These are wonderful, comfortable shoes. They accommodate an orthotic with no trouble. I wore them to Italy where the walking was either uphill or down, never flat. The shoes support your feet so that your toes don't hit the front of the shoe when you walk downhill. Unlike my other Clarks shoes, they run small and I had to go up a size, but they don't look honking big when they're on. But do shop around, they can be bought much cheaper elsewhere.

I ordered wide width which fit great in the toe (metatarsal) area but the heel was way too wide. It slips on the heel which means blisters. I wish shoe companies understood just because you have wide feet in the toe area (metatarsal area) does not mean your heels are wide. I need wide area in toe area (metatarsal area) not a wide heel. I had to return them. These are nice looking shoes.

I loved these shoes, but I had to return them because the construction of the tongue had stitching between the leather and fabric that caused a painful pinch on my instep. I was so disappointed to not be able to keep these.

This is my second pair and I may buy the third. I wear these everyday all day. The shoe offers amazing support and prevents my foot from pronating. Not the most beautiful shoe, but absolutely the most comfortable. I recently walked on the cobblestone streets of Europe for 2 weeks, and I could not have done it without these shoes. I noticed other tourists wearing the same shoe. I am a grandmother, who loves beautiful shoes, but at my age I realize comfort surpasses style in my footwear. I wish Clarks could make a dress shoe with this much comfort and support.

These felt great right out of the box. I have custom orthotics that I use in them. I bought the navy initially (looks great with jeans) but later got a pair in black as well. I could do without the big loop on the back, but because of the comfort level and because they actually came in a size 12, I chose not to let the loop deter me.

I just ordered my third pair of these in red (really deep rusty orange), not because the last pair is worn, just to keep it on hand in case Clark's stops making them. I have difficult, wide feet and need a stiff shoe with room for my orthotic and sometimes a foot brace. These shoes have all that--plus they look fine walking (for miles and miles!) around urban centers. I've worn them now traveling through cities on three continents and people still stop me to exclaim on my "neat shoes." In light brown they look more like a trail shoe (but don't have the right sole for real hiking) and in black they look more like the old lady's (that's me!) standard oxford. But in orange they shine!

I LOVE these shoes. They are comfortable without looking clunky, and wonder of wonders they fit my narrow foot! I'm not sure why so many manufacturers have stopped producing narrow shoes, but there are some of us out here who desperately need them. Clarks Wave Trek fill the bill. Now if they only came in light colors. (I already have black, tan, and "blue", which is closer to grey) and am so glad I have them.

I ordered these shoes for a fall trip to Europe. I expect to do a lot of biking, walking and possibly some of it in the rain. These shoes seemed to fit the bill since they're comfortable for those activities AND they're waterproof in case of an all day rain. I ordered the red ones because they were available in my size. Normally I would have gone for the tan ones but I decided to take a chance on the red. I absolutely LOVE these shoes!! The red is not a bright "in-your-face" red but rather a darker, more subdued red and I am now grateful that they were the ones available in my size since I would never otherwise have chosen that color. I've been wearing them around for days now and they are amazingly comfortable. I bought a half size larger than my normal size since I want to make sure I can wear warm socks with them. I couldn't have gotten better shoes. These are exactly what I needed and I look forward to this trip with them as well as future trips as well. They look nice enough to work in many places and they don't have that American look of the white running shoe that makes American stand out so painfully when traveling in other countries. I highly recommend these shoes!

I never write reviews, yet rely heavily on them, so I'm finally doing it. This shoe is a dream and answer to my prayer. I've been looking for a comfortable show for walking miles a day on an upcoming trip to Italy. I didn't want an athletic shoe, but after trying many different shoes and styles (including a highly recommended ECCO Yucatan), I decided to accept whatever most comfy. THIS IS IT and I don't even need my custom orthodic. It's not as stylish/dressy as I would have liked (but only because I hear Italians dress up and don't want to look like a tourist) but I'm at the point I don't care. I just need my feet not to hurt. I actually love the the look and will wear not just for Italy, but at home as well, where I;m a pretty casual outdoorsy type girl of 49yrs young. They are true to size, and soooo comfy. Feel like walking on pillows.

Perfect shoe for a trip to France! I am not one to spend time writing reviews on my purchases, but this shoe deserved it. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what shoes to take on a trip to France. I limited myself to 2 pairs since on and off train rides required traveling light. I decided on a good walking shoe and a good walking sandal. These shoes were extremely comfortable out of the box. Great cushion and support, and, in my opinion, look better than tennis shoes with shorts and long pants. They are more like a nice hiking shoe look. They are also waterproof!!!!!! Came in handy when we came out the Orsay museum to a downpour! ( we just returned after 2 weeks in paris and Provence in June, and it does rain) We walked several blocks in the pouring rain back to our hotel and my shoes were absolutely drenched, but my feet were dry. The shoes dried out over night and looked good as new in the morning! I have a narrow foot and heel and the medium width fit perfectly! True to my regular size in length. I bought the grey leather which really more of a light brown to me.

