This is a perfect boot. I am twiggy legs so I was thrilled when these adjustable width boot shafts fit like a glove. They run a half size big...I am a size nine but I bought these in 8.5 and they fit perfect. They are a splurge but worth it.

Love this boot. The boot shaft isn't too big...it fits the curve of the calves since it is adjustable. Worth every penny.

These boots do not run small. They run I think 1/2 size big. I have muscular calves so boots are a challenge. Most are too big and then some too small but these adjust nice to your calf size.

LOVE THIS BOOT! This boot is extremely comfortable and stylish. The tan lining is rather thin, so I'd classify this boot as more of a fall boot. Also, if you have thicker calves, then it's the boot for you (it has a black adjustable strap that makes it more comfortable for any size).

One of a Kind Rain Boot:
Ok first off, this is not a snow boot, it is a novel take on a rubber rain boot. Second, the leather strap that goes around the foot bed is incredibly impractical, will likely get torn off, and if you look at the Sorel Carly II, they have removed this strap. Having said all this, I purchased this original Carly and LOVE them. They are absolutely fierce and bad-a**. Its like something Lara Croft would wear, and I get tons of compliments. It rains relentlessly here, and so far they are rain proof, but I'm not walking into deep puddles either. They may not be as functional and durable as a pair of good old fashioned rubber boots, but I love finally having another option that is a bit more rugged looking.

Love this boot. Very fashionable and functional. Followed other review advice and ordered one full size up and glad I did as they fit perfectly. I normally wear a size 6.5 and ordered a 7.5. Not sure why they were produced so off but knowing this made all the difference.

I have read so many reviews of many different Sorel boots. And they are all so different. It is hard to tell, so here is my experience. I wanted waterproof boots with style, tall, something a little more casual versus the tall leather ones that I wear most of the time. I first bought the Joan of Arctic. It was so clunky, like a fire mans boot. They were very enormous and definitely insulated. I did not wear them, sent them back. I then ordered the Conquest Carly in 7½ (my true size) and it was small! And what was strange is that there is a seam where the leather meets the rubber wrapping around the ankle area. I could feel it and didn't understand why no one else was complaining about it on reviews. Ouch! So I sent that one back and got a size 8 and I really like them! My heel slipped in and the seam now hits above ankle so you cannot feel it like before. So if you feel the seam and it hurts, it is probably too small. They look great, they take a little time getting on/off but that is not a big deal to me. Very unique style. I need thicker socks for these boots.

I was super excited to get these boots because I'm obsessed with Sorel brand anything. I own quite a few pairs of Sorel boots already. I ended up having to order and send these back 3 times before I got the correct size. Sorel apparently doesn't fit true to size with all of their boots. When i finally got the size I needed I LOVED them, they are adorable and extremely warm. However, the back part, where the rubber meets the fabric, has a little lip on the inside of the boot. It rubs my heel/achilles raw. I have to make sure and wear extra thick socks in order for them to be remotely comfortable. Otherwise, great boot!

I love(d)these. Today they officially cracked in half at the toe box. Once, I get home they will wind up in the trash. I got a good year and half out of them. I was hoping to make it through two winters. But, the Sorel Gods were not granting me my wish. To anyone who is thinking about purchasing them. I found these to be great for my wide toes, my big calves. I thought they made me look slimmer. I got nothing but compliments. These are the sexiest faux-combat boots you will wear. However, they do not last as long as UGGS and are the same price point. That's disappointing. However, I am going to repurchase because you can easily wear them with extra socks and you won't sweat to death when the temp goes from 5 below to 60 degrees in one day.

I normally need a wide-calf boot, but thought I'd try these since I've tried wide-calf rain boots and they always fit awkwardly - huge at the ankle, pinchy at the calf. My calves are 16.5" at the widest part and these fit great! The inner cloth lining is slightly snug, but I'm going to add an elastic gusset to fix that. I can still wear them, and lace them fully. A lot of reviewers said to go a full size up, so I got an 8.5 instead of my usual 7.5, but they are pretty loose. I'm going to add an insole, the support feels better than a typical rain boot, but I walk a lot so would like better support. I'd say go half a size up if you don't want to use an insole. The only thing I would change about these (aside from Sorel offering a true wide calf size) would be to add a zipper so that you don't have to lace and unlace every time you wear them, but that probably depends on the shape of your legs, I have small ankles relative to my calves, so I have to lace them snug at the bottom to get them to fit how I like.

