This ranks up there with any North Face jacket I have had in the past. Great functionality with better feel

I bought this to take to Colorado for hiking in the mountains. I was above 11,000 feet almost the entire time, This jacket was perfect to block the wind and rain and add some warmth. It also packs down small and is pretty lightweight which makes it ideal for backpacking.

I bought this coat for my son who just started college in the PacNW. It's perfect for walking to class during those nonstop days of rain. He's very happy with the quality and style of the coat so it's a win, win.

Other than the brightness of the green I really like this jacket a lot. Very packable and compresses small, a size up gives me layering options without being a full size too big. Great price and great deal for 2L gore.

I love this for harsh conditions. I do trail work in the NW, and this shell performs well in wet, windy, and muddy conditions. Keeps me protected, cleans up well when home, and breathes pretty well. I use a lighter shell for regular hiking and backpacking, but this is robust and stands up well to trail work in the outdoors.

I use this as my general rain gear in my daily life and on trips. I get very warm, so this also doubles as wind/waterproof over a sweater or vest in the winter months.

Great rain jacket. The full length side zippers (pits to side hem) are what makes this jacket so versatile and comfortable. The side zips allow you to dump tons of heat during light rain allowing fewer transitions between wearing a rain jacket and removing it and wearing it again in fickle weather. Unzip from the side bottom hem and wear in poncho style. Very convenient for quickly throwing on over a climbing harness and still allowing decent access to gear loops.

Excellent lightweight, well-fitting rain jacket, with ample hood to keep the rain at bay! My only complaint is that the front zipper is very hard to get started.

This jacket is a great outer layer when you want the ability to vent and dump heat. the full side zips convert this into a poncho like upper layer. Great for light to medium rain, vent and stay pretty dry.

Great waterproof shell with excellent ventilation. I tend to perspire with physical activity which can be a uncomfortable in high activity situations while wearing a rain jacket / shell. This has not been an issue with the Foray Jacket. Really appreciate the side zips which allow incredible amount of airflow in wet weather without getting soaking my base layer. Velcro wrist straps ensure that your forearms stay dry in adversity weather conditions.

I looked for months evaluating a million different rain jackets for my trail runs and marathons. I don't mind when it lightly rains, so all the windbreaker and weatherproof stuff wasn't what I needed. I only needed a jacket for downpours and this Gore-Tex jacket loaded with features at a GREAT price was perfect. I've run in downpours it holds up, is easy to move in and I hardly notice it's on. Super happy with this jacket.

The Foray is a solid rain jacket. It's a little warm for summer thunderstorms in Florida but definitely keeps the severe rain out nonetheless, totally waterproof. Hiking in the Canadian/American Rockies and Alaska, it was still quite warm down into the upper 40s. I put out a lot of body heat and the pit zips are absolutely the best thing about this jacket - I frequently hiked with them all the way down to my pack's hip belt and still stayed dry and relatively comfortable. The jacket isn't as breathable as it could be but I think that's outweighed by its water- and windproof capacities. The pit zips also let the jacket function well as a poncho if you get in a pinch with a backpack; I was able to put my daypack on under my jacket and unzip the pits all the way from the hem so I could drape the back over my pack to keep it and me mostly dry (from the front and back at least). The hood is also easily adjustable - it's advertised to fit a helmet so it's a little big on just your head, but the peripheral adjustment at the back easily fixed that. It's warm for summer weather hiking but this jacket will do well in relatively cold and windy weather if you are moving - I got to the top of a mountain to discover a windchill probably between 20 and 30 but was comfortable with a T-shirt and fleece underneath and a thin wool hat under the hood with the zipper all the way up. I'd want something heavier for wintertime or anything below maybe 30 degrees without 2 or 3 layers underneath but this will definitely get you through anything from 40 and up with a T-shirt and/or soft-shell underneath. Great jacket and very well made!

Gore-Tex Paclite is preferable above other waterproof-breatheable membranes due to its comparable lightweight, effectiveness and durability.

I bought this for work up in Alaska and was not let down. This is the best rain jacket I have purchased so far. It's relatively durable and superbly waterproof. The color (brown) is great given that I can use it for hunting as well. You get what you pay for and in this case the price is well worth it.

I bought the Men's medium (I'm a women) so my comments about fit above may not be accurate. I got a bigger size so it would work for biking also. So far, I love it! I like the pit/side zips and the overall fit, breathability.

I use this for hunting mainly but I won't go anywhere in the backcountry without it. For backpacking it's great to throw in my pack for cold encounters and it's light enough to also be in my pack.

Bought this jacket as a recommendation from fellow climber. XL size was perfect for my 6' 5" frame. Sleeve length was just right. While torso felt a bit loose, this is easily corrected by cinching the draw chord at the waist. I used this as a waterproof shell on a recent Rainier trip when the weather deteriorated drastically in a short amount of time. At it's worst, winds were in the 40MPH range, with steady rain, and sporadic sleet and snow. Variety of zippered seams maintained airflow and I never overheated while moving. When not moving I never chilled or felt cold. No excess of built up moisture under the shell. Exterior beaded water off like ducks feathers. It was easy to pack, light weight, and foldable when the weather was not nasty. I can see why this is an amazingly great product for a wide range of activities. If you need the most out of a shell on few occasions, this is it.
