The negatives first. There's a puzzling inconsistency in the sizing of this shoe. I ordered a 6.5C (my usual size) in two colors. It was clearly too small in both colors: I could get my foot in no problem, but my big toe was jammed all the way into the pointy toe of the shoe and my other toes were squished. I went up to a 7C, and in the black color it fit perfectly, but in the Maple Sugar color my heel slipped out with every step. I examined both pairs carefully and while the sole length and width were identical, the topline of the upper was wider at the heel on the Maple Sugar pair than on the black pair. So if you're narrow in the heel like me, you might encounter this problem in some pairs. In the forefoot, as other reviewers have noted, it's consistently a bit narrow. If you're concerned about the stability of the heel, this one is an extremely pointy stiletto shape, but I find it manageable despite the fact that I don't wear heels often. Like the vast majority of pumps, this one has absolutely no arch support. All that said, there are a lot of positives about this shoe. It's much more comfortable than most. This is in large part because the heel is a moderate height, and effectively feels even lower because of the platform. The sole has a rubber patch so it's not dangerously slick like some. And there's a bit more cushioning than most. Despite these comfort features, this does not look like a "comfort" shoe. It's elegant, not matronly. The best-looking walkable pump I've found. The most comparable shoe I've found from another manufacturer is Stuart Weitzman's Blog. Of the two, I find the Cole Haan Chelsea Low pump more comfortable and just as nice looking.

Beautiful shoe. If you have a narrow foot, go for it. If you have a wide foot (size C), don't bother. Cole Haan is way off on definition of a "C" width shoe. My foot is wide from bone structure alone (I weigh 108 lbs), and a size C normally works. This size C feels like a narrow B.

This is a lovely shoe. However, like many other nice pumps now, there is no flexibility in the shoe between the ball of the foot and the heel. The shoe is completely stiff from front to back. Consequently, when you take a step your heel comes out of the shoe-heel since the heel of the shoe can't follow the flexing of your foot. This problem cannot be solved with "heel grip" inserts. This seems to be a problem with the basic design and manufacturing of the shoe and may be related to the platform construction. Very irritating.

Great shoes! These are the perfect workday heel that goes with everything. I usually wait for CH shoes to go on sale (yes, I stalk this brand on Zappos!) but really needed these close-toed heels for the summer. And because my other 3 pairs were on sale, I sucked it up. Definitely worth it. Simple, classic style - yet updated with the platform. I use CH shoes to explain "shoe geometry" to my friends who don't understand how I can wear heels for 12+ hours a day. (It's all about the angle between back of your heel and where the shoe's heel hits the ground, by the way!) If you're on the fence about these shoes because of price, go for it. You will have & wear these shoes for years! I am between an 8.5 and 9, and 9 in CH is always a perfect fit!

Nice shoes, well made. However, toe box is bit tight and I know my toes will definitely hurt if I wear them. I ordered my exact size in wide after reading other reviews but I'm returning them and getting a half size up in wide and see if they will fit better.

These run about a half size big in my opinion. I wear a 9 my foot is slightly narrow although I can not wear narrow shoes. Medium width is always a hit or miss for me. I ordered these in a 9 and the width felt perfect. They slipped off the back as I walked especially in hose. I ordered in a 8.5 and voila! They fit great in the regular width as well. So I hope all that helps.

I'm not a heel gal; however, this shoe makes me believe that I could wear a heel more often! Great platform support, soft leather, and a rounded toe make this shoe fantastic! After not wearing heels for about 5 years, I wore the Chelsea for 5 hours with comfort!

These shoes are awesome. The most comfortable heels I have ever worn. The first time I wore them, it was to a wedding, which included 7-8 hours on my feet, plus dancing. Now, I didn't really expect these shoes to be comfortable through the end of the evening, especially for a first wear, but they were great. Sandstone patent is a great color. I was looking for something like Kate Middleton's ubiquitous nude LK Bennett shoes, with a lower heel. These are it. True to size for me, I usually wear a 9 in Cole Haan.

I love these shoes! Yes, they are a splurge, but they are amazing. I could walk forever in these shoes! I first got them in Black Patent and loved them so much that I just recently purchased the Maple Sugar Patent too. I had ordered the Maple Sugar Patent and the Sandstone Patent because I couldn't decide online which ones I wanted. I liked the Maple Sugar color because it was a bit lighter. I did have to break in the black patent ones when I first got them. They gave me blisters for about a week, but after that they were awesome (I'm so glad I pushed through the pain to get to ultimate comfort!). I went half a size down for these. I usually wear an 8.5 in almost every shoe, but for these I got an 8. These are by far the most comfortable heels I've ever owned and incredibly adorable!