I'm not an online review-writer, however, after the amount of time I spent reading and searching for boots this winter, I felt it was only fair to pay it forward. Having not lived in a winter climate for quite some time, I went with a brand of boots that really let me down after the first snow. When the second and third snow storm hit, I was frantically searching for a pair of Sorel's to try after reading tons of reviews. NOTHING available ANYWHERE. Zappos had one pair left of my size in the Conquest Carly, and honestly, based on the fit review, I thought they wouldn't work. However, THEY DID! They've been great in the snow and slush with the following "eh" points: toes froze after 15 minutes on the coldest days so far. Soles were *very* slippery on tile, metal on subway cars, and escalators in the station. Laces don't stay tied without a good strong knot. Kind of a pain to take off after trudging home. The salt/slush is REALLY apparent on these, however, on certain parts of the boot (the heel especially, and honestly, I am not about to clean them until we start to thaw out for good). That being said, overall, I'm really happy with these. The fit was true to size, they've been great in terms of water/snow-proof, and they help keep me MUCH warmer than I had been in another well-known brand. I will buy more from Sorel... if they're ever available again!

These are very waterproof and very comfortable. They are not well insulated. I bought mine a half size big and knit some knee socks with bulky yarn to wear under them, which has turned out to be perfect. They are made for a voluptuous calf.

Love these boots! The Only drawback is the laces are leather and do wear as you lace the boots up with each wear (which is why I gave 4 and not 5 stars). That said I love them and get many compliments on them but if you need quick on and off these aren't your best bet.

Lovely to look at. But I have a high instep and it's really difficult to get these on. And once on they are very tight across the top of my foot. Otherwise they seem quite comfortable. Beautiful, sorry they didn't work for me.

These are gorgeous and sturdy boots. They're not ultra-warm, but will obviously be paired with thick wool socks when needed, and I appreciate that I can control the warmth level that way as I hate when my feet get too hot. Biggest problem I have with these boots is the sizing. I originally ordered my normal size of 7.5 which were much too small so I sized up to an 8. After having the 8s on for a bit, just walking around the house and sitting down a bit, I decided they are also too small for nice thick wool socks and am exchanging again for an 8.5. But the style, ruggedness and otherwise perfection of these boots has me determined to make them work!

I like these boots but don't love them. They will be great for winter, but: - I haven't fully broken them in yet, but as of now they are pretty uncomfortable and i have some scars on my feet from these rubbing them the wrong way. - inside is rough/burlap-py...not cozy. Need nice socks. - hard to slip on and off - you really have to undo all the laces to get your foot in and then lace them back up again.

I really like this style boot but reading further into reviews didn't like what I was reading about these falling apart. I need something that can withstand rain sleet snow and ice. Buckle at back of boot was jabbing my leg.

Love these boots! I wear them pretty much every single day during the winter. I love the style, it's not your regular snow boot, it's pretty stylish and you can wear them anywhere! They got here super fast too! It was only 2 days before they got here and I chose standard shipping. I did, however, feel they ran half a size small and were a little tight in the beginning, but now they fit perfectly, although it wouldn't hurt to go half a size larger. Also, it is sort of a pain to put them on and take them off since there are shoelaces and they get pretty tight around the ankles.

I think these are probably one of the cutest pairs of winter/snow boots that I have seen, so they if that is a factor for you, then definitely consider these. I think they look really cute with jeans or leggings, or you could wear them with a casual skirt and tights, too. Because of the laces, they can pulled in so they fit skinny calfs in a snug way, which is another bonus. I found them to be waterproof and perfect acceptable to wear on a cold, snowy winter day. My feet stayed warm and dry, though you do need warm socks since the inside is lacking a warm lining. These are also pretty comfortable and they are high enough that you probably will not get rain or snow inside your boots/ on your ankles they way you sometimes do with shorter boots. My only caution is that these can be a pain to get on and off, especially if you have a really high arch and the top of your foot naturally arcs up. I almost returned them for that reason, and then I read another review where the reviewer stated that loosening the laces can help. I tried unlacing mine all the way down and was able to get them on and off with ease. No more struggle! That is kind of a pain to do, but worth it for the cute look in my opinion. But if you want boots you can easily tug on and off and you have a high arch, then maybe think twice. I went up half a size based on reviews and they are a bit big. I would say to order your usual size. I have wide feet and did not find these to be narrow at all.

