Ordered Just Right Straight Leg Pants, Tusk color in sizes 2 and 4 Short. Normally wear Columbia size SMALL SHORT and either Columbia size 2 or 4 SHORT depending on cut. I'm 5 ft and usually wear size 4P in other brands. Columbia Just Right pants size 4 Short fit best and length is fine. Size 2 Short was a little too snug around the posterior. Waist has an interior draw string to snug-up and hem has a chinch string. Pants are really nice and comfortable. Waistline is a more modern style and rests at my navel with a short zipper. Will be great for travel and hiking. Recommend.

I have to say that I hated the drawstring threaded through the waistband so much that I asked my alterations people to remove it and replace w sewn in elastic inside the waistband. Not a cheap fix but I love the pants now.

These pants will be perfect for spring and fall hiking- I may even play a round of golf in these!

Very comfortable fit and fabric. I'm 5'8" 170lbs and a bit curvy in the hips. These were just right. Will use them for an upcoming trip to Italy and look forward to the ease of packing they will provide.

Love the fabric. Nice color. Fit was a bit large at waist, but that may just be my shape is not typical. there's an interior tie, which actually can cinch it in a bit, but then I don't care for the loops of the tie hanging down, so don't cinch, but tuck them inside. Still recommend them.

Finally found pants for fly fishing that fit! Would like these to fit higher on waist, and the rise longer...but finally was able to keep these! The rise on all brands of women's pants is getting shorter. Very frustrating!

I am 5'1" and find it difficult to get pants that are an appropriate length. These surprised me-they are perfect and do not need to be shortened. I like the light weight, the shape is streamlined though has give. They stretch but retain their shape. They are useful for many casual occasions. I would purchase more if additional colors were available. I have 2 pairs black, 1 pair dark gray. The only reason I gave them a "4" rather than "5" is that the drawstring is set to draw and tie on the inside so it sits at my real waist rather than the outside of the pant. Not very comfy.

Bought these pants for a trip to American Samoa, where the forecast showed 88 degrees and 88 percent humidity every day during my stay. Needed something comfortable for the long plane rides, something that would cover my legs to keep the mosquitoes at bay, something light and breathable in the face of all the heat, sun and humidity, and something that would dry quickly in light of the daily tropical downpours. These were perfect! Comfy, light, breathable, great coverage. And the black pair I bought even passed as office wear during a presentation I gave. They won't win any style awards, but they're extremely serviceable. Did I mention how small they are to pack? Love them!

As soon as I took these out of the box I put them on and didn't take them off for two days. I would have actually slept in them, but I didn't. Yes, they are that comfortable! I wouldn't say they are extremely stylish, but they are relatively good looking. The material is on the thinner side, though, so VPL could be an issue if you don't wear thongs. Be sure to order a size down. I tried on my normal size as well as a size down and was amazed to discover that the smaller size fit better. They are a tad stretchy, but a drawstring at the waist keeps them from sliding down. I have a bit of a flabby belly and so don't like to wear pants that sit too low on my waist, giving me a muffin top. These are high enough without being too high.

Great pants! Thin, stretchy material is very forgiving for scrambling up rocks or sitting cross-legged. I ordered the Short variety and they fit perfectly out of the box. But, after a few washes, they have shortened a bit. Wish I had gotten the Regular size. Also, the black color picks up mud and dirt (especially in the southwest) easily.

I'm going to exchange these. They feel buttery soft to put on. For me, the waist, tummy runs very generous. I'm generally a 4 sometimes a 6 depending of manufacturer. However, in these, I'm reordering a 2. I'm hoping they will be keepers.

I bought these for a hiking trip and they worked out well enough. Agree with other reviewers--order a size down. I may have been able to go two sizes down but didn't try due to time constraints. My biggest complaint is I wish they had some more pockets--there's only one small zip pocket along the leg (that sets off the TSA screening at the airport). The pocket has a mesh lining and isn't useful.

By the size chart I am on the edge between 10 and 12, and I am not at all fit. I ordered the 12 since Columbia markets to the active type. These pants were so large in the belly and thighs I can't tell whether a smaller size would have been proportioned right for me. Seems like a good product though if it fits.

I bought the pants specifically to use volunteering at a wildlife rescue center in Costa Rica. They fit great and are super comfortable and very light (perfect for hot Costa Rica weather!) The omni-shield seemed to work really well, because I had no problems with stains even though I usually got pretty dirty. After getting back from Costa Rica, I ordered a second pair! The only thing I would change about them, if I could, is to add more pockets. It only has one smaller, side, zippered pocket. I found myself continually trying to put something in a pocket that I didn't have.

I have now worn these pants for a week of daily hikes in the open space in the high desert of New Mexico. I like them very much! The pants are very lightweight and pack small, but they have enough warmth to be comfortable on chilly mornings in October. They fit comfortably and have enough "give" for the rigors of hiking. The waist is not bulky due to the way it is constructed, but it is also the one area I would change. I wish the waist had more structure and built-in elastic, rather than the simple stretchy drawstring. As it is, the waist probably works for a wider range of waist sizes. I can live with it. Overall, a great fabric and a nice slim design (as is the fashion today) but with enough "give" to be comfortable for exercise.

I ordered these pants for a backpacking trip in Yosemite, and I wore them all day every day. They were extremely breathable, but also warm and protective when the wind started blowing. They didn't rub uncomfortably on any part of my legs, and I especially loved how water just rolled right off of them!

I bought these pants in both colors after trying them on and reading all the great reviews. I love the fit of the pant, hugs my body just right, and is very breathable and love the weight of the pant. I wish it had at least one pocket by the hip, but not too big of a deal. The only thing I would change, is that it would be just a bit longer. Just about an inch. The regular fit does give good length, which I always have a problem with, but would love just another inch. They wash up great and dry fast.

These fit awesome and are so comfortable. I love wearing these for everything. The pants have one thigh pocket which zips and is nice but it would be better if they also had normal pockets to put my wallet/keys in snce I wear these NOT just for sports.

So, for fit and comfort this pant gets a 5 star! I bought both colors and love them both. I wear them mainly hiking on the mountain and if it is cold I add a base-layer under them, but cute enough to do errands in afterwords, or meet pals for brunch. Perfect! In terms of the next generation I would definitely like some pockets on this pant. I also liked the contrast waist tie and pocket zipper that the earlier version had. I understand that these pants are made to have some wiggle room but I wonder if the button could be a little more secure. I feel like it is always moving about and looks as though it might come undone...and not because the pants are too tight just because of the way the button works.

I like a pant that comes to the waist but have trouble finding this feature. If these pants had a good fit at the waist they would be perfect. Fits ok except for front of waistband, not very functional drawstring to correct not so perfect fit. Very comfortable fabric, great for travel.

I ordered a 10 regular, which was my mistake. They were 2.5 inches long. I should have ordered 10 short. No fault of Columbia. The pants however, are a magnet for dog hair.

I'm a size 6 and after reading reviews I decided to order a size 4. Even so, the pants are large and the waist is very low.

These pants were purchased for hiking but they only have one pocket (on the side of the leg). I returned them for a more practical hiking pant.

I'm an archaeologist and spend a lot of time on the ground crouched, squatting, or hunched over. I love that these pants are stretchy and let me move freely, but they lose their shape and end up traveling down from my waist. I don't want to have to worry about baring my bum while I'm trying to work. In these pants, though, I have to pause every few minutes to pull them back up. The drawstring really doesn't do anything for me :/

Great light fabric for summer but unfortunately they have no pockets which makes them a bit useless for me
