My boots just arrived and I am so torn! I absolutely LOVE the look, they are amazing! I read every review and decided to order my true size, 7.5. Ugh! They are just a tad too short. Not uncomfortable but I think the 8 might be better. Unfortunately it is not available in an 8 at this time. I ordered the Twill/Black and it's smashing in person. I would have worn these constantly had they fit correctly! I will agree with others that the part in back at the ankle area rubs badly. I may try them with some different pairs of socks to see if I can make something work, otherwise I will sadly not be able to keep these. I would definitely reorder in the 8 if it ever becomes available. Height/shaft is perfect for me, I'm 5'2". I also have somewhat narrow feet so the width was great. If you can find the right fit and size these will not disappoint! There is no support whatsoever, which is why the 3 stars in that category.

These boots are lovely!! They look great and are comfortable. I will say that the one negative is that they are not insulated; I need a think pair of socks for my feet to be warm. My bad - I should have read the description more closely. They fit well over jeans and layered leggings for warmth; the ankle in the front is a little big, but works well with thick socks. The foot fits well, as does the calf section, and I have wide calves. A great boot, if not 100% warm for the winter on their own.

This boot is such a cool style, and it's more versatile and light-weight than my hardy Sorel Caribou snow boots. It's good for rainy weather as well, or you can just wear them because they are cute. My only complaint is that the buttons securing the stirrup-strap at the bottom keep coming undone while I walk. So I'll probably just superglue them closed. Other than that, my favorite new boots!

First of all, these shoes are as beautiful as they look. They are a bit darker than in the picture, though. I got the Trail color in a size 10, my regular size, which fit perfectly in the foot part; however, these boots are not for ladies with larger calves. Despite the drawstring, they do have a circumference limit. And despite being too tight on top, they were way too loose midway down the boots (in the ankle/upper-foot area), even when I tightened the strap in the middle (the black one). Also, these are not heavyweight winter boots. They seem more like hardy rain boots or lightweight hiking boots than the snow boots that I was expecting. If you are looking for boots for winter and you live somewhere like Boston (where it actually gets cold and snow sticks and turns to slush), look elsewhere. But if you are looking for fashionable, hardy rain or light hiking boots, and do not have larger calves, these are for you. Unfortunately for me, they will have to go back.

I'm a fan of Sorel's and they run small on me. I am normally a size 10 but always go up a half size in Sorel boots. I ordered both colors and both very very cute. They are the perfect winter boot for rain or snow. I wouldn't wear them in super heavy rain or tromping through puddles or snowmobiling, but compared to regular winter Sorels, these are super cute and fashionable and can go from walking in the snow to a resort club or dinner at night if you are in that environment. Not dressy, but very cute for a winter weather boot. The tan ones seemed to fit more comfy, the black ones did rub above my heel when walking, hoping that goes away since the black ones are my favorite. I'm thinking a thicker sock will help since these are not designed for warmth, and more for fashion. They are not lined with any padding for the cold. Very cute boots!

These boots are GORGEOUS! But that being said, they aren't the most comfortable boots I've had on. They really are more like something between a rain/snow boot and a fashion boot. They fit kind of loose like a willy would. My only dislike about them is that when you walk in them, the area above the heal tends to rub and it's not particularly comfortable (not to mention it wears out your socks). But otherwise, a great and so cute boot!

This is a great, well-made boot with really great style for a piece of rain/cold weather gear - excellent ability to adjust the calf width, beautiful design, unique cinch in the back of the calf. However, as the previous reviewer noted, they do run small. I thought maybe they were only small compared to other rain/snow boots, so I got my usual street-shoe size, and they were definitely still a half size small with very thin socks. I would have exchanged for a larger size, but I felt the shaft was too short for me (I am 5'4" but have proportionately long shins). These were a weird height on me... not quite a mid-calf boot and not quite knee high. Unflattering. Should have known, because in all the Sorel promotional photos, the models wore knee socks pulled up above the boots.

These boots are so cute, however the stitching at the back that connects the upper leather to the rubber sticks out and pokes my heel. Not as comfy as I hoped. I am also concerned about the strap that loops underneath the boot. I know when it gets snowy and slushy out that snow and mud will get caked in there and be a pain to clean. Sad that I have to return them.

This is a beautiful and comfortable boot but like many other reviewers reported, my laces popped within a couple of wears. I contacted Sorel as I considered this a manufacturing problem rather than a Zappos problem and I was completely disappointed by their lack of customer service. The associate suggested I purchase replacement laces on shoelaces.com or that I return the boots to Zappos but that they would not be providing replacement laces. She went on to tell me "It's not like we keep extra laces just lying around". She was arrogant and lacked the ability to sympathize with my situation. Zappos on the other hand apologized and is sending me a new pair tomorrow. As much as I love the design of this boot, I chose to go with a different style as I'm convinced that this is likely to happen again. Thank You Zappos for your amazing customer service.

I would NOT recommend this boot. THEY ARE NOT WARM OR WATERPROOF! Very disappointing after a winter of wearing them. I tried to return but they wouldn't let me. My feet are freezing when I wear them. Expect a boot for winter that's only stylish- not warm or weatherproof.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I just cannot get them to get comfortable no matter what I do. Also if you rub the bottom of the boot the rubber comes off like dead skin. Lastly, there is no way to keep these shoes looking clean. Every tiny thing leaves a mark.

