As a runner/biker, my calves often hover right at the cut-off circumference for most boots. The Hunter Adjustable is fantastic and much more flexible than the Huntress, which feels like wading in a sea of rubber.

Incredible--half way through this year's Jazzfest, there were torrential downpours flooding the racetrack and turning the entire site to muck. In order to enjoy the second weekend of my favorite festival I needed tough flat rainboots that would accommodate my 16.5" calves in style. Jazzfest style is very important. It's all about the funk! Based on the detailed reviews from previous purchasers of all of the rainboots, I was able to discern which boot would suit my needs exactly. The Hunter Original Adjustable is stylish. It accommodate my large calves and has tapering at the ankle. The flat gripping tread is perfect for negotiating the slippery muck. The adjustable fitting allows a close comfortable fit that keeps rain from going down into my boot. Out of the 100,000 plus people there this weekend--I had the best boots for me! A big thank you to everyone who writes their reviews! And I love the VIP fast delivery service--that made it all possible. I am typically between a 9.5 and a 10. I ordered the 10, but probably could have gone with the 9.5. Now I want another pair in color or pattern!

These boots are awesome. I really wanted the Original Talls, but my calfs are just a smidge too big for them to fit comfortably (my calfs measure 15" with skinny jeans on, and they could slide into the Originals, but no wiggle room meant the boots buckled funnily at the ankles). These ones are much more comfortable and, actually, I think the back buckle detail looks awesome! I am so happy. I would say these fit about half a size large, which is probably on purpose - let me tell you, gumboots are not something you want to buy to fit tight. They are unforgiving on your toes! Add some thick socks (I did not shell out for the welly socks, I just wear my own SmartWool winter socks) and you are golden.

I love this boot, there is plenty of room in the foot for bulky socks even with the insert in place. I have a 15 1/2 inches calf and am 5'3. This boot come and inch below the bend of my knee and is perfectly snug with pants and long socks on. Other reviews I read said boot size runs a bit large I ordered my regular shoe size for the extra room for heavy socks and I still have the boot heel slip I desired.

Love these boots! I did size up a 1/2 size because my toe hit the end on my usual size. I am 5'2 inch and have kinda big calves (at least it seems that way since most boots are too tight on me) and these are perfect. They aren't too tight and they don't bother the back of my knees. The original Hunters w/o the adjustable strap were just a tad too tall and were too tight w/jeans. These are a great b/c they still have the same look as the originals. Super comfy - just a little squishy for walking around in all day, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Boot are super comfortable, although they do definitely run large... I am usually a 9 in boots, but I suspect that I could have gone with a Hunter 8, especially since I don't have the fleece or knit inserts. Word of warning: I am 5'3 and if I my calves were any shorter, the boots would be too tall for me.

These are great. Someone else posted that these are better than the Huntress (wide calf) and they do fit better through the ankle and calf and I think it is because I am shorter (5'3). I have normal legs but because of my height the boots tend to hit me in a odd spot. The Hunter original were just a little too snug and I wanted a looser more relaxed fit. The Hunter Huntress were okay but I look like I am swimming in them. They were not flattering for me.

After looking and looking for the perfect boot for me, I have found it! I live in the country and spend a lot of time on farmland, so I really needed a strong, durable boot. I originally tried the Hunter Regent in two sizes which were way too tight to tuck jeans into (I have a 14" calf). These are great because they are wide enough to easily slip in and out of, with jeans, and they don't make my legs look big. Very flattering fit. I ordered a half size up which is a good fit with socks. Also attractive enough to wear to run errands in. Love these boots! Wow! Just got these today and I love them! Was lucky to get the last pair in my size. I already own the Huntress and was never happy with the way they looked. I wanted the Original with an adjustable bucke and Hunter nailed it with this one! In love! Zappos as always with awesome shipping!

