I have a very fast walking pace and am very heavy so I needed a shoe that could stand up to the stresses of my pace while remaining comfortable. This shoe fits that bill.

I've been cycling through a new pair of these every year or two for the past 20 years. The last is a good fit for my foot; and the necessary velcro closures are firm and secure. A good, plain, all-day, everyday shoe

Pretty decent, wore it a while. Even once the outside was beat up, it was still comfy

Since I had problems with my knees and ankle, this are very easy to secure, eliminating the longer time it takes to tie my shoes.

STILL looking for 6.5 with 6e. Been through the web. Talked to customer service. Told I would need to select full sizes. (6 or 7) Not available or sold out. I guess I could order another pair and plan on returning. I think over the last 2 years bought 6 pairs. Maybe finally figured out the correct size, hopefully before the model gets changed again!

I wear these at work since I walk a lot. They have great cushion on the soles and support my feet very well. This is my second pair and I'll probably buy them again.

This is my forth pair of the 577 velcro by New Balance. I usually get 3 good years of everyday wear out of each pair. I also love the ease of not having to tie my shoes, lol! Fair price, too. Thank you!

These are the only shoes I wear now. I have one pair for dress, and one for yard work. The fit and support are great, but the best feature is not having to tie shoes now, or use loose-fitting slipons. Due to a medical issue, I needed to change to a wide width, but luckily, NB makes this shoe in wide as well.

The shoe is excellent with a great amount of padding for comfort but it is too tight in the toe area. I wish the extra wide was available at the time of my order. I took a chance that the wide would be OK but I was wrong.

I have worn New Balance walking shoes for 20 years. These 2 pairs are excellent, as all the others were. This time I ordered online, with no problems. Thanks for providing that option.

Beware that the straps may not secure across the width of the shoe because the straps are far too short in length. The shoe size is very comfortable,
but the straps are way too short. This is the first time that I've ever had this kind of problem with a New Balance shoe. I've bought this same brand, and type of shoe from Zappos several times before, and I was highly satisfied. The length of the straps may have been intentionally shortened by the manufacturer to save money. I suspect that many repeat buyers like me are going to be very disappointed with the shortened length of the straps. I am not able to secure my straps across the top of my shoes.

I suffer from foot drop do to a crushed nerve in my back. Needed a wide, flat bottomed lightweight shoe and found it with these New Balance. They give me confidence during therapy and regular walking. I've recently gone back to work and couldn't without these shoes. They look great too.

I always buy 7 2W shoes from New Balance. Over the years, they have always served me well. but this pair of 577 v1 hook and loop was so tight that I had pain every time I wore it around the house (did that so I could it back if it did not fit). Finally, I measured it against some of the other pairs I have, it it was more than a half inch shorter. I sent it back. 7 2W NB shoes with a white sole (so it won't scratch hardwood floors in our house) are rare, so I may try to go to a NB stare where I can try on another pair to see if this is a one off issue.
Another more minor complaint. The VELCRO is quite short, so if you want to wear the shoe loose, of want to adjust for a high foot, you can't do it. That is a really bad way to cut production costs.

Has New Balance come unbalanced? I've ordered these from Zappos twice before in past years in a 9.5 wide beige, which fit perfectly. Lately Zappos didn't have it in the color I wanted, so I ordered a 9.5 D white--right width but a size 10.5, even though marked 9.5. Sent it back. Recently I stumbled onto it on Amazon in a "9.5 D beige." That turned out to be a full inch smaller than my old 9.5. This time, hoping against hope, I ordered it in "9.5 EE beige" (no 9.5 D). I could live with the width on this one, but again, it's a 10.5 when placed next to the old shoe. Obviously, New Balance 577 walkers are no longer reliable.

These run small. I had to order an 11 instead of 10-1/2 and EE instead of regular for the same fit as my old New Balance shoes.

I purchased these for my husband. He has been wearing them for 20 years. He has bad hips & back: the Velcro closure is great!

I've ordered several pairs of diabetic shoes from Zappos. I've always been very satisfied with how the shoes fit, but this time the straps on both pairs which I ordered were about two inches too short, making it impossible for me to fully secure the straps over the tongues of the shoes. It appears that the straps were severely shortened without consulting customers like me. It's very interesting to me that on earlier purchases of the same brand-type that the straps are about two inches longer, and that I am still able to secure the straps because the length of the straps is longer. I am not sending the shoes back because I doubt that they have shoes with longer straps, but I have encountered my first Zappos purchases with which I am very dissatisfied. Let the buyer beware that the straps on these shoes may now be too short!
