I have two pairs of nimbus 12. I LOVE them. These are about a 1/2 size smaller. The nimbus 12 are like walking on air, the nimbus 14 however are not.

These shoes look just as pictured and I love the style and colors. My friend has the same pair actually and I was telling her that the first time I worked out in them my feet were going numb within minutes. She immediately said the same thing happened to her. It's not that they're too small, it's almost like they're too tall in the middle and make your feet feel stuffed between the top and the bottom of the shoe. I ended up having to take them off during my workout because my feet hurt so bad. I'm keeping them because I really want to make them work, but I'm concerned that my friend had the exact same experience. She said it took a while to break them in and avoid that issue. So be sure you try them out a bit before you decide they are "the ones."

I had the Nimbus 11, which was hands down the best sneaker I've ever owned. Then, I wore them out. So I bought these, and I can't believe the difference! These have no heel support - I was all over the place - and they were way, way too cushioned. I even exchanged them twice in different sizes to see if it was my freaky feet. It was not. Sad days for me, now I have to find another sneaker.

Great arch support and comfortable but these shoes have no traction. They work great for running but not for any inside gym activities. I bought these shoes mainly for indoor aerobics and interval training and they do not work for any floor work. I find myself sliding all over the place.

I have a wide foot and bought the D width shoe - but it still seems a bit narrow. I had to buy an entire size up from the recommended size based on my old running shoes. The toe box is a bit narrow still and the heel quite wide. Hoping they mold to my feet as I break them in...

I agree I love the Nimbus 12 as well. I have the Nimbus 14 different color but it feels like they are always too tight across the laces. Nimbus 12 felt like little pillows for my feet. Passed up the Nimbus 13. Wore my raggedy old 12s. Love Asics though.

Low, narrow toebox. In the past, I chose Asics because they were the classic "clown shoe" - roomy & wide in the forefoot but cozy & snug in the heel. Even with marathon training, I've never had a single black toenail despite having somewhat up-turned "elf toes". Luckily, I had stock-piled the Gel-Nimbus 12 because 13 was radically different. Unfortunately, my 5 pairs of 12's are gone & now the search is on. My foot: Narrow to medium width with a medium to high instep Big toe longer than the second toe Gait: Neutral to under-pronating Mileage: 20-30 miles per week Here's my take on the Gel-Nimbus 14: + The heel on the 14 fits BETTER THAN EVER, cupping & cradling the heel oh so nicely +/- Gone is the asymetrical lacing system but I'm not sure how important it really was since they didn't have it on the 13's either +/- The 14 feels much less cushy than the 12; less like walking on a cloud. Since I didn't get to run in these I can't really say how the lower "cush-factor" would feel when it counts. They definitely weren't as fun to walk around in though. - BIG NEGATIVE! The toebox is super restrictive, low and narrow. These shoes were very tight across the big "big toe" joint; you know, that joint where you'll get a bunion if you wear shoes that fit like this. Also, the top of my big toe nail, the flat part you paint, not the edge you clip, rubbed against the flat portion of the shoe. It wasn't that the shoe was too short, it's that there isn't enough height clearance in the toebox area. I'm grateful that Zappos has such a large selection of running shoes and such a liberal return policy. Maybe they could get me some clown shoes from Ringling Brothers?

This sneaker's outside support around the mesh dug into the side of my foot around the joint of my little toe. Again, why make a wide sneaker that cuts in where the toes are?

Great looking shoes, but didn't work for me. I have been having problems with shin pain. Tried these hoping they would help. Tried them out on my morning walk and they hurt more than before. Also not quite enough arch support for me I love Asics but I think I'll have to keep trying until I find the right one for me.

The toe box in this shoe is very angled on the outside of the foot. Went straight back. Asics opened it up in the new shoes (released March 2013). I would not recommend this model; mine went back.

When I walk in these shoes the tongue is so low it rides across my toes and hurts. My feet burn after wearing them a few hours. I love the colors I just wish they fit better. They are too narrow and if go 1/2 size up the heel slips.

