My sole purpose for buying these shoes was practicality. I'm a busy mom with sensitive feet, and I don't have the luxury of slowing down. I didn't necessarily think these were the prettiest shoes, but I had heard so many good things about them that I decided to buy them. I have to say that these have to be the most comfortable shoes ever. I still don't think they are beautiful, but the pretty engraved vine look on rich brown leather gives it more of a classy look. If you are going to buy this and fashion is kind of an issue then I suggest either these with the design in the leather or the shiny metallic looking ones.

This is a very stylish shoe. I love the scrollwork design. This is not the most comfortable shoe in the world. Some reviewers say they can wear these shoes for 16 hours or more. I did a moderate amount of walking the day I wore them for 8 hours at work. My back and calves were sore by the end of the day. I think it has to do with the natural rocking motion of the sole. I will continue to wear them, however. It may be that I just need to get used to them. I had ordered a similar pair of shoes in my regular size and had to send them back because they were too large, so I automatically ordered a size smaller with this shoe and they fit nicely. These are the most expensive shoes I have ever purchased, but I would consider buying this type of shoe again if I found them in another style. I would recommend these shoes to others.

AMAZEBALLS! My XPs in whiskey arrived today. Galaxies better than the original Mary Jane Danskos I had years back--that spongy foot bed, hello! The only reason I'm giving them a 4 out of 5 is the foot bed on the left shoe is slightly cushier than the one on the right. I would exchange, but it's subtle and I ordered them yesterday afternoon and they arrived today just in time for me kick off my sneaks, throw them on and catch my flight to Toronto for the weekend. Vip.Zappos... as always.

Beautiful, comfortable shoe. A bit less space width-wise with the added padding. I love Danskos but with each style, I wear a different size. But thankfully Zappos offers free returns.

I bought these and within a week the texture began to wear. I have patches of light red and/or white areas on the shoes. I have other Dansko's I love but I will not buy any again with texture.

I am a big Dansko fan, but surprisingly have never worn their clogs. I do have a pair of the patent regular professional clogs, but I never wear them. I bought those for spring, but when Spring comes I wear my sandals. I bought the Dansko Pro XP to wear this Fall and Winter. They fit true to size. These shoes look great with jeans. They are very comfortable everywhere, except the top bridge of my foot. The shoe is inflexible, and although the top is padded, it still makes the top of my foot sore by the end of the day. I expect with more break in this will stop and the shoes will be exceedingly comfortable. Except for the slight discomfort at the bridge of my foot, I am able to stand and walk in these for 8 hours plus.

Fantastic shoe! Very comfortable. As a pastry chef I stand and walk for at least 10 hrs a day and these shoes keep me comfortable. I am disappointed in the slip-resistant sole. It gets a little slick on wet floors. Keep in mind this shoe is a "sloppy fitting" shoe. If you like something to hug your foot. Choose something else. For me (an original Crocs fan) these shoes are great!

These Danskos look very pretty with my blue scrubs. The color is soothing and the pattern is interesting, and I've received many compliments from both coworkers and patients. I've worn several pairs of Danskos over the years, but I've never had a pair of the XP kind. Wow! They really are more comfortable, even though they do seem a little wider. They are also non-squeaky when I walk, which is a bonus!

Great arch support. The uppers, however, are very inflexible -- sort of like wearing wooden shoes. The left shoe is comfortable, but the right one has two spots that cause real pain; attempts to stretch the leather in those areas haven't worked yet. Have to keep them since I wore them outside. They'd be fine if the right one weren't so painful to wear.

Bought these for work. I wear a size 5 on a good day, but usually have to order kids' sizes if anything runs even slightly large. These shoes fit perfectly, making me believe they run a little small. They are pretty ugly looking, but that's standard for good work shoes. I'm still breaking them in and have had very few gripes, other than that the arch support is very high and puts some pressure on my toes, which makes them a little sore. Other than that, these shoes are absurdly comfortable and I would highly recommend them to anybody in the service industry.

Little tight in the width. This is my 2nd pair of Dansko. Hoping they just need to be broke in!

I really wanted to like these. After hearing people talk about how the Dansko Professionals could feel to hard, these seemed like the perfect alternative. The footbed is more comfortable than the Professionals, more cushy but the sizing is off. In the Dansko professionals I wear a 41 (shoe size is a 10) I tried the 40 in the XP and they were too small, my toes would hit the front when I walked. When I tried the 41 the shoe was huge, my foot came out when walking. Sadly, these didn't work for me.

