I am on a seemingly never ending hunt for women's wide hiking shoes that are actually wide. Like all of the others I have tried the wide width in these shoes was no wider than a regular width women's shoe. Very disappointing. I also felt like the heel cup/back ankle was very shallow causing a lot of movement in the heel. They felt more like a rugged casual shoe rather than an actual outdoor/hiking shoe. They are probably nice casual shoes if you don't have a wide foot, but it's very frustrating when shoes come in a wide width and it is not actually wide.

Was disapointed in these shoes! They are not deep enough to take orthotics even with the insole removed. Have to return. Oherwise are nice looking.

Shoe size was fine, but the top of the shoe came up high. It was very stiff and dug into my ankle.

These are very well made and seem like they'd be comfortable, but unfortunately, they aren't for inward pronators because of the angle of the base of the sole around the arch. It's very flexible and not supportive if your ankles tend to roll more than about 15% toward each other.

This is a good looking, casual shoe. I purchased it because I really wanted a comfortable and supportive shoe to walk in. The footbed is very sturdy and does not move. Some may like that, but I was hoping for more of a cushion effect. Unfortunately, I had to wear the shoes for awhile before coming to this conclusion. If I could, I would return for something more cushy, but I do think these will hold up and they look good.

I bought these shoes after trying them on in the Clarks store. I am a 7.5 fairly narrow foot but bought the wide to have more room in the toe box. They felt like a dream in the store. However, when I go them home, I walked around in my house a little bit and started to have real issues. The tongue is really long and started rubbing on my anterior tibialis tendon and inside of my foot (I have pretty thin feet without a lot of soft tissue coverage). Plus the right shoe "breaks" in a weird spot when I roll over my foot while walking, so I am getting serious rubbing on the top of my big toe (and I don't have any toe deformities or misalignments). I thought maybe they had to "break in" a little bit, so I wore them just in the house for a few more days and all of the above problems got worse, so I am going to have to return them. It's unfortuante because they are a very nice looking shoe and the soles are extremely comfortable to stand on and walk on, plus they accomodate my orthotics very nicely. I am very disappointed because I really liked them in the store, but all the spots where they are rubbing are just too uncomfortable. There were a few reviewers on Amazon who had the same issue, maybe its just the shape of our feet?

This definitely runs narrow. I'm always a Medium, but based on the comments, I would have ordered a wide but they were out of stock. So I thought I'd take a shot on the Medium. Nope. This runs a little short (not quite half a size, but short), but very narrow. Too bad, because it's just what I was looking for. A nice urban walking shoe that doesn't look too technical or old-lady.

I am not all that stoked about the fact that they do NOT look like the picture. What looks like white on the sole is really tan like the kind of shoes seniors wear. No Bueno

I really wanted to love this shoe, but unfortunately, it didn't offer enough ankle support, and the arch support wasn't what I had hoped it would be. I returned this item, and ended up purchasing, and loving, the Lowa Tempest Lo GTX WS.

Updating my review...ater wearing the shoes around the house for a couple of hours, I'm reluctantly going to have to send them back. The area around the ball of my foot was just throbbing. Other "Wide" shoes allow enough space. Sad, because they are great looking shoes.

Overall, I like this shoe, but as I often find with Clarks, the quality is lacking. After just a few wearings, the rubber on the edge of the sole is already starting to flake off. This is disappointing, because otherwise, I really like the style. The shoe itself is has a firm feel, with light arch support, so look elsewhere if you like a cushy walk.

This shoe is too tight. I then ordered a wide...still too tight in toe box. I have never taken a "wide" in my life so I suspect the shoe is build inordinately narrow.

Normally a medium width, I ordered these shoes in W width based on reviews saying they are narrower than normal M. They were still too narrow for comfort. I did admire the craftsmanship, but there was not as much padding as I expected either.

These do run a little large. They fit more like a 11 1/2 if there were such a thing. The perfect size would be a size 10 1/2. I wish manufacturers would make a 10 1/2. Very few do. I struggle to find shoes big enough then they don't make 1/2 sizes just adds to the frustration and challenge. I give up looking after while. Zappos is great about the returns but I hate going though so many shoes and just wear my old shoes.

Loved the look and the rocking motion of the shoe, but the front of the shoe is too narrow for my foot. Felt OK when I first put them on, but after 15-20 minutes my toes started to go numb.

I ordered these based on Clarks reputation and my past experience with the brand. These shoes did not live up to that. They felt short for the size ordered and did not have the full footbed and arch support expected. I returned the shoes.

Really great looking shoe, but just wearing them in the house, the bottom of my feet "burned" Something a bit funky for MY feet. I hate to return them, but I'm worried they will not be comfortable for long days walking on vacation.

I liked the look of this shoe. It was probably the most attractive shoe I ordered to try as a walking/hiking shoe. I agree that it did seem to propel me forward when walking and it was in a comfortable way. Unfortunately, the rest of the shoe was not comfortable. I couldn't get the heel to stop sliding regardless of the lacing tricks I tried. I also didn't find the arch support to be as good as what I had used in the past. The sole didn't seem to have the shock absorbation either. I wanted to like them but comfort trumps style in this case. They'll be returned.

Disappointing. I need a sturdy walking shoe for travel that is a little better looking than a light hiking shoe. The upper looks good, but the sole makes it look an orthopedic shoe. This would be comfortable to wear around town, but the support is insufficient to stand up to even a short hike.

I am so disappointed. I know comfortable shoes; I wear comfortable shoes - some sturdy and some cushy, but all comfortable - these were far from comfortable. I always wear an 8.5M (if anything, I border on the narrow), and these were tight. Yet as tight as they felt, they still seemed to slip just a tad at the heel which I can only guess is due to how stiff they are. As I walked around the house in them, I had '70s platform shoe flashbacks, i.e., very cool-looking shoes but always felt like I had wood blocks tied to my feet - stiff and slightly unbalanced. These Clarks are obviously an attractive well-made shoe (so many love them, as I was hoping to), but if you are expecting any cushion or flexibility well, just keep that in mind before ordering, then maybe you won't be as disappointed as I was.

These shoes were too hard/stiff/heavy for me. With a sock on, they were too narrow, I ordered 9 W. I wear 8m-w in non athletic shoes.

I ususally wear a 9N shoe. This shoe definitely runs narrow so I had to size up to 9M. The shoe still rubs my bunions on the inside/outside of my foot so I am trying to break this shoe in. I am on my feet all day so I have got to have something that is really comfortable. Don't think I will try again. Would recommend GO-Lites instead. There are a few of their styles that seem to be more comfortable and have better support.

I love the way the shoes look and how lightweight they are. They fit just fine but the back could be a little higher for better ankle support. They and felt comfortable right out of the box. However, after a test run of about 15 minutes around the house, my toes started to feel numb!? I am not sure why since everything fit just right. So I decided to loosen the laces and walked around the house for another 15 minutes or so but unfortunately the problem didn't go away. I'm disappointed and surprised since I owned Clarks shoes before and never had any issue. Oh well, have to return these but not giving up on Clarks.

These shoes are really cute, but just not comfortable for me. The padding under the ball of the foot hurts, and the sides under the ankle bone are cut really low, which feels weird. I really liked them and wanted to keep them, as I need a waterproof casual shoe, but these are just too uncomfortable for me.

I love these shoes and really want to keep them. BUT it is frustrating beyond belief that they do not come in a 10.5. I bought a 10 and an 11. They both fit, kind of. The 10 is a hair too short on my left foot while the 11 is too big on my right. A 10.5 would be perfect. Still trying to decide whether to go with one of the sizes that I got or to send them all back. Bummed out.
