For the past 4 years I have run in GT-2160's and GT-2170's. I love that shoe. I was told that the GT-2000 were an improvement on the old design. I find this shoe to be relatively flimsy. I am a moderate-to-severe pronator and the stability in this shoe did not last at all. My foot has taken over the shape and direction of the shoe and I can no longer wear it. I work n a pair of GT-2160's that I have set aside just for that, and I bought a pair of GT-2170's from another site a few months ago, and I'm running n those. I wrote a letter to ASICS begging them to bring back the old GT series. Haven't had any luck finding a new brand yet. That has to happen in store... Zappos can't help me there, unfortunately.

Compared to the 2170 this shoe is terrible. Narrow at the toe. No support whatsoever. My doctor recommended Asics when I got bone spurs in my foot. The previous Asics 2170, 2160, etc. were great. Got rid of the pain. No more trouble. I bought this shoe. The pain is starting to return. I will not be buying another Asics until the 2100 series returns or they fix this problem.

I've been wearing Asics exclusively for over 10 years now. I use them as my everyday shoe, running shoe, and as the shoe I bartend in. This shoe, however, was very disappointing. I feel no cushion or support from this shoe at all. I've never had foot problems but my feet feel beat up after I work in these. I've noticed a steady decline in the quality of my Asics shoes over the last few pairs I've purchased. This one looks like it will be the one that forces me to look at other brands.

All of my employees would wear the 2170 and go all day on concrete without any feet or knee problems. Now with new shoe, 2000, by the end of the day my legs hurt and those shoes are no good, I am wearing my old pair to get relief, I personally have purchased eight pairs of the 2170 . I cannot believe that you cheapened such good shoes. The 2000 is no way close to the comfort of the 2170.

If you are looking for a replacement for the 2170 forget it as this is a flimsy uncomfortable cousin and the GT1000 is worse. what were they thinking? I bought several pair of the original 2170 and all preceding numbers and they were the best running and walking shoes ever but now I am looking for another brand to replace a once great shoe. And, why no black?

If you just auto reorder of these like me, you will be in for a surprise!! I have ordered the ASIC 2000 models for over five years. I order at least four pairs a year. This new model is a complete flop. The top of my toes were rubbed raw. I looked at my older shoes, and they have changed the way the tongue attaches to the shoe. Faithful customers beware!!

Asics really blew it with this one. I have been running in the GT-2100s for years. This new iteration is narrower and has much less arch support and cushioning than all the previous models. My feet ache after running in them. Don't buy these if you need a stability or motion-control shoe. I'm shopping for new brand now.

I have very deformed feet so I don't know how helpful this will be to others. I bought these shoes for their light weight and they have that. But I am disappointed that the 4E width is not more roomy. Also the toes seem to kind of curl up like leprechaun shoes which bothers my toes and interferes with driving (braking, specifically). Hopefully they will get better with use but at this point I'm not all that happy with them.

If you have been using and loving the GT2170, do not buy this shoe. It is supposed to be the replacement to the GT2170 but falls short. Very little forefoot cushioning, stiff and not very cushioned in the heel.