I wanted a beautiful neutral shoe that would pair with a variety of outfits and occasions. After seeing Kate Middleton rock her L.K. Bennett's, I began to see the value in having an all-purpose nude shoe. Normally, I wear a size 10 in CH but I ended up having to order directly from them instead of Zappos to get the shoe in a wide (C) in the color I wanted. The length was perfect in a 9.5 but much too narrow. The 10 was too long and not any wider. This is a surprisingly comfortable shoe given the stiletto heel. The platform really helps with comfort. I will continue to buy Cole Haan as these shoes stand the test of time.

I loved these shoes. I've been searching for nude pumps for years. The heel height is perfect -- I'm nearly 5'10" and I don't want or need the height. I have bunions too but these shoes felt fine. However, the shoes "farted" when I walked. If I wore tights or nylons they were OK -- hosiery seemed to fill the shoe and eliminate the sound. But I can't spend the money on shoes I can't wear without hosiery. Back they go. I am so disappointed. All the pumps out there hurt my bunions and/or are too high.

Such a beautiful shoe, I really wanted it to work. I'm normally a 9.5 to 10 in pumps and tried the 10 first. My heels slipped out with every step so I went down a half size. When I tried on the 9.5 the toe box felt tight, which I would have put up with it if it had been the only problem because I loved the style so much! However, I found that heels slipped out of the 9.5 as well. I tried heel grips and arch pads and neither worked. Such a disappointment! I ended up with a similar style from Naturalizer in 10, which fit well (and were much, much cheaper!).

Beautiful, classic, flattering pump. Reasonably comfy since it has a practical height heel and subtle platform to keep your body weight distributed. Goes with pretty much everything, and as long is the nude goes with your personal skin tone, will be very flattering/elongating for bare legs. The patent makes it just a little sexy (okay, I must admit the matte leather were bordering on dowdy, but these are lovely.) The toe box is a little slim. They're a nice leather so they will stretch with wear, so even though I have a wide-ish forefoot I stuck with my true-size and B/Med width. I'm currently breaking them in around the house and with a home shoe stretcher if needed. Bought them also in black patent, and they will now be my go-to interview/meeting/professional shoes.

The most comfortable pump ever! I was dreading wearing heels all day for my daughter's wedding--but now I'm looking forward to it!

This is a cute and comfortable shoe - not as sexy as the taller heel, but definitely cute. I did overdo my steps the first day and got some pretty good blisters, but this is a good shoe. I tend to be an 8.5 or a 9 and I went with the 9 on these shoes. This was a good choice.

I am not a heel lover, but these were very comfortable! They are exactly as pictured. The leather is nice and I wore them for an entire evening without getting sore feet! I found them to be true to size, but a little wide in the heel. Not too bad, it was an easy problem to fix.

I'm not a plain, classic pump kind of woman. That said, everybody needs a pair of plain black pumps available, because inevitably they will be needed. These are comfortable and versatile, yet somehow still pretty cute. The heel is low, but not at all stodgy. I'm happy with them.

These heels are magical, and I highly recommend them. I typically refrain from wearing heels; I'm 5'10" so don't need the additional height, and I also just find flats so much more comfortable. I bought these heels because for work purposes I needed to spruce it up a little bit from my typical flats, and I needed a durable, comfortable pair. On my first wear, I hardly needed to break these in, and my feet were not sore or uncomfortable at all, which is great considering they had not worn heels in ages & my feet certainly were not used to them. Granted, these are slightly lower heels than the regular Cole Haan Chelseas, but they are a perfect height for my already tall frame & I can wear them appropriately to work & out on the town as well. Overall, these are completely worth the investment and will receive much use.

Fabulous shoes! The Nike Air technology makes these shoes so comfortable, I plan to order several other colors. Love them.

I normally wear a size 6 the toe box on this shoe is too small. My toes were squished. I plan to order a different type. Returned the shoes.

After reading the reviews I decided to splurge and buy these in black and sandstone. I have a bit of a wide foot so was afraid my toes would be squished. Not the case--they fit perfectly in my normal size 6. However! I too experienced the "farting" noise another reviewer mentioned. I loved the shoe enough to try anything to fix it. I bought Dr Scholl's arch supports which worked perfectly. Put them as far as I could to the inside of the shoe and it filled in the space that was causing the suction and noise. Wore them all day and they felt great. Love the look of the heel height but the platform make them very comfortable. Decided to keep both pairs!

Loved everything about this shoe - color (navy patent), heel height, toe shape. As others have reviewed, this shoe runs narrow. I have a medium width usually, with a wide needed only on really narrow shoes life Naturalizer. I am sadly returning these due to narrow fit. Zappos, please carry more of these colors in the wide (C) sizes. I would order three or four more colors!

Great looking shoe. More comfortable than most pumps I have worn before. I initially got an 8 1/2 (my shoe size), but these shoes run small and the 9 fits much better. The color is a very nice neutral.

Love these shoes. I don't usually wear heels, but had to have some for a few fancy occasions. These are the most comfortable pumps I have ever had. Classic shape, comfort sole, complimentary to all sizes of feet and they seem like they go with every dress I have.
