Shoe was comfortable, but fell apart after just 6 months of wear - the top near big toe and sole came apart. Shockingly shoddy manufacturing.

I think New Balance has lost its way and therefore its market niche. For years, one could count on the same foot print fit for any shoe produced by New Balance. That is no longer the case. There is no assurance that New Balance will provide a consistent sizing and especially for the older, widening foot. This shoe simply does not have the normal width, nor length that I have typically bought. I have been buying as much as a whole size larger just to get the right fit across the toes, and this shoe does not even come close.

Really bad fit...at least1-1.5 sizes too small. Had to rate it 1 star on all counts just because I couldn't get them on my feet.

I ordered this pair in April. I found them to be about one size smaller than my 14 4E I am currently wearing. This is clearly a production screw up. The size tag is on the wrong shoe.

I have been wearing NB shoes faithfully for decades. Nowhere can I find a pair that fits correctly anymore. They are all too small and the 4E is now more like a narrow. I don't get it. I am giving up on NB, but not Zappos, which is the best!

I hesitated to buy anything online that had to fit per a specific size, but liked the look and could not find them locally. 10 D has been my size for a long time and have had many pairs of New Balance sneakers. Had to return 10D - too narrow. 10.5D also too narrow! I am done with ordering shoes or clothes online! UPS drop center is not convenient for me either.

I'm a size 12.5, EE wide, and I was so happy to finally have shoes that fit me. I guess it was too good to be true. Within a week of just walking around, this piece of junk has already begun falling apart. Terrible quality. There was also no arch support and, for some reason, caused intense pressure on the side of my right foot.

I don't normally write reviews on here but I had to leave one for this shoe. I bought a pair in April of 2014 and they are falling apart already. I wear them for work and I usually get a year out of a pair of shoes but not these. The sole is separating from the upper. I've owned several pairs of New Balance shoes but this 623 doesn't appear to be up to NB's quality. No fault of Zappos. I love their service so I just placed an order for a different brand of shoes today.

I bought these when they were made in the USA, then they started making them overseas, cheap, cheap, and cheap. Ended up throwing them in the garbage. Do not buy, buy the made in the USA shoes.

We ordered these for my son for school. He does not wear them for PE. He has worn them a total of 9 days. The soles on one of the shoes is already separating at the heel, from the shoe.

I normally buy size 12 New Balance MX608 Style which looks very similar to the MX623. I bought the 623's in November of 2013 and discovered the size 12 is not 623 does not fit. It's smaller than the MX608's and I can't wear them. Also I just discovered the Zappos size chart doesn't agree with the New Balance size chart. Tomorrow I will go to the local New Balance retail store and buy a couple of pairs of properly sized 608's.

These were fine for about 8 months, but then a hump formed in the right show just rearward of the two or three larger toes. I am in pain and will be throwing them in the trash tonight.

Quality of these shoes are cheap, my old MX623 were made in the USA and very good quality. These are made overseas and are cheap looking garbage. Sending them back! I would not recommend anyone to buy these shoes. New Balance used to advertise made in the USA when they first started out, that is why I bought them.

I have been getting 2 pair of cross trainers from New Balance for years. I just received this order and I should have paid attention to the reviews.... my fault. These are in fact about a 1/2 size smaller than before. Too bad... Zappos has always done a good job up till now.

The shoes are comfortable and light although I have only had them for a few weeks and the bottom outside sole is already separating from the shoe. I don't know if its just a one time manufacturing defect or what. I am very displeased with this; however, seeing that the shoe is rather pricey. For this reason I can not recommend this shoe.

I am so done with New Balance. I used to buy nothing but New Balance but I've bought my last pair. They used to not only fit but felt good on your feet. Now, not only does my size 12 foot not fit in their size 13 shoe but the feel is run of the mill Chinese mass produced junk. Never again will I waste my time with NB!

These shoes fit HORRIBLY. They rub on the insides of my ankles and the only reason I don't throw them in the garbage is because I don't want to waste the money I spent on them. I cannot more highly recommend NOT purchasing these shoes! There is no way your old shoes are as bad as these. In fact, these shoes are so bad I am going to cease shoe-shopping on-line and begin purchasing my shoes from Big-5. I cannot believe Zappos carries a product like this and can't believe New Balance makes a product like this. I would give ZERO stars if I could!

I used to love New Balance shoes, and have used them for many years. However, the last few pairs I've had have been below par when compared to Nike, Columbia, Adidas, and Asics - the other brands of athletic shoes I've used. For one thing the sizing has inflated over the years compared to other brands. I noticed this a while back, and I see a continuing trend...where I fit fine in a Nike or Adidas 10 M, I now need an 11.5 EE in New Balance. The New Balance seem to get tighter with each new model or series. It's only New Balance where I see this phenomenon. If my feet were getting larger, I would expect to see it in all brands but clearly its only New Balance. As for this particular shoe, I cannot recommend it. The construction is poor, on my pair the collar is too high on the right shoe, causing it to rub against my ankle bones. I did not notice this at first, but after wearing the shoe for a day my right ankle was slightly sore. My left foot felt fine, so I took the shoes off and compared. Setting both shoes side by side on a flat surface, the right shoe collar is about 3/8 higher than the left shoe. There are also other dimensional differences within the body of the shoes, which indicate poor manufacturing practices and lack of quality control. In addition, the padding is uneven, and the leather ranges from soft and flexible to very hard, almost like plastic. The padding inside the heel counter is uneven, allowing excess friction against the heel at places, depending on level of activity. These are somewhat subtle things that you don't notice until you wear the shoes for a while and use them in athletic activity - alas, I expected these to break in over time, but they seem to be getting worse. I assume these are the lower end of the New Balance line and that their top of the line shoes still exhibit NB's former high quality and comfort. I'm surprised they have allowed this to happen - it's like if Toyota added the Ford Pinto as a bargain product - it only discredits the whole brand image.

I have worn this shoe for years and always satisfied until now. They have changed where it is made and it is not the same shoe, very disappointed.
