to breath is fantastic. Also utilizing this accessability to reach pockets and buckle my backpack bottom strap is perfect.

No doubt about it, this coat keeps you dry and windproof. I've gone cycling in pouring rain with it on, it made the ride really entertaining and comfortable. I tried it out on a 7hr snow hike in the Sierra Nevada and it kept me dry, I suppose it isn't really meant for that but it sure did keep the wind and wet snow out. It works ya'll, maybe you should buy n' stay dry.

I love this rain jacket. I normally wear a size large in most of Outdoor Researches gear but after trying on my buddies, I went with a medium. I'm 6'0" , 185lbs athletic build and a medium fits me great.

I bought this jacket just before leaving to Patagonia and walked the W with it. It held me warm and dry when needed. The side zippers are the best feature of this jacket. It makes it so versatile, no need to remove it if you are too warm . Zip it open and pass your pack belt under and there you go, nice and cool but still well protected from the wind! Great value for money too! I really love this jacket!

Awesome rain jacket! The fit is great and I love the full length pit zips which are great for waist backpack straps. So far, this is one of my favorite OR pieces and I own many OR jackets. Highly recommend.

This is my second Foray jacket and I live it! Perfect weight for just about everything except extreme cold. I ware it under body armor often. Great color selection to make your surroundings of for just being stylish. May buy a third just to keep in my vehicle for emergencies. Worth every penny!

Ordered the Baltic Blue color - which is strikingly cool. Have already gotten several comments about how nice it looks. Seems like a nice mid-weight rain shell, somewhere between "way too light" to remain waterproof for long, and "way too heavy" to throw in my pack. Haven't had a chance to test it in really WET Oregon weather yet, but the build quality is good, and it seems like it should hold up nicely. Fit is nice, with plenty of room to layer underneath. I'm 5'11", 175 - and the Large seems perfect with a fleece or puffy underneath.
