He has diabetes and sees a foot doctor every month. That doctor is just amazed that he hasn't lost his foot yet. Every day, he has to work on his feet with the calluses and ulcer's from the diabetes. We have spent thousands of dollars on shoes for him and only found the New Balance to work the best for him! If we order thru the website, it's a lot cheaper too! When you're buying shoes every 3 months, and wear a popular size; the headaches are not worth it. I simply order on line now and get the free shipping! It's dependable and when they go to a different number (because they are always updating and accommodating), we can rest easy that the size he took in the old is the same size in the new!! That's huge for us! You do not find that with companies anymore.

I walk a lot and these shoes treat my feet very well.

Since I have very narrow feet with high arches, I have to buy my shoes online. So far the New Balance shoes have been a nearly perfect fit and that really makes a difference in comfort, support and no causing any pain. I recommend them to any one who narrow feet like mine.

i find that the new ones i ordered run small and i am unable to wear them. i am very disappointed now i will have to order a size larger and eat the small ones as i have kept too long to return..

The standard 577 has been with me for years. Its design provides lots of toe room (the key attraction for me) The new Hook and Loop 577 provides the same toe comfort with quicker access (no lacing required). While it is obviously not a slipper, the shoe provides a casual feeling as well a neater appearance.

Like always NB is a great product, however the hood and loop fasteners could be longer. The upper strap has a tendency to come undone at times because the length is too short.

I use the shoe as a casual shoe, shoe appearance is good enough to meet business casual requirements for work and also I would see this shoe for aggressive walking. I would buy it shoe again I certainly hope that it will not be discontinued anytime soon.

I like the fit but the Velcro straps could be a little longer.

I have been buying NB for over 20 years and I love how comfortable they are.

I biggest fear is that they will change (upgrade) these..they are perfect now.

My husband has Parkinson's disease so he can no longer tie shoes and its even hard for him to slip his foot into tieless shoes. He needed Velcro. His PT instructor was aware that New Balance made a velcro tennis shoe. The Pros are that you can make the opening very large to slide your feet into the shoes. The shape and the quality of the rubber sole is good ensuring no slipping which is crucial. There is good cushion behind the back and the sides where the ankle slides into the shoe to provide good comfort to that area. The Cons are in the design on the top of the shoe. The upper sides sides should extend more covering more of the top of the foot. My husband wears a 10 1/2 but this design would affect any size. Once your foot is in and the velcro is closed in place, what is viable is a huge amount of the tongue. The eye sees a wide, obvious strip of tongue, making this tennis shoe very much looking like a tennis shoe for handicap people. And like other reviews pointed out, the velcro Is too short. The top piece of the velcro will NOT extend to cover the bottom piece so you will always have exposed velcro facing upward. Poor design. Where the tongue is sown inside the tennis shoe leaves a very uncomfortable ridge on top of your foot. Inferior design. In today's world of fashion, who wears all white tennis shoes anymore??? New Balance could have put SOME color on these shoes, perhaps on their logo or some stripes. Any type of color would have given some "sporty" fashion to the shoe. His feet are "glowing" white, reminiscent of nurses shoes. Again, this makes it very much look like a tennis shoe for handicap people. So if you do not like completely white, you may want the bone or the black color. Neither of us wanted the all black version but the "bone" version is too yellowish, making it look artificial. A beige or a light tan would have been nice. And, of course, with a splash of color.

My husband is disabled and has worn New Balance for years. Perfect for him.
