These shoes are fantastic! They took a few weeks to break in, and I almost returned them because they hurt a little at first. They definitely feel great once they are broken in, even for a 2 mile walk! They are comfy and beautiful. The perfect lady shoe I might add. I am going to order two more pairs for backup because I love them so much. Great job Merrell!

Wore these shoes out of the box for miles on a vacation - no problems with the sharp edges mentioned in some reviews. Ordering a 1/2 size bigger was the right choice. The suede and lower cut make these more stylish than your average Merrell shoe.

I have two pairs of these shoes. My only request is that you ask them to produce them in more colors: red, blue, etc. You know I would buy them if they were available.

I actually purchased these at Macy's and had the liberty of trying them on in the store and walking in them. I wear a 9, had to size up to a 10, may have been the rounded toe but the 10 is a tad big but comfortable with a thick pair of peds. I will say the sides run a bit high and cut into my ankle so I would agree with another review, the edges seemed sharp. So I wore these for short stints until broken in, took about 6-8 wears for the sides to soften up and now I love them. Very comfortable with good soles so you don't feel every pebble you might walk on, good arch support for a flat shoe and good padding. Being I live where we get a lot of rain, I did spray them with a water protect-ant and they're just fine.

I am 70 years old and these shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had - and as you know, I have ordered a lot of shoes. I am also very happy with the service offered by Zappos. Will be ordering from you until I don't need shoes any more. Thank you.

This shoe is so comfy! I wear them all the time and coming from the barefoot range, that says a lot. I have a hard time with slip on shoes not staying on and slipping in the heel area. I have not had that problem with these shoes and I'm thrilled! Very comfy, nice padding in the shoe, look great. The soles grip nicely, no skidding. I walk on concrete/tile a lot and these have just the right amount of comfort and cushioning. Cons - not a lot of arch support, but I do have higher than normal arches. Highly recommend them.

Love these shoes! Now entering my sixties, I want comfortable flats that don't look like orthopedics or 'old lady shoes.' Wearing the Avesso feels like walking on clouds, and I frequently hear (from females of all ages) those words every woman pines for: "Ooh, what cute shoes! Where did you get them?" When I say it's the Merrell Avesso, they are stunned that a comfort shoe can be so chic. When I say they're from Zappos, they start grabbing for their cell phones! The size fits true, and the width is perfect even for a slightly narrow foot like mine. Grab your phone/computer and check these out today! (I rated them 5 Stars only because they didn't have a 10 Star rating.) You will love these shoes.

Great shoes and very comfortable, and fit true to size (I initially ordered a slightly larger size based on the comments but returned them for my standard size). No problems breaking them in.

I'm in love with my Avesso. I bought these to replace some very uncomfortable black suede ballet slippers. What I love about Merrell is that I can wear them right out of the box! I stand on my feet most of the day and these really do the job!

Great little all purpose shoe; the 7.5 is just a hint too short for me, and the 8 would fall off. I'd get this in both colors if it fit without pushing on my big toenail.

I love these shoes! They are very comfortable and I felt they were true to size. As others mentioned they did hurt the back of my foot during the break in period but I have experienced that with all flats that I have owned from any brand.

I read the reviews and decided not to get these but then I really liked the way the shoe looked and I needed flats that had some support and a better sole than the really thin ones that are out there. I am so glad I bought these shoes! These are some of the best flats I have ever had and I hope they make this style again but in different colors and for the summer. Love these shoes!

I absolutely love these great shoes! I purchased the pair in Brown and am waiting for notification of when Black will be available, which I will purchase two pair. They are perfect with casual dresses and slim jeans and pants. An oh so comfortable. I am a diabetic and "they treat my feet right". Highly recommended to all who love the style of ballet flat.

These are really cute shoes and comfortable but they run small in size. Once you find the correct size they are great. I would recommend ordering one size up. I am a librarian and on my feet all day. I need comfortable shoes.

Love these shoes. Ordered a second pair. Comfortable, cushy and clean looking. Read other reviews about heel pain and sharp edges? I didn't experience any of that. I am between sizes and can wear 8.5 or 9, I chose the 9 and they're great.

These shoes are so cute and so comfortable. Fits my orthotics and has removable footbed liner. Love them! Zappo's Service is always great!

I purchased this shoe in the brown and the black. Seems to be my go to shoe for the season. There is good support and a flexible somewhat padded sole that makes this a comfortable walking shoe especially on hard surfaces. It is not like walking on cardboard. The backs are more firm than most other flats I have purchased. I had to wear them around the house for a day to break them in. These will go with me on my next trip to Europe for ease and comfort!

Very comfy shoe. Great arch support! Rubbed blisters on my heels the first time so would suggest wearing hose.

Great shoe overall. Takes a bit of time to break in at the heel--prepare with bandaids. Like most Merrells, though, it holds my orthopedic insole well and holds up to lots of walking.

Very comfy and squishy. The back comes up a bit high and will take some breaking in. I mostly like the look but would have preferred that it look less sporty (no yellow logo on the heel and markings on the sole) as I wear them as a work shoe. I would also prefer if the rubber sole did not look so thick from the side. But I've seen a lot worse. And this is way more comfortable than the typical ballet flat with the paper thin sole.

YES you need to order up at least a half size. I wear 10 1/2 in Merrell sneakers and needed an 11 in these. I get lots of compliments on ladies liking the ballet flat look but also having a substantial sole for more comfort with walk and wear. Slightly irritated my heel the first few times I wore them but no blister. Very versatile with outfit styles and colors. Will definitely continue buying Merrell!

Cute & comfy! Cute little flat with nice support for wearing this fall. For me, most Merrell's run small, so my recommendation is to order up at least a half size. These are really cute, fun, and will go with everything. Others have indicated the edges are sharp, but that was not the case for me - perhaps because I went up a full size on these. The fit is comfy, and the support is very good. And, as usual, Zappos' service = outstanding!

I have loved all of the Merrells that I've bought over the years. These are very cute and seemed to fit right out of the box but as I've worn them they are eating into my heels terribly. Might take some band aids and getting used to.
