Bought these after returning several other pair of shoes. These are awesome - great fit, comfortable and great looking. Zappos is great to deal with, very helpful.

These are my first pair of Asics and I am very happy with them. I would suggest these to anyone looking for a lightweight, comfy running show. I suggest going to the Asics website to see which shoe is best for your foot and arch (as I did). It helps!

My husband and I are both big Asics fans. I got these for him to replace his old GT-2160s and so far he loves these!

I purchased these for a non-runner teenage son with a narrow foot. It is hard to find shoes that both fit well and meet his approval. These fit the bill. The day after he received these, we went on vacation. He wore these shoes while doing a lot of walking. Said they were super comfortable even with no break-in period. And they look very nice. Even his picky 14 yo sister thought so!

Thank you Asics for carrying a size 13.5. These are fantastic running shoes, slightly less room in the toe box and a little less of a heel than the GT-2170, which is fine with me. My only complaint is the color selection -- too many loud neon schemes, but at least there is a black and white option for less flashy people like myself.

I really like these shoes. This is my second pair. For some reason, Asics will periodically put short laces on their shoes. The white/silver with orange laces are fine, but these have the short ones. That is annoying.

Great shoe but the GT-2000 is DEFINITELY smaller and narrower than its predecessors. For years I wore an 11 D and I had to go to an 11.5 2E for the GT-2000. Buyer beware.

Comfortable shoe. Used the Asics GT-200 to hike the John Muir trail. A good shoe but it was a bit too lightweight for the conditions of the trail. when I finished in Yosemite, the shoes went straight to the trash can.

My first pair of Asics, so I was a little wary of how they would perform. They have exceeded my expectations. I needed a narrower width of running shoe, which can be hard to find online, but the fit of these is true and snug. Cushioning is very good, and I've had no problems with blisters so far. Color selection may not be for everyone's preference, but I have grown to like the black and line colors.

I have worn out four pairs of GT's, so when I needed a new pair I ordered the new GT-2000 same size, same width. The right shoe was clearly too small, so I returned and got a half size larger. But I feel odd wearing 11.5's when I wear 9.5' street shoes. Nevertheless, they do provide the support I like.

Pretty disappointed that these started to fall apart after only four months of very light usage (the sole is separating on one, the heel padding deformed on the other). I haven't seen any other reviewers that experienced this, so it's certainly possible that I was the unlucky person who received the random dud of the run. It's just an awful lot of money to be spending on a pair of shoes that didn't even get much use. Otherwise, this is a great shoe, and I had no complaints.

I was a previous wearer of the 2100 series of shoes and found this new model to be just as comfortable. I have always been a D width wearer and with these shoes I got the EE width. They fit great and are very comfortable. They are not too narrow in the toebox as some people report.

Love the sneaker, but bit seems to be a little narrower than the 2170s and I get the 4E, a little too tight, but the fix was to skip the first two lace holes when re-lacing. Plenty of cushion and support, def recommend this sneaker.

Another solid Asics purchase for our teenage son. He needs a wide and Zappos provides! Quick service and healthy feet for a growing boy.

I bought two sizes. I am keeping one of the pair. By the way, the soles of the pair being returned were not as blue as the pair I am keeping.

As a woman with wide, problematic, size 7 feet, I've been having a very frustrating time finding women's wide width running shoes so I decided to switch to men's just for a little more variety, although finding a size 6 men's running shoes is a little more difficult as many stores don't carry that size in person. Since the men's shoes standard width seems to be a "D," I was hoping this shoe in a size 6, EE would fit. While the size was great, unfortunately, the width was surprisingly just a bit too narrow. I was soooo disapointed to have to return them as I actually like the color and design, however the blue plastic side decals that hit the base of my pinky toe put just enough pressure there to be noticable and uncomfortable and after a while, my right foot was feeling pinched. So, I'm hoping to order the 4E (I have never ordered that width in any shoe before even with my hobbit feet) and see if that work out any better. Overall, great shoe and design, but seems to run a bit narrow for EE width.

I'm so glad I read the reviews. I have been hiking in my 2170's for several years at Griffith Park in LA. When I switched to the newer shoes I started to experience foot pain and toe discomfort. No way could I wear my orthotics. My podiatrist said to always try shoes before buying as most the companies make shoes in several countries and their sizes actually vary from factory to factory. So a 13 made in Viet Nam may differ from a 13 made in some other location. Good to know. Hey ASICS, are the GT-1000 the wider toe box or the new thinner one?

Asics GT series worked well for me numerous years but they really messed up with the GT-2000 (in my case anyway). Productivity and cost metrics likely had some part in this change. It would be nice if Asics could revert back to the previous design. Luckily I saved the last few old pairs to get by using new insoles until a replacement is found. I've seen a local runner going barefoot while carrying his shoes, now I know why (just kidding - sort of). It was a good run while it lasted!

These are not the same shoes from last year. I was told that the new 2000 series shoes were just like last years 2174. But alas not so good support and less that good motion control. I am hoping they bring back the Foundation series shoe.

This shoe felt a little flimsy. I got sore on the outside of the foot radiating down from the ankle while wearing them. I never had this before. They are not as ugly as in the picture but are still pretty ugly.

Poor inside padding - hurts my feet when running - also much too long shoelaces - easy to trip over them - but I have difficult size feet and Asics shoes have more size choices than most shoe companies.

Love the way these look. I need 4E width and there are few companies that make wide shoes. Asics used to fit perfectly. Something has changed, unfortunetly and the last two pairs I purchased are significantly more narrow than they used to be. I returned one pair and will see if I can get used to these just because I like the way they look so much. I realize I'm a pain in the butt to fit but there should be some industry standards when it comes to size and width. There doesn't seem to be.

I can't find an "edit" for reviews. I walked around some more to test the GT-2000, and I am not as happy with it. I think the problem is the midsole, the "SoLyte" layer underneath the removable insole. It is only about 2/3 of the length in rubber, then the forefoot has a big stitch row and puffy fabric. I noticed that several ASICS models are like this. You can actually feel the transition of materials through the insole, and it is not good. In some models it feels like a lump. When walking, this fabric in the forefoot feels too mushy for me now. Asics should have just put the whole midsole as one rubber piece and nixed the fabric - such as the Gel Flux has. Overall the GT-2000 fits well, but the forefoot feels too mushy for me, so for that reason alone I have to downgrade the stars to 3 versus 5.

As someone with a high arch, these shoes simply didn't work out for me. It felt as if the shoe was too small vertically, and due to the lack of arch support, created an uncomfortable fit around the tongue area of the shoe. If you have high arches - stay away from this shoe! If you have medium arch, or relatively flat feet, these shoes should be wonderful for you!

I absolutely loved the 2160 and 2170s. I wore them for years. I loved these at first, and soon found them to be flimsy and lacking stability. I have written to Asics asking them to bring back the more sturdy shoes.
