I've worn this size and style for several years and decided to order another pair online rather than hassle with going to a shoe store. Unfortunately, the same size/style is much too small. I guess I need to go back to the store. Too bad, as the service was very fast, and the other shoes I ordered were fine.

These shoes were great for me. Then the fabric around the heel started getting torn to shreds. Maybe I'm just an abusive shoe owner. But all the plaid near the heel is torn. It's a shame because the actual leather part of the shoe has held up awesome, and they fit really well on my super wide feet, and are very comfortable.

Apparently New Balance has redesigned this model - the construction was quite different from my previous pair. They feel smaller. I've worn them a couple of times, but I got a blister! Not sure if I can continue wearing them - do they even make a size 15 Narrow?

Followed the advice of other buyers and bought a half size larger and widest possible--should have bought my regular size, but width was still too narrow. Great looking shoe, but runs too small.

I'm a big dude and I wear shoes out quickly. So far these are ok, but I've only had them a few weeks.

I was very satisfied with the MX623 shoe. Good quality and long wearing. The MX623v2 is appears to be a cost reduced product. Has only 5 eyelets instead of the 6 on the 623; less lacing control which I need because of an orthopedic problem. New Balance as also replaced some of the leather pieces with soft padding which to me is a quality reduction in the product. Also, a plastic lacing piece on each side of the gore that served as lacing holes is gone. If you need a tightly laced shoe, those pieces certainly helped. Net: if I could have found the right size in the MX623 I would have bought it. The MX623v2 looks to me like nothing more than a manufacturing cost reduced shoe with a slight increase in retail price.

I have had these shoes for several weeks and they have been adequate for the job especially after breaking in a bit. They are not the most comfortable New Balance shoes I have owned and they seem a bit tight with the Spenco innersole I have placed in them. As for style I find them ugly and they feel and look a bit cheap to me. I do not especially like these shows but they have been adequate as workout shoes.

Wont bother again with any NB shoes. Of last 3 pair, none lasted 6mo before sole coming off. Doesn't matter if you go w/993 or 623. EVA midsoles don't stay glued to outer sole. I use them only after work and weekends. Better shoes are made with poly midsoles.

Well, I probably expected a bit too much from these shoes. They are not as comfy as they seem and definitely they were not true to size. I've always worn 8.5 in New Balance and these ones did not fit quite right. Poorly constructed compared to prior years and inaccurately sized. The cost-benefit relation is definitely not good. I think I will return them.

I bought these shoes on Sept/2013 so this is a long term review of these shoes. Since I purchased these shoes I have had to glue the right side of the bottom of these shoes twice. New Balance a few years ago was a no brainer for me. They always fit and they always lasted. I have read several reviews of New Balance and I see more and more comments about they are not like the last pair. Well they are not. I do not know what overseas country New Balance is using to make their shoes now but they are doing a very bad job. You should not have to glue the bottom of your shoes twice in less than two years with normal wear. I do not look at New Balance any longer for new shoe purchases.

I have bought two pairs of New Balance 623s. The first pair failed in 10 months with a sole separation. It remained attached at the toe but completely loose under the foot pad. The second pair had a left shoe half a size smaller than the right shoe making walking painful. I tried stretching the smaller shoe with little success. I feel New Balance quality control and construction has grown shoddy and unreliable.

I have other N/B foot wear and thought I'd try a pair for work since I stand about 10 hours a day. This pair left with a backache before the day was up and I haven't worn them since.

Like a couple other newly designed New Balance shoes these seem to be smaller and really look cheap. They look like a knockoff done on a 3-D printer

New Balance shoes never used to let me down. But now...they feel like cheap dime store sneakers. I could not believe how uncomfortable they were. Pinching, callous causing, rubbing blisters! I thought I had the wrong size so I returned these and ordered up. Guess what? Same problems! Thank goodness for Zappos generous return policy because I ended up returning them, too. I finally gave up. I am going back to the Brooks Addiction Walker. Much more comfortable! I don't know what or why you changed, New Balance...but you did. Bad choice.

I ordered other 12s in New Balance that fit. This one was way too short. At least by a half size.

I ordered three pairs of same size and width from New Balance. The only one that did fit was made in USA (M990). This one and another were way off size.

I've been buying the same model of New Balances for a few years now and had been fairly happy with them. Unfortunately, the latest ones I ordered fell apart within a day. The sole became delaminated in 2 places. I don't know if they changed the glue or what the problem is, but I am not going to buy these any more.

I am sorry to say the last pair I bought for my son, has split from the toe two inches down. Very disappointed. My son likes these shoes. Not sure if I should order again or find something else, would love to return them but already threw away the box. I only got them about a month or so ago.

Since I have wide feet, New Balance has always been a favorite. I have a pair of tennis shoes that fit wonderfully and comfortably (we'll see how durable they are), and a pair of cross-trainers I leave in my gym locker that also fit perfectly, and have lasted a few years. But I have found, having had to return a few pairs of New Balance, that many models of EE or even 4E just are not as wide as advertised. In the case of these, they're marked as a 4E, but they're a EE at best. And the shape of the shoe (or maybe it's how thick the materials are) makes the toe box a little cramped. I had to return again.

I bought a pair of New Balance 623's size 17EEEE in Jan of this year I noticed that they were tight in the toe box I thought that they would need time to be broken in; six months later after a full day of standing on my feet they are exhausted and tired I blame the makers of the shoes I even considered going a size larger I know that feet expand as you get older but there should not have been this drastic of a change I have looked around at other shoe sites on this model and the same complaints have surfaced.

Very satisfied with fit and support, as I tried on 8 pairs in my size before finding this particular shoe. However, wore for 5 or 6 tennis matches to find stitching undone and toe box ripped. Very disappointing. I would give this shoe 5 stars if not for its remarkably short life.

I don't know what has happened to this line over time. I used to get these in a 12 4E and they were fine. Then I had to switch to a 13 2E. Now even those don't fit on the left foot (I think that one of my feet is slightly longer than the other). Anyway, the construction is not as nice as years ago, and the shoe has shrunk.

I am a hard core New Balance shoe purchaser. But I was deeply disappointed with this pair of New Balance tennis shoes. They officially were thrown in the trash today 8 months after purchase. But I call time of death on these things 3 months ago when they started coming apart at the seams.

I wear the New Balance M990 to run in, but I got the 623 to knock around in. I've had no trouble with M990 not being true to size and I've run in them for 20 years or so, but these 623's feel one size too small. I don't like them.

I am very disappointed with the quality of these shoes. I have purchased New Balance for years but this pair of shoes has me rethinking my loyalty to the brand. The leather was very thin in places and after five months the leather got a 2" split at the sole.
