Like their cousins, the Anytime Bootcut Pants, these "Just Right" pants are very comfortable to wear. However, they have a fatal flaw that will make them a second choice for me over the aforementioned pants: a lack of pockets. There is one single zip pocket located about midway down the left thigh. It barely holds my cell phone and car key -- and when they are in that pocket, they look incredibly obvious. Because I tend to wear these pants for everything from hiking to business casual, the thigh pocket is an unfortunate deal breaker. I find myself regularly trying to reach into the non-existent front hip pockets. While I won't be returning these (already washed and worn) I won't be buying any more of this style.

Pants run large, very comfortable but only 1pocket on leg that doesn't even fit a phone.

I like these pants BUT.... the seam running down the middle of the front and back is a bit irritating where it is snug like on your knee and rear.

I have been buying Just Right short length since 2015 and the product suits my body type and height. They have reduced the color choices however and this new City Grey is a bit dull and uninteresting. It will do, but I am inspired to buy another pair. The orange color they are offering is a bit odd and my experience with the black fabric in this style is that it is a lint and animal hair magnet. Please bring back Grill color as it is very flattering. These pants are not really good for trail hiking as the fabric is too thin and will catch or wear out too quickly. Good for travel as they are flattering and light weight and can dry overnight in a hotel room. I do not put these in a dryer and often hand wash and hang dry to keep them looking good. The crotch will pill however. Fabric drape is flattering on the other hand.

There is a lot to love about these pants. They have a lovely line, are comfy and stretchy, and don't wrinkle. They have some downsides however -- the pocket is teensy. I can fit keys and a poop bag for the dog, but that's it. Forget about a phone. The lack of pockets reduces the actual usefulness of what otherwise is a terrific item. Finally, the quality of the fabric and stitching is pretty short-lived. I would certainly be willing to pay a little more to bump up the quality and utility of these multi-functional pants. Let me know when you do, Columbia!

I expected this pair of Columbia Just Right pants to fit well but they are too big. I ordered a size 12 which is the same size I have in a black pair which I love. They are a little loose through the waist but the drawstring cinches it in and they fit well through the hips and are comfortable. This new gray pair is a couple of inches bigger all over and looks sloppy especially the wide legs. Columbia should be more consistent with their sizing. This pair will be returned.

I have mixed feelings about these pants. I like the overall cut and style. I'm 5'4" 130 lbs. I have a long and smaller waist compared to my hip/leg ratio, which is my biggest challenge when finding nicely fitting pants. I got a size 6 which fits well except the waist is quite big for me. The draw string helps but looks a bit "bunchie".

Size and fit were great.. However, there was only one small pocket on the left leg of the pants. Columbia, go back to putting more pockets in hiking pants.

The fabric of these pants is great for comfort, but seems to stretch as the day goes on. I wished that I had ordered a smaller size as they just hang by the end of the day. I had taken other reviewers' advice, and ordered the short version, but on me, they are almost too short, and I am only 5'4"! I do like the pockets as they are deep enough to carry my cell phone. I could do without the tie on the waistband.

I own 4 other of these anytime pants and 2 anytime capris and 2 pair of shorts and I always wear size 6. I ordered these in a 6 and the legs and seat are so big that they are unwearable. I notice that these are manufactured in Vietnam and all my others were made in China. Maybe that makes the difference. Sadly, I will have to return these. These were my "go to" pants. Now I'm not sure what to do. I ordered these in Grill. Maybe another color might be more true to size. Other than the sizing issue, I love these pants and would give my other pairs 5 stars and recommend them highly.

These pants run really big. There is absolutely no structure, it's like those old school parachute pants but in a softer fabric and without the elastic waist.

Columbia is the only brand of outdoors pants that fit me. Yay! I'm 5"10 and thin so it can be a struggle. I bought my first Columbia quick-dry pants for the Peace Corps 5 years ago and this summer bought another pair for a thru hike. I was so excited about the length and waist fitting that I missed a fatal flaw: the total lack of pockets. I need pockets for maps, snacks, phone, water purifying, so many things! These pants have only one pocket that my smart phone does not fit into. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us some big, roomy pockets for our gadgets on trail! I was totally lagging behind my hiking partner who had nice roomy cargo pockets and could get to her maps quickly; I had to completely take off my pack or ask her to get my stuff for me.

