I ordered two sizes in this shoe. I am typically an 8.5M. The 39 was too big and the 38 fit in the toe area, but the heel is super wide. My foot was slipping out of them when I walked. Bummer, I really love them.

I've worn Dansko pro clogs/shoes for 12 years and have loved every minute of it. I recently got a job that has me on my feet all day, and by the end of the day my feet hurt so much I can almost cry. I ordered the black patent pro xp's with high hopes. I was disappointed and here's why: 1. the insole is cut tight for my foot, unlike their regular pro clogs. I thought they might stretch after wearing them but b/c of this & their other issues I decided to return them. 2. the sole strikes the floor differently than the pros (b/c they're made of different materials) which made me stumble a bunch of times when I wore them. 3. They look like clown shoes - I don't know if it's b/c of the shiny patent leather or the design of the shoe?.... They seem more bulbous in the toe and my heel completely comes out of the shoe when I walk, unlike the regular pros. 4. I wore them to work once and stupidly forgot to bring a change of shoes, which I paid for with 3 blisters (I've never gotten blisters from other dansko's before). 5. the price is steep, but i was willing to pay it if the shoes delivered on their promises which for me they did not. I really wanted to love these and rave about how they alleviated my foot pain and gave me more energy @ work, but I cannot. I appreciate the direction these are going in and will try the next version after they address some of these issues. Bummer...

I know these are clogs so I expected a rigid sole. However, the uppers are also so rigid it took me many minutes to get one on. No way I can wear or walk in these. I'm giving up on Dansko. I don't think they can make a comfortable shoe. And yes, I've worn clogs often. Am returning these.

I have multiple pairs of Dansko Professionals. I purchased the XP because I wanted the Whiskey color (not available in the regular Professional). I have been wearing the XPs for a few months now. I have to admit that I really do not like the stiffness of the sole. Something is different about the way the XP rocks vs. the Professional. I feel like it is very rigid and rocks in a way that negatively impacts my gait. I will never purchase another XP again.

Ouch! I have been a Dansko wearer for years. I am on my feet all day in a hospital. I made the switch to the newer Dansko SP clogs and Ouch. My tiny bunions have both acted up and additionally the area near both little toes is chapped. These clogs are definitely much more narrow than the older style. I have always worn the 38's but these kill my feet. I tried but I will not keep them as they are very uncomfortable.

I always wear a size 38 in Dansko; but the left shoe is so big that I can step right out of it. I do not know why. The right shoe is perfect. I was looking forward to receiving these shoes and am disappointed. But not disappointed in Zappos.

I own plenty of Dansko & Dansko XP I know how they fit.... These FELL off my feet! Walked right out of them I have ordered 8 pairs and sent ALL 8 back. I can't believe I am the only one who noticed with the Espresso color? I just ordered 3 more praying at least 1 will fit I need brown for work. I think maybe the factory mixed up a batch of wides in here although they don't say wide anywhere. Something is wrong. :(

These are the worst shoes I have ever purchase. They were discolored when I first got them. They had a white pasty film on them. They are hard as rock and even after a couple times wearing them the don't bend and hurt the top of my feet.

After reading the previous reviews I ordered these shoes planning to use them as walking shoes in an upcoming trip to Germany. I found them very stiff and uncomfortable, the left shoe being noticeably larger then the right. They appear to be very well made. I do appreciate the ease of returns to Zappos and the great customer service.

This was hard to write a bad review since I really like Dansko shoes and have over 6 pairs. However, this shoe fits very, very small compared to all the others I own. It is probably because the leather is different then the other XP's that I own, which are patent leather. I tried this shoe on for a full minute and that was a minute to long. It was short on me and the width was extremely tight. If you can, try this shoe on at a shoe store that sells Dansko, if the fit is good then buy at Zappos. You can't beat the price and the great service at Zappos.

I went to Birkenstock specifically to purchase this shoe, based on reviews. Upon trying the shoe on, I was highly disappointed! All the Dansko shoes have a hard sole and stiff, tight, narrow fit. My feet are wide and this shoe just would NOT ever cut it for me. Although my feet are wide, they are not "fat" and have only muffin topped out of shoes when I was close to my due date with my pregnancy. These shoes made my feet feel huge...did not like at all. I did not wear the shoe long enough to give a thorough review; however, I highly recommend you try this shoe on at a store before purchasing online. My recommendation for anyone obese, suffering from plantar faciitis or anyone who stands on their feet for an extended period of time would be the Klogs USA (my fave: the Boca) or the Alegria brand. Both have soft leather and amazing insoles, not at all stiff like the Dansko.

I bought up because they are advertised as slip resistant. Not! Also, they are not comfortable at all. 9 months later...I still hope they will get more comfortable. My next purchase will be back to my fave Dansko professional.

I needed a new pair of Danskos as my current pair is 8 years old. I'm a nurse and I bought these because I wanted comfort for my 10-hour days. They are heavier than my old ones - I didn't think I would notice but my knees have started hurting and I feel like I'm plodding around in these big heavy shoes. I wore a 38 before and ordered a 38, the overall size is fine, maybe a bit wide. They are nicely padded and have aggressive arch support - I've worn them in a bit now but my foot hurt after the first few wears because it felt like I was stepping on something. I also don't like how the foot bed seems to be plastic, not leather like the old ones, and that the lining around the sides is suede? I could wear my old ones with no socks around the house comfortably and that won't be happening with these. I would not purchase these again, and I'm sad that Dansko is awful now.

I have an old pair of Dansko clogs that I love and decided to get a new pair. There is something different about the new pair, they are narrower and etremely uncomfortable around the top of my foot. I don't usually write reviews, but this was so frustrating given the cost. I wish I would have figured out how uncomfortable they were before I wore them out. I was not doing a lot of walking and I do not have a wide foot. They sit on the shelf in my closet and I have been wearing my old pair.

I don't know what's going on with Dansko. I own 4 pair and the last two I have ordered are much too small and narrow. These were adorable and I am so disappointed that I couldn't even begin to get my foot in them. They are listed as "regular width" but are measurably narrower than my existing pairs.

I have worn Dansko's for +12 years and work in healthcare. I was really excited about the Dansko XP's (which I bought...and returned at another store). I normally wear a 41, which was huge in the XP. The 40 is what I ordered but had to return because that is a touch short. The sizing just is off with the XPs versus the Professional Danskos. I love the concept. The XPs really are lighter and the cushion is very nice. But be warned that that sizing is not consistent with other Danskos and even varies between styles (the Dansko XP patent leather was wider and longer than the XP Moray). I'm sticking with the professional (old version) clogs and what I know works!

These are terrible shoe. If you love the professional shoe stick with it. Do not waste your money on these. I have had five pairs and loved all of them except this one.

Do not buy. Long-time Dansko fan. I really liked the color and design of this shoe, but within 2 weeks, the scales started coming off all over the shoes. For the price this is a big flaw. Very disappointed.