I've owned many Dansko products in the past and I wouldn't consider wearing anything else for my long days in the Operating Room. This time the shoe ran a little small so I had to return. I am a size 10 but with Danskos sometimes I am a 40 or a 41.

This is my 6th pair of Danskos. I work 12 hour shifts in an ER, so very rarely get to sit down. Usually I have to work the shoe in, but these felt great all of the first 12 hour shift. The little extra cushion makes the shoe more comfortable and adds to the arch support. I bought them is red. Sometimes looking at them they look kind of like snake skin and sometimes it looks like tiny rubies...love them. They are well worth the price!

Good solid, comfortable shoe. I stand a lot at work, but would not recommend for a lot of walking. A little tight along the top, but I'm sure will relax with wear.

I like these shoes a lot! The pattern is real pretty and goes well with my khaki work pants. I wear a size 7 1/2 shoe, my left foot is smaller than my right and my right foot has plenty of room. My left foot could probably use 1/2 size smaller. I work in a restaurant, but if I needed to be very quick on my feet, I'd probably go down to a 7 for both feet. A friend tried them on today and she wears a size 8 1/2 and she said they fit perfectly. The non-skid sole is great, but if you want that sole to last, you can not wear them outside. Concrete will absolutely skin the tread nubbies off the sole. The tread is thin. Bummer, Danskos! Other than that, I love them. I couldn't imagine wearing them as "walking shoes." For work, they're good.

These shoes were a little larger than my previous pair although the same size. However, I wear them with socks, so they are OK and can be comfortably all day. Also good tread.

One of my feet is larger than the other, but I've found that a 7 1/2 is doable. As expected one foot felt happy and the other foot felt a little lost. The non-skid surface is great. It seemed as if I had to adjust my posture to a new center point of gravity. Either that, or my posture was deteriorating from my previous work shoes. These felt solid, energetic. If I had to make a lot of quick moves, I would definitely keep working with Zappos until I got a pair that fit really well. I chose the pastel floral as a brave change from my taupe/tan/brown/black shoe palette. Not a good choice for me. The colors were much more pale than what appears on my monitor and the finish is glossy, not shiny. I work in a sandwich shop but shoes looked more apropos for a hospital. Bad choice on my part. Now, I'm waiting for my vintage floral. We'll see.

These did put more pressure on the ball of my foot than I was used to but after about 2 weeks of wear were very comfortable.

I bought these as a replacement for my old Dansko's and really wanted the better insole, but maybe I have a high arch or something because these didn't fit at all, and I had to return them. With the extra thick and cushy insole, there was very little room for my foot. I took out the removable insole and then I could feel the construction (staples) on the inside of the shoe with my toes. I went back to the regular "professional" ones, and am happy with them. If you have flat pancake type feet, I guess these would fit well. I love the black patent, it is pretty stylish. Overall these are great shoes!

Very, very comfortable shoes, stylish enough to wear to work, and works great with pants or skirt. There are two small problems with it, however: (1) the size feels slightly larger than I expected. I normally wear a size 8.5, but for these, I was positively swimming in a size 39. I put in a couple of sole cushions in order to make the shoes wearable. That being said, am not sure if sizing down would work, because the toe box is very hard and inflexible, so a snug fit may hurt toes. (2) these shoes are very heavy and it's to be expected with such thick soles and excellent arch support, but walking a lot in these gets tiring. I think these shoes are stylish and comfortable to stand in, but not necessarily for those who walk a lot...

I am an 8 - I tried both the 38 and 39 and went with the 38 and I can still wear thick socks with them. They were a little stiff the first day, but now they are great for work (office/on road sales), but awkward as an all-day walking shoe. All around a great shoe - but definitely not for everyone.

I find these shoes to be very difficult to fit. I am a pretty true size 9 and a 40 in Euro sizes. However, the Dansko size chart is 39 (8.5 - 9) or 40 (9.5 - 10). The 39 was way too small. The 40 was the proper length but too tight across the middle of my foot. They don't appear to fit like my old clogs, which were also difficult to fit, but were comfortable with thick socks. I want them to work, but I think I must give up.