These are gorgeous boots! I have very muscular calves and I have 17 inch calves and I hated the way the Huntress looked on me. I wanted a taller rain boot. I bought these and I am in love. They are fantastic but for people that have wide feet with high insteps, go up a size. I am normally a size 10 but I really needed an 11 because these really squish my feet and they feel like I dropped a 100 pound rock on them when the day is done. Otherwise, these are so cute! I got the colorblock black and white but the white will get dirty so beware!

I am so happy I found these rain boots! I originally bought a pair of the Hunter Originals in the matte black color and was so sad when they ended up being just a little too tight on my calves (oh, curse my athletic legs...) I thought I'd have to order the wide-calf version (which is shorter and not as shapely as the originals,) but luckily found these before I did. I was skeptical about the white panel, but I actually really like the way it looks. It has a "classiness" about it that I really like, even more so than the originals in my opinion. I ordered some UGG sheepskin insoles to put in them for colder weather, but they don't fit well, so I'm going to order a pair of wellie warmers instead. Hopefully that will make these a little warmer, as they aren't really warm otherwise.

Great, fashionable boot. It give you a little lift so as not to be so flat. The regular Hunter Boots were a little tight around my calf...these are perfect! I love them! I also bought the warm inserts...super comfortable! I am normally a 9.5/10, but kept the 9.

I was so happy to find these boots. I am a shorty (5'2" ish) with athletic calves. I tried on the original Hunter boot a few months prior, and was dissapointed since they were too tight on my calves and super bunchy in the ankle. I ordered these adjustable versions on a whim, and they fit great! I usually wear a 7.5 but ordered the 8 so I'd have some room for socks. I needed stylish boots that I could wear to the barn, and also when the weather is wet when I am going out or going to work. They are stylish and functional. Worth the investment!

These boots are absolutely perfect! I practically tried on the entire line of Hunter boots before knowing about these babies! While the Huntress was roomier for my calves, the shorter length made my already petite body look that much shorter. The regular Hunter boots were squeezing my calves, and while the 7 fit fine, I could not fit half my leg in with the knit socks, and had minimal breathing room with my 8s plus socks. I am usually a 7½, so going down a size seemed like the option. Upon reading reviews about these boots, everyone advised I go up the size to wear with socks. I ended up purchasing both a 7 and an 8. Oddly, the 7 was an entire inch shorter than the 8 (perhaps it did not cinch properly in the back), but the 8 was still super form-fitted and made my legs look slender and long! Plus, with the socks, they were absolutely comfortable. I was struggling a bit with the 7 and socks. I would very highly recommend this pair if you want the length/height of the hunter, but the width of the Huntress. The adjustable back is adorable and so subtle! Much classier than that prominent silver buckle on the side. I got the black on black, with Hunter black knit socks. Perfection.

The boots are beautiful and just what I wanted. My old pair were over 25 years old and although still wearable, not looking so good! I nearly ordered a lookalike pair from another company, but they had awful reviews--glad I found the real Huntress again. Worth the cost!

I love these boots! I tried the originals on and so glad I did because they were just too tight in the calf. I order the adjustables and I think they are actually cuter than the originals because you can perfectly adjust them to fit your leg. They are comfortable and trendy. I am really happy with the purchase. Like usual, service from Zappos was excellent.

These boots exceeded my expectations and Zappos makes buying and returning anything a breeze! A friend got me the Original Tour as a gift and the 9 was way too big so I exchanged for the adjustable original boot in an 8. Perfect fit. I recommend getting a size down if you are questioning the size at all! So comfy and stylish to boot!

I am thrilled with these boots! The fit is perfect for my regular sized calves and slim ankles. They are slimmer and more refined than the original and much more feminine. I usually wear an 8 1/2-9 I ordered 8 and they are perfect!

I absolutely love these boots. The fit is perfect! Actually bought two sizes and will keep both. My foot is usually a 10N so I got both a 9 and 10. The nines fit like a glove and will wear them with light sock for Summer muck. The tens will be great in colder weather with a heavy sock. The calves are adjustable so no problem wearing over jeans or riding breeches. The rubber is sturdy but soft. Thank you Zappos for carrying this brand!