I've been wearing Asics Gel Nimbus for years, and really wish they'd bring back the Gel Nimbus 12, which had great cushioning and arch support. These (the 14's) are OK, but I spend a lot of time on my feet on hard floors and these don't have the arch support that earlier models had (except for the 13's, which had very little). I'm keeping them, but I'm going to have to shop for another brand of shoe for my next pair. Why can't manufacturers leave well enough alone?

Really had higher expectations for this running shoe. While its comfortable for low impact activities, intense running for a sustained period of time made me countdown to the point when I could take these shoes off. A bunch of small issues with how the shoe fit that were not what I expected for this cost. Guess I have a Cadillac pair of walking shoes now?

I've been running a long time and this is the first time I tried Asics after seeing so many people wearing them. They aren't my favorite. It seems like the toe box is too big or something. The length seems right though for my size 8.5 foot. I also am a midfoot striker, so maybe they aren't great for that. I wouldn't buy them again and probably won't even wear them in my half marathon, which is what I bought them for.

If your feet get hot during long runs, this is not the shoe for you. I got these shoes during winter & after a 3 mile run my feet would start getting very hot. I certainly don't want to wear them in the summer. Also, I had some issues with the padding on the arch. I slightly underpronate & the padding on the arch increases my underprobation problem. Other than those issues it's a nice looking comfortable shoe.

I have been an Asics fan for years. That being said I have was not a fan of the Nimbus 13 and now the 14. Asics your improvements are making the Nimbus worse not better! The Nimbus 12 was the best running shoe, stop trying to one up a product that was great to begin with. Until Asics gets the message to give the roomy toebox and cushioning back to the Nimbus this customer is switching loyalty to Brooks Ghost. Please reincarnate the 12!

Like others have said, the 14 is an improvement on the Nimbus 13, which I did not like at all. But I still think it is not as good as the Nimbus 12. I had 2 pairs of 12's and loved them. I love cushioning, but these are actually too soft for me to run in. The cushioning causes my feet to go numb while running. This never happened in my 12's. I even got a wide width. Please go back to the a model more like 12!

I have been running in my Nimbus 12 for a year and felt it was time to get a new pair of Nimbus. Just arrived today and I am a little disappointed. It felt smaller and the shoe is quite narrow in comparison to my nimbus. Whilst running I did not feel it gave me as much cushioning as compared to my old Nimbus 12, a bit of numbing in my toes as it felt tight. Super disappointed and will need to look for a new pair for my half marathon or just run in my old Nimbus 12.

I bought these shoes at a local running store to replace my Brooks Glycerins. While the shoes are very comfortable, I had issues with my forefoot burning on my 16 mile run.

I felt that the Nimbus 13's were just a little snug in the toe box so I ordered a wide in the 14's. Either they are mismarked or not made correctly as I compared them with 13's (that are normal width) and they are exactly the same. I expected a little more cushion that is not there. Not sure these shoes are worth the price and I don't know yet if I am keeping them.

Never having written a review, I felt compelled after an achilles injury due to this shoe breaking down with little wear to the rest of the shoe, it has very little stability. I will try Asics again someday but for now I will stay with Mizuno.

This is my sixth pair of Asics and I've never had a shoe start tearing from the toe area as these have. I've only had them less than 6 months. From the day I put them on, I fell in love with them, but now I'm bummed because they haven't lasted as long as my previous pairs.

I don't like this Nimbus as much as my older Nimbus models. They seem to be a stiffer shoe. The shoe itself feels shallow and much less supportive around the instep and heel. They also feel narrower than previous models. It feels like Asics is skimping on materials and making a cheaper shoe.

These are comfortable at first. They are not wide enough in the toebox. If you need a wider box, try the wide. They provide good arch support for high arches. I had worn mine for four hours before they hurt my toes, so I cannot return them. That is a bummer.

I've been looking for a replacement for my old Gel Kayano Walkers, now discontinued. I have a neutral, wide foot, and also arthritis so I need some cushioning. The Asics I've tried lately have been too narrow in the toe box. These were wide enough, but the heel felt awkwardly high. I felt like it was scraping the ground every time I took a step. I know they're running shoes, not walkers, but I've never experienced this before. Had to return. I've given up on Asics for now. My last two purchases have been Brooks and New Balance.