Adorable, but as other reviews have said, not the typical Sorel winter boot, more like a rain boot on the bottom, and a canvas/leather upper. I thought they were true to size, I am typically between 7 1/2-8, I ordered the 8 and they are perfect, I can comfortably wear medium thickness ski socks for extra warmth, or thinner socks for more all-day comfort. They are perfect for apres ski, shoveling the car out, or walking to the store when it is slushy and gross out, but for snowshoeing / actual winter activities in the snow for extended periods of time I will be sticking to my insulated winter boots. My only "complaint" is that they take a bit of effort for me to get my foot in/out, but I tend to have stiff ankles, so I have this issue with a lot of non-zipped tall boots.

I ordered these in 8 first and was worried they were a little too small in length.. my toes kept rubbing but not enough where I was in extreme discomfort. They are wide in the heel, lots of extra room even with thick socks, which worried me because if you don't lace them tight enough, your heels will rub. They are definitely not warm boots...the rubber makes them waterproof but they do not insulate. I took the advice from one other reviewer and bought an Ugg insole for $15 from a local store and that made these 100X better...warmer, more support, etc. I ended up ordering the 8.5's to see if they would give me a little more room in the toe, and I was surprised to find that there wasn't much of a difference, they just felt more clunky and loose in the heel, even with the Ugg insole. So I am sending the 8.5's back and am keeping the 8s. They are adorable winter boots that are great for running around, for work, going out etc. Definitely not for dog walking, playing in snow, or being on your feet for 12 hours.

So these boots are pretty rad. Exactly what I was looking for as a New Yorker. An every-day stylish but waterproof boot. (Now I don't have to carry an extra pair of shoes with me!) I got the black because in the picture the inside lining and bottom of the boot look brown- I wear A LOT of brown (more than black possibly) and really wanted that element. When the boot got here it was all black, no hint of brown. Plus the white stripe on the bottom makes it look sneaker-esue which wasn't my favorite. Also, they are a little short in the toe for me. They are going back for a half size up and the cinnamon color instead because I think it'll go with more outfits. There is a lovely tan on beige version of this boot which was my first obsession but every page (including Sorel themselves) are completely sold out. Let's hope the upgrade is what I want because I can't wait to wear this boot if it's as beautiful and functional as it promises to be! Also- customer service was super fast and polite about getting this exchanged quickly, and the initial delivery was also very quick. Thumbs up to Zappos.

Cutest boots ever! I don't know why people say order small? I usually wear an 8-8.5 In shoes and 9 in boots. Due to mixed reviews, I ordered an 8.5. Too small by a hair! I would rather wear thick socks than feel my toe on the end. Oh and they are not warm. So consider a larger size with a bootliner If you need to wear them in the snow!

I love this boot! They look fantastic and I feel very stylish wearing them. I'm 5'2" and have skinny calves so it's very hard to find tall boots that fit, and you can cinch these boots to fit your legs perfectly. These boots also run a half size big; I usually wear a size 6 but wear a 5.5 in Sorel boots. Cons are your feet don't breathe very well so sometimes my feet overheat and they don't offer superior support so my feet get sore after extended wear. Oh, and they are a pain to take off since they are lace up, so I avoid wearing them if I'm going to be taking my shoes off and on a lot during the day. But for me, these cons are minor annoyances. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. I've never loved a pair of boots so much.

These boots are really comfy and warm, but not OVERLY warm. I live in San Francisco where it doesn't snow but gets cold and rains, and I thought I would not be able to wear them except on visits to snowier places, but I was wrong. They work well for rainy weather too and are light enough that it doesn't seem like overkill.
I am usually a size 9, but the 9 I ordered did seem big, so I sent for an 8.5 to see... and it was a little too snug so I stuck with the 9. I put a padded insole underneath the insole that came with them which filled in the extra space and make them perfect.