Bought size 8 (about my size normally and it's still a bit roomy), Medium width and my narrow feet don't slide around in it while also not being tight. Arch support is far better than most shoes, but not for really long days without wearing my arch support sleeve. Good traction, but yet to test on snowy/icy conditions. Haven't slipped in wet conditions, yet. Smooth, soft feel to the fabric which looks fetching but tough design of hiking boots. Good laces that don't come undone easily. I would like another pair, and hope these last for years.

I work on my feet all day and I'd yet to find a pair of shoes that held up (granted I don't have the resources to try all kinds but I compared many cheaper brands & some on zappos with their free returns). This one holds up darn good, excepting 8+ hour shifts, you do feel pain by then. I love how all the smudges & scuffs can be just wiped away with a rag (damp for harder ones). The moisture-wicking seems to work, but I've yet to try out the waterproof ability (hoping it succeeds). People of both sexes do compliment em (even though this doesn't matter on convincing one to buy a shoe) and the consensus matches mine of looking like a pair of slick(slang) hiking boots.

Wow! This shoe is terrific. I'm just back from being a "snow bird" on the coast of Alabama. This shoe was great for biking, walking on the beach, and shopping. The shoe is water proof so wet sand and rain were not a problem. May feet were happy and dry. I went through chemo last year which left some neuropathy (numbness) in my feet. The bumps on the inner sole are like little massages on my soles. I like that! I am usually between a 7 1/2 and an 8. I ordered both sizes and kept the 7 1/2. Great fit. The gray color is somewhat gray/brown and blends well with both black and brown clothing. The shoe also makes my feet look smaller. I am totally satisfied with the comfort and look of the Clark's wave trek. Clarks: Keep making this shoe.

I love the comfort and support of this shoe. I have very high arches and instep and it doesn't require my orthotics, but can accommodate them if the liner is removed. I bought a second pair, because I know when the style becomes obsolete, I'll still want a pair.

Great looking shoe. I'm keeping them even though the fit isn't perfect. I ordered the Wide ones, but they're a bit narrow than I hoped they'd be in the toe box. If I went any wider, my heels would slip.

Usually a 9M fits in a Clark, but not this one. Had to get a wide. Other than that they are great, comfortable and not klunky looking like most waterproof shoes.

I like these shoes. They are very comfortable and wearable right out of the box...very easy on my plantar fasciitis. I did buy them a size bigger and at this point it seems that was not necessary, but even with fairly thick socks I didn't need a full size bigger.

In my search for good walking shoes that would work with my custom orthotics -- yet not look like athletic shoes or orthopedic shoes, I found these. Love them because of the wave-walk motion, the bit of height that this wave technology offers and the fact that they pair well with black slacks/pants -- my go-to travel outfit. They're also waterproof, so great for rainy day sightseeing. The tiny bit of neon accent on the back of the heel is a nice touch. Came with 2 pair of laces; one plain black, one black/neon green. I'd get a second pair in red in my size 11, but they're out of stock right now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I usually wear an 11B, but had to size up to 12B. I've finally found a comfortable shoes. I like that they are waterproof because some days I don't want to wear boots when there is a small amount of snow on the ground.

I love these shoes!!! Very comfortable and they look great with jeans. Not as sporty as athletic shoes and not as outdoorsy as hiking shoes. They feel great for walking all day long. They are true to size and work well with lightweight socks.

I love these waterproof walking shoes! They fit true to size and width. I wear between a 7.5 and an 8. I bought the 8M and it feels just fine for my flat, sometimes-expansive feet. Have worn them in the city and on dirt walking paths to great satisfaction. They are more stable than sneakers.

These are probably the most comfortable shoes I have bought in many years. I got them for everyday walking around town, as well as short hikes. They function perfectly in both capacities. They are roomy enough to allow plenty of space in the toe area, and are nice-looking as well.

Gave this shoe 5 stars because I loved the look and feel of this shoe--loved it! However, it was too narrow for me because I need extra wide, not just wide, particularly with socks. Please get wider choices!

I hate that these shoes didn't fit me - the arch support was non-existent and the shoe rubbed my foot from the side of the small to to the middle toe. I hate having to return them because they were well-made, looked beautiful and I had thought I had finally found the perfect athletic shoe for me. But I'll keep looking. Even the spare laces in a beautiful aqua were enticing. :(
