These are great - they provide excellent support and are comfy enough to wear for extended walking or just around the house.

Very nice and comfy shoe but have to return as the right shoe was cut funny and threw my foot over on it's right side. Will re-order another pair and hope it's normal

I bought my second pair to go to Alaska, and wore these every day for 12 days. Great for casual wear with jeans in town, walking on the beach, or hiking. LOVE these shoes! I wore the first pair out and was thrilled that I could purchase the same shoes again!

I bought these shoes two years ago before a European trip for support in walking on uneven surfaces. They fit beautifully from the beginning, provided excellent support and look good doing it. Recently, I tried to buy another pair locally and the stores only had the 2017 model which had colors I didn't like. A sales associate suggested I try Zappos! I have bought 2 more pair because I'll be wearing these shoes for years to come. Highly recommend them if you're looking for a great walking shoe. This is my first purchase from Zappos and I'm very happy with the service. Thank you Zappos for carrying the black color without the green.

These are cute cute cute. Make my banana boat feet look smaller. VERY stylish for a heavy weight hiker. I am saving these for winter. Hurrah...I finally found hiking shoes that fit. One of my feet is 10.5 and the other is 11. I ordered 3 pairs of Ahnu's and they all fit. The Ahnu Montara II is a well constructed hiking shoe...but not too bulky feeling. I'm a happy camper. Thank you Zappos for all your patience with the shipping.

I love these hiking shoes. I wear them almost every day and can walk forever in them. I bought them originally for a trip to Europe and wore them every day for a month, rain or shine. Great traction in wet weather, and nice enough looking to wear walking around town. I own two pairs and just bought another since I am finally wearing down the sole after a year of steady wear. Unlike many other shoes, these laces stay tied.

I love the look and style of this shoe. It is so comfortable. I wear a size 8 and thats what I ordered but my big toes felt like they were at the end, so I ordered a half size up and they are perfect!

I've owned other Ahnu shoes so I took a chance on these shoes before our Oregon trip. I thought that even if they didn't work out on hikes, they'd at least be good for easier walks while sightseeing. The comfort from the moment I slipped into these was expected but that this comfort maintained during serious hikes was superb and exciting. I never took them off! And I have cranky feet and ankles. Excellent balance too for my pronating feet! To my surprise I was able to traipse in slog and snow with my feet dry and happy. I used to spend lots on uncomfortable Merrells, but they were the only hikers that fit ... until now, I'm going to reorder another pair in a different color cause they go so well with both exercise wear and casual wear clothing! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Love the way these look and feel! The arch support is great. Unfortunately the heel is simply too wide and my foot goes up and down as I walk. I do have a narrow foot so not a huge surprise.

This is my new favorite shoe! I love the vibram sole for walking in wet autumn leaves and the good arch support makes distances a breeze. It is a low hiker for trails where you won't be concerned about your ankles, but I found I wore them all winter in our snowy northeast just comin' and goin'. It is not a clunky hiker and doubles as a sneaker visually so is great with jeans. My last trip to CA & MI it was my wear-all day shoe regardless of where I was going. I tend toward cold so the leather keeps me warm. I'd love to see Ahnu make shoes for work.

This is my second pair of Ahnu Montaras. I bought my first pair at an outdoor store for a hiking trip in the Alps. They did not require a break-in period and were comfortable hiking many miles, day after day, without pinching, hot spots, or blisters. My foot is a bit wide, size 7, and Montaras fit perfectly. A medium-weight sock works best. Socks too thin make my feet move too much, whereas thick socks feel constricting. Although Montaras are waterproof, they are breathable and cool for summer hiking. The only reason I replaced my first pair was that I ruined them by walking on the beach for two winters. I'm so glad that this style was still available when I needed to replace the first pair that I had for 4 years. Of course, I had to buy them from Zappos given their great customer service!

WONDERFULLY SUPPORTIVE AND COMFORTABLE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.

Love them! Love the color and the style. Extremely supportive for someone who works 12 hour days on my feet the whole time. They run a little larger but not uncomfortable. The lacings become undone easily, so I have to double knot them. But really love them and feel totally supportive in them.

The Ahnu's are very comfortable. I am having an issue with the back rubbing against the back of my ankles. I also used thick socks to limit the rubbing. Overall, enjoying these Ahnu's Montara

These are nice hikers, with a solid base of support inside and out. They are surprisingly light weight on the foot, and on my size 8-mild bunions-narrow heel foot, reasonably comfortable out of the box. I purchased the "Forest Night" and my only negative comment would be that in the picture, the material on the upper looks like it has some variation, a slightly brushed quality? In reality, it is a very flat single color.

I have never had hiking shoes before but I'm glad I picked the Ahnu Montara II. I put these on laced them up, and off I went. No break in needed with these shoes. I bought them to wear on our hiking trip at Yellow Stone Park and Rocky Mountain National Forest. My enjoyment was increased by having a great shoe to wear not just hiking but for everyday I was there. I continue to wear them now because they are waterproof. They have good support and don't leave blisters all over your feet. Thanks Zappos for sending them so quick! Your the BEST!

These shoes are the bomb! After ordering many shoes, and styles, it was easy to make the decision to keep this pair! I always wear a size 8 in all shoes and these were no different. Plenty of room for thicker socks. Refreshing color goes with everything. Walked a couple of miles in them, around the house, before heading out west with them. No breaking in issues. Stayed tied. Compliments, and questions, on every trail I hiked never hurts!

I love these shoes, the styling and colors are very nice. As others have noted right out of the box these were very comfortable and required no break in time. I often hike with my dog early in the morning when the grass is still wet and I have found these to keep my feet warm and dry. I have a wide foot and often have trouble getting a shoe that feels comfortable but these were great. I would recommend these shoes, I'm very happy with them.

These are as comfortable as any shoe I have ever worn... right from the very first wearing. I will wear them even for walking they feel so good.

I really wanted this shoe to work for me however I have a size D (wide) foot and it just didn't feel as well as the Merrell, which did come in wide width. Otherwise, I would have bought it!

Great shoes...my second pair. The first pair were recommended when I was shopping at REI in Bend, OR. Fit well (with orthotics), waterproof and good weight.

Wow, were these wonderful! Finally, after many orders and returns, a hiking shoe with a wide enough toe box! And so cute! The water resistance was good too. Even after two weeks of various hiking experiences, including 4 days through the Andes to Machu Picchu, they felt and looked great!

I tried multiple pairs of walking/hiking shoes in preparation for my trip to Italy, which would involve lots of walking. These were the ones for me and I wore them problem free for our 10-day trip. I have somewhat high arches, struggle with plantar fasciitis and am challenged to find shoes that fit in the heel area. These were great. And they are waterproof yet fairly breathable. I do have to double knot the shoe laces to ensure they stay tied. I use my own SuperFeet green inserts in them to ensure adequate arch support.

These are my favorite walking/hiking shoes. I wore out my old pair after about 4 years, so I got some new ones. I expect they'll last as long. Very comfortable and good for long walks/hiking.

These are great hikers, walkers. I put in 3-5 miles a day in these, from September to June and they fit well, don't give me blisters around my ankles, the tread seems to have held up well, and I'm on my 3rd pair over 3 years. Great on plowed sidewalks and trails in Minneapolis all winter, and a good trail shoe in summer. I love the purple color - a nice change from trail beige, brown, or black.