Check the length of the pants and don't assume they're right. I ordered 2 pairs in 12 Short. One pair was fine, but the other one was a full 2 inches longer than the other pair! Both pairs had the same paper tag and the same size information stamped inside the waistband. Don't know what happened at the factory. The longer pair is being returned. Thanks, Zappos!

These fit wonderfully, but there's only one pocket (a zip one on the thigh). Who makes hiking/travel pants without pockets? I'm bummed. Am returning them.

Great lightweight hiking or casual pant. I have worn these extensively backpacking, canoeing, hiking, and around town. Two cons: 1) the drawstring in the waist is stretchy so they don't stay up very well, bunch up in the front, and you have to keep tying them tighter throughout the day 2) the fabric pills badly when worn and washed a bit, and isn't water resistant.

I took a pair on a three week trip to Europe because they pack small & light, wash & dry easily. By the end of the trip the fabric on the front thighs was pilling. The pants were very comfortable. I wish they came in a long length. I am 5'8" and they are a little short.

So it's sort of like yoga pants, except it offers NO shape or smoothing (notably in the butt)... so if you look perfect naked, you'll look good in these, if not, not.

These are okay. I don't wear pants like these very often but I needed some for our trip to the Rocky Mountains. I bought a different Columbia pair elsewhere but they didn't come in short so I got these. The pocket is terrible! It's in such an awkward spot and there is only one. Normally I don't like side and back pockets on dressier pants but for these type of pants -- I assume a lot of women wear them when travelling -- you want pockets! If I had had more time before our trip, I would've purchased the other Columbia ones and had them shortened.

I bought these pants in black to serve dual functions: comfort for trail use and suitability as dressier pants for evening. I chose the size based on reviews on this site and others. I'm 5'7 and 135 lb. I also purchased the Just Right Skort in the same order in the same size (10). I've bought 3 pair of Columbia pants in this size and all fit well. I missed noticing when I ordered that these pants have but a single pocket located on the thigh. No back pockets, no slant front pockets. I could live with that...but can't live with how large these run in the waist. Even though there's a drawstring inside the pants, cinching it up and tying it produces an unattractive lump in the front. Confusing matters on sizing, the same size skort is too tight. Go figure. By all accounts, Not Just Right for me. Both items will be returned.

These are my go-to pants for sitting around, traveling, hiking in cool, but not cold weather. They are very comfortable and light. My only complaint is that there really isn't a usable pocket. The zippered pocket on the leg can only carry something the size of a single key or credit card. I wish Columbia would put a pocket at the waist on these. Also, quality control is a bit iffy. I have ordered three pair of these pants. One was way too tight around the hips, while the others were fine.

I was really hoping to like these pants. Fabric feels nice. Does have good sized pockets and a zipped leg pocket, handy for ID and key. There is a zipper and snap closure for waist. There is also a drawstring / tie closure to tighten the waist, if desired (and for a good fit, I need that). Problem is the holes for the tie to exit the waistband are set too far apart . . . about 2 1/2 - 3 inches from each side of snap closure . . . so when you tighten the ties, snap and zip front pooch forward. Tacky looking. Better placement of tie openings would have prevented this. Won't be buying more.

In general, I like Columbia pants because they come in short sizes. However, this pant falls short on its functionality for climbing. It could use more pockets for things like bars/beta. The one pocket that it does have is situated on the front of the thigh, as opposed to the side of the thigh making for constricted movement when one is stepping up. Also, I find the stretchy ties to be somewhat futile in their function. If they were made of a static material, it would allow one to cinch the pants tighter at the waist after multiples consecutive days of wearing have stretched the waist out. In addition to this, it would be helpful to have the ties located on the outside of the waist band as they seem to get stuck in the zipper every time you try to refasten the pants.

Wanted something to wear to a warm wet climate. These were extremely unattractive when I opened the package. The fit was at least one size to big. Did not care for the color and the material would be uncomfortable in very high humidity.

These pants are only for travel they are itchy and stretch a ton on the first wear. I wear a 4 and ordered a 4 and should have gotten the 2. The length even stretched. I am 5'7" and got the regular length. I should have gotten the short and the 2. They are not really that great. Lulu Lemon yoga pants are much softer and worth the price. Unless you hike or need a paper thin pair of non-stylish pants I would not bother. Jeans are probably better! That is what I am wearing on my travels not these. They have no style at all.
