I agree with orter reviewers who say this shoe is much more narrow than the GT 2170. I've worn Asics for years, and am deeply disappointed that they've changed their design so significantly. Bring back the GT-2170! Until then, I'm looking for a new brand of running shoes.

I have been in the 2000 series for at least 12 years. I Run 25 to 40 miles a week. This is a total re-do of the 2170. It is not the standard tweak. The toe box is narrower and the heel feels lower. For the first time in my 40 years of running I have experienced Achilles' tendon issues, heel issues and plantar fascias. I have been trying to identify the cause. Tonight, I did a lot of online research and found that my issues are a common complaint with long time runners who transitioned from 2170 to 2000. Asics really blew it with this model change. Hopefully there will be a GT 2000 v2 soon. Meanwhile, I sure wish I could find some 2170s or 2160s in 11½ 2E.

Excellent shoe. I have worn Asics GTs for the past three years. The 2000 is the latest and greatest. I'm an over-pronator and this is a very comfortable and supportive shoe.

Love Asics! These were for my very wide, very flat-footed 12-year old. 3rd pair of shoes we tried and they fit wonderfully! No complaints. I love Asics!

The shoe is very striking in person and it is very comfortable and great for the gym. It's one of the few shoes that will fit me since I need at least a 3E or wider as well as a 16-17.

I've been wearing Asics exclusively for about 15 years. The GT-2170 were my favorite shoe. They were discontinued so I tried the new GT-2000. I've found it to be far inferior to the GT-2170. I tried on my size at a local sports store. My usual size felt really snug so I ordered a half size up on Zappos. When I first wore the shoe, the first thing I noticed was the tongue bunching up inside the top of the shoe. Not comfortable. Next I noticed the lack of cushioning and support. I've always preferred Asics because of the firm support. This shoe feels like it came from a Nike factory. Before I wrote this review, I gave the shoe time to break in, but it's not getting any better. After this morning's run, my feet felt beat up, and my right calf tightened up. To be honest, I feel a little betrayed by Asics. Looks like I'll have to start shopping for a new brand.

These shoes feel great to walk and run. Offer great arch support and comfort throughout the foot. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a good running shoe.

I was skeptical about buying these shoes at first because of all the reviews saying this new model is different. I have been wearing Asics for many years now and let me just say they are as good as ever. The people writing those reviews probably wear Nike most of the time. I am going to buy another pair just because the fit is so perfect!

Just being in a size 16 B sold this for my 15 year old son. Just finding a site was a challenge. He loves the style and color so much he wanted a second pair. But none were left as of this time, but he probably won't be buying the same size next time.

I bought this shoe because I previously wore a similar Asics model. Unfortunately with this pair, there is a piece of material across the toe that creates a crease in the material that hits the big toe as you walk. It's a bad design and definitely not an upgrade from the older model.

It is great to find a 13 1/2 wide shoe. Most 13 wides are too short and 14 wides are loose. These shoes are comfortable and great looking. I like Asics gel comfort.

I bought these for my husband. I have them and love them. I felt he did not have proper support on the ones he had. He now walks a lot better and said he feels he has more support than he did. I would recommend them to men or women. I have nothing but praise for Zappos and the service that you offer.

Yes, always order from Zappos and yes, these shoes are incredible for women who have bunions or wider feet. I combine these with the Superfeet insoles and it's top of the line. I've been a customer for about 5 years with Zappos and won't go anywhere else.

Bought these for my son who lives in DC and has had reconstruction surgery on BOTH knees. This level of ASICS is the only one he trusts for running. They keep his knees stable and cushioned, and they last months longer than most running shoes. Highly recommend.

I am a woman with really wide feet. I had to email asics directly and ask them if they made any men's size 6 shoes in an extra wide and these were it I'm an 8/8.5 in women's but men's shoes are always wider, and I was desperate because I couldn't get through my group fitness classes at the gym won't cramping, so I kept trying different pairs wouldn't finding the actual cause of my woes, til the lil guy at the local shoe shop told me all the shoes they were selling me were too narrow and they had nothing wide enough to offer me!

Great shoe! Period. Comfortable, supportive and light. I have worn many brands over the years, but Asics has always been the best, and seeing how many pro & recreational athletes wear and endorse them, my opinion isn't alone.

Excellent shoes! I bought these because I suffer from insertional achilles tendonitis. A physical therapist took one look at the Brooks GTS-13s I had on and showed me how the heel cup angled sharply inward towards the tendon, and recommended I look for something else. I have wide feet AND am picky about style when it comes to shoes/sneakers. I never liked the Brooks because they are (in my opinion) ugly, but more importantly they are very stiff and uncomfortable. These Asics are fabulous. Sturdy, yet soft. I'm a fan of minimalist shoes but can't wear them because of my Achilles issue. The heel rise on these is high as expected but unlike other running shoes I've tried, these don't feel like I'm wearing high heels. Also, these shoes look even better than the pics, and they stay clean-looking due to the colors.

Very comfortable padding. Great quality shoe. Runs longer an much narrower than any other shoe I've worn. Ended up swapping down to a 16 4E from my usual 17 EE.

I could not a replacement for get my worn out Asics GT-1000 sneakers locally. I wear a size 10, 4E (extra wide). While walking on the worn out sneakers, my back started to hurt. I bought another brand of sneakers and my feet started to roll sideways (they were not wide enough). I never knew what pronating meant until then. A friend recommended Zappos and I found the successor to the Asics GT-1000 sneakers online. I was wary of buying sneakers on line but the money back guarantee, two way shipping guarantee and online reviews persuaded me to take a chance. The sneakers arrived in two days. They were exactly as advertised. They felt like a cloud compared to what I had been wearing. My back stopped hurting and my feet were stable on the ground (no rolling). As an extra, I paid full price when I ordered the sneakers on a Friday. On Saturday, I saw a price break. I called Zappos and they informed me that within ten days (I think that was the number) after a purchase if there is a price break the customer automatically gets it. I checked my email, and Zappos had refunded me the difference. I immediately ordered another pair of the same sneakers as a backup. Also, the wait time to speak to a Zappos service rep is very short and they are uniformly pleasant. Best customer support I've run into. I recommend Zappos highly.

Excellent in all respects as a replacement for a discontinued model. The only disappointment is that see sneakers are selling for less than what I paid last month.

I bought a pair of these 1) for my 23 year old son and 2) for my daughter's 24 year old boyfriend. Both claim to have feet that are hard to find shoes for in that they need them wider in the front and narrower in the back. And they love these shoes! They rave about how comfortable they are - and I got them at a good price! Thanks Zappos!
I'd also recommend:
Also Under Armour RC2 shoes fit them as well.