SO adorable. If I were buying these purely for looks I'd be happy! However, I'm in the market for a full Montana winter and I didn't see the durability reviews until after they'd arrived. They are more rain-weight than snow weight (drat!) I also could only make them not slip in the heel by lacing them all the way up...then unlacing...since I take shoes on and off all day this just seemed like too much PITA factor. I also was disappointed in the color on the British...it's not as rich as shown online. The color is more muted and taupey...something that would look better on a "winter" skin tone versus an autumn. I usually wear a nine in Caribou's but I got a 9.5 and they fit well.

I should have listened to the reviews... the veneer was already peeling off the heel when i opened the box! Too bad because they are super cute, i went up a half size, and that was perfect. They do run short. Back they go because of fake heel.

It's important to note that on Sorel's website, these boots are listed as "casual/rain", not snow boots. Please do not purchase thinking you will be wearing them when it's 20 degree's in a foot of snow, they are no where nearly warm enough and actually do feel like a rain boot when you put your foot into them...there is virtually no lining. This being said, they are quite cute so if you are looking for a stylish boot to wear in late Fall/mild mild Winter and rain, you'll like them. Otherwise I suggest looking for a true Winter boot. Lastly, I do feel the price is rather inflated for what you are getting. You can get the Sorel Slim Pack Riding boots with full leather uppers for less. Sorry, love you Sorel, and will continue to support you, but have to be honest.

I bought these in November and Boston finally got a huge snow storm so I was able to try them out. After wearing them for 2 days, I am sending them back. The tread on the toe part is nice and deep, like a hiking boot. But the tread on the heel is non-existent! Why would they do that? Every time I stepped on a patch of ice I slipped! And I was the only one of my friends who was struggling. They're a hazard in slippery conditions...so sending them back. The good - these boots look cool with skinny jeans and are very comfortable. They also kept my feet warm and dry, but safety is more important than comfort in these conditions.

I bought these to wear to the Army-Navy game a couple weeks ago. It was a cold day in Baltimore (not freezing but cold). The boots were warm, stylish, and comfortable for walking around and standing. For the price, I was disappointed that the rubber shell of the shoe peels. They looked worn after one day of wear. I own a pair of the Joan of Artic Wedges; they are just as expensive but the quality and make of the shoes surpass the quality of these boots. Though I love the look, I am still disappointed that the quality is not better for what I paid. Zappos' shipping and ease of ordering still remains five stars, I cannot say the same about these boots (unfortunately).

These are cute boots. They are unlined so the seams rub. I had to return them. They run small. I usually wear a 9. The 9½ was snug.

I love the look. They have light fleece lined feet and a smooth liner on the leg so pants don't bind up. They have some warmth but generally do not make my feet overheat indoors. For me they run nearly a half size small. The seams around the foot are not of great quality and bulge inward so they tend to rub and make the fit tighter in my true size 7.5. So I ended up with the 8 and in a thin wool sock, but they fit too big in some respects. I do have older pairs in the short and tall from several years ago and they are 7.5 and fit perfectly. The quality used to be better. But I still love the look and people always notice them.

There is a lot going on with this style - very busy look to the boot overall. Also doesn't look like the strap or the wood veneer heel will survive for long in inclement weather so I returned it. As for fit, I recommend ordering up a half size -- seems to run a bit short.

Love these boots. But they run small have to return for larger size. I have a pair of Sorel boots in a size 7. They are a little big. So I order these in a 7 - a little small.

I bought these less than a month ago, and the lace snapped already. I have only worn them maybe 10 times. I sent a note to customer service to see if I could replace them, with no response. I was otherwise pleased with my purchase but am not too happy with the lack of response from this company.

Wanted to love these... was concerned they were too small so I ordered an 8.5, which essentially seemed like it was the same length but wider, especially in the heel, so I stuck with the 8's. I bought Ugg insoles to put in them because they were a) too roomy in the heel, b) did not keep my feet warm at all, and c) they weren't cozy and didn't provide enough support.. so the Ugg insoles made a huge difference, especially with warmth! The reason why I have to send them back is because where the leather and the rubber meet seems to be coming unglued, after only wearing them for a day! NOT acceptable for them being this cost of boots. So my search for cute, comfortable, warm, weatherproof boots that aren't clunky and acceptable for wearing to work or out for drinks continues.

I really wanted to love these boots, because they look fantastic, but the way they fit just kept digging into the back of my ankle and I knew I would regret keeping them. I returned them, but I will say that they are gorgeous and if they fit you comfortably, you will probably love them.

I loved these boots in the "Get your boots dirty" ads and on the Sorel site and was really excited to order them. I currently have a pair of riding rain boots, which are not quite warm enough for winters in Virginia (cool and sometimes wet, but not super cold) so was looking for a boot that would be warm enough and stylish. I was not at all clear about sizing when I ordered as some people say that the boot fits big, while others say it fits small. I normally wear anywhere between a 10 and 11 in boots (40-41 EUR), so thought I'd try the 10.5. Sadly, they were way too big. I'm not sure what sizing standard is used, but these 10.5 boots are marked at 43.5 EUR, which is not accurate, at least for women (perhaps they used men's sizing?). Not only that, but they have very strange arch support, which feels more concave than any other shoe or boot I've ever owned. In fact, it makes it fee like your toes are pointing up in the boot, which I could see creating a problem after some wear. The style is nice, but the boots fit and feel quite clunky, more like a pair of huge galoshes from childhood than a stylish pair of boots. Again, maybe this is due to the large size, but I can't see these fitting much different, even a size smaller. They also have thin lining, so you'd want to layer a thick leg warmer for this to be a boot for cold weather. Overall, not at all what I was expecting. So sad, as I was really hoping they'd be a good fit!

Based on someone else's review, I ordered down a half size. Too short, so the boots in my opinion are true to size, but very difficult to get on and off.
